Meads, its not just for Renaissance Festivals. If you dont like meads, rethink that thought and check out Meridian Hives meads. While they have some traditional meads, they also have some lighter/infused carbonated meads that are great. My fave is the Discovery but I was also surprised at how much I liked Frontier (dry hopped mead), the hops cut the sweetness, which is a nice touch. You can currently get their bottles at farmers markets and bottle shops and on draft at various bars around town. The tap room is still being worked on, but theyre hoping to have that ready for business pretty soon (they do have public sessions every now and then, just keep an eye on their FB page).

The Discovery mead is the 2017 Mazer Cup winner in the traditional mead category and is totally worth it! When the meadowfoam mead is available, it is worth the money to pick it up. Meadowfoam honey is rare and makes a mead that tastes like marshmallows and vanilla. The Fandango is made with agave and lime, and adds an interesting flavor that I couldnt place I were not told. The tasting room is among the fermenters and bright tank and adds a certain charm to it all. The staff is friendly and will make accommodations if anything is uncomfortable. Totally worth the visit!

An experience unlike most brewery tours, if youre looking for something different try this meadery. Taste the honeys that go into each mead they make then taste their freshest batches, talk with the wonderful staff about their process, learn some neat facts about bees, honey and mead, then bring home some for your friends and family. They also have a monthly board game night!

Great product, albeit too overpriced to attract droves of new customers or merit regular purchase. The top level staff I spoke with seems to have no idea what they are doing and are pretty disrespectful overall. Have a feeling their dreams of growing beyond their current level have a good chance to be self bungled. Reflects badly on the product and probably wont buy often.

These guys know what theyre doing...if you havent tried their mead, you should. They have a hopped mead that is fantastic and refreshing. Theyre experimenting with different honeys and adjuncts, and each one has been great so far. Their labels are cool too. They are also very nice and helpful. They love talking to people about the mead too. Nice visit.

Wide selection, and the staff is well informed on the whole range. Definitely for those with a relatively refined palate - I had always thought of mead as being similar to beer, but the meaderys identifier as a winery is better suited to the product and experience. Excited to see the rebrand, and think theyre a neat part of Austin!

Meridian has amazing mead and wonderful staff. The board game selection is small but well balanced and the environment is authentic to how mead is made. 10 out of 10!

Its a little bit off the beaten path, but well worth it if you like mead. They have a welcoming atmosphere and have many different types of mead for every taste.

Delicious stills and brewed mead. Very informative about the brewing process and the pricing is super fair. $15 for a whole flight tour is fantastic!
