Ive never had a worse experience in a theater. Staff was friendly, but once in the theater, people talked the entire movie! Especially a group of guys in front of us. Even after being asked multiple times by multiple people, they continued on without any respect for anyone. I could maybe understand it if we were there to see a stupid high school comedy, but we were seeing Split. A horror/thriller. The theater didnt do ANYTHING to stop it. I never once saw someone come in to check. If youre going to run a theater with clientele like this, you have to make an effort to control the chaos for the customers who are actually there to see the movie. We go to the discount theaters and have never seen disrespect like this. There was a group of 4 of us, none of us will ever be back. In fact, if someone ever suggests we see a movie at this theater, we will suggest a different theater.

Although you might feel like youre going to get robbed in the parking lot, the true robbery is rather peaceful as you look a panda-eyed teenager in the face with $30 exchanging hands. What did you win? Two small popcorns, a snack size m&m, and a apple juice. Yes...I know thats par the course at theatres these days but I mean at least make me feel special about it. The staff was really friendly and they even had Batman & Harley Quinn there for the Batman Lego show. Thats how they landed the two stars you see above. The sound was decent but I felt like I was sitting in a nursing home or someones grandmothers house it was so warm in there. I was literally spacing out my laughter so I didnt overheat. I mean at least pass out some church fans or have the $10 small popcorn fold in to some kind of relief. My daughter enjoyed it so thats all that really counts but I wont be back.

Everything was ok until I returned to a car that had been cleaned out. The only thing left in our car were wires hanging out of the dash. They took diapers, sippy cups, strollers, iPod, cd player, etc. When I went to talk with the manager of the theatre about video cameras, he said "we are not allowed to have cameras." Let me translate for you, "WE ARE TOO CHEAP TO HAVE CAMERAS!!" When I asked about a security guard, he responded, "Ya we have one but I dont have any idea when he comes by." To which I asked, "Does this happen often?" He looked at me in the most non-challant manner and said, "Oh ya, it happens a few times every weekend." Yup, that was it. No help. Just a "welcome to the club". Watch a movie at this theatre at your own risk. It could turn out to be the most expensive movie you ever see!!

I love Galaxy. They dont have a huge selection but it is less crowded than other movie theaters and the staff is very friendly. They recently renovated the inside and added an adult drink selection. I love their rewards program its free and I have seen a couple of free movies after earning enough points. I think some of the people rating this over exaggerated a bit. Ive never been hot inside if anything its freezing like most movie theatres so bring a sweater. And if people are talking and youre bothered by it tell a staff member and they can take care of it. Overall I love this place. It is not in the best neighborhood but its an up an coming side of town like most places in town. Give it a chance you wont regret it, or dont, whatever lol But if you do make sure you get a rewards card :)

Umm...As shoddy as the place may seem, theyre not so bad. Like most theaters, concession prices are too steep for my wallet. Lately, however, Ive been attending the advanced screenings that Galaxy hosts and the money I wouldve spent on tickets went to snack and drink: delicious (but still not worth the price). Im not too picky when it comes to using public restrooms so long as theyre clean and functional. These guys fulfill my standards. A theater is a theater though. You go to watch movies and so far Ive never had a problem with my movie-going experiences here.

Ive lived in Austin since 1996 and been to every theater in this city. Without a doubt, the Highland Galaxy is my favorite. There are rarely crowds to contend with and the atmosphere is very family-friendly. I love the offerings at the concession stand. Tuesday nights are discounted and you can watch the big releases for just $6.00 after theyve been in the theater for 1 week. If you do a Yelp check-in, they give you a free box of popcorn. Theyve applied for a liquor license and may soon be serving beer.

Love this place !! I prefer it over everywhere else in town. Sometimes you just wanna pop in to see a movie without having to go through all that reservation mess/coordinate seating charts &credit card division with friends.Plus you can enjoy your popcorn and whatever and fully "get lost" in the movie and not know its gonna end because there is no waitstaff delivering a bill within the last 15 minutes.Very friendly staff as well.

Nothing will ruin a movie more than other people and Galaxy Highland draws a very mainstream crowd of people who tend to watch movies like their in their home living rooms. The real problem I have with Galaxy Highland however is the number of times Ive gone there and the staff have failed to shut the theaters doors once the movie started. Theres nothing more distracting than lobby noise while youre trying to watch a film.

the food is very expensive and not worth it in my opinion, but otherwise its a good theater. if you get a free membership card the experience increases on tuesday because they decrease the price of the ticket, but i suggest maybe sneaking in food or eating beforehand because the food will drain your wallet. the food is okay- not something i would want to order, but you cant have any other choice. slushies are good.

Right now the place is under construction so it looks a bit crappy but before then it looked average, I am sure once they are done the place will look great. They always have all the latest and greatest movies. The food is good ( expensive but it is a movie theater) The employees are also nice too. We once had a problem with a screen in that it was off when we sat down but they quickly fixed that.

This theater is older, but nice. However it is not in the greatest part of town. Like all common sense things, dont leave your vaulables in plain sight in your car. The fact you got broken into is not anyones fault except theif and maybe yours. That they dont have cameras in the parking lot does not make them a bad place. Mind you that part of town is not Westlake Hills.

This is the best theatre in North-ish Austin. Its never too crowded, they offer $6 Tuesday ticket prices, and the picture and sound of the screens is almost as good as the South Lamar Alamo. Other than that its an average theatre with the prices youd expect for popcorn and soda. Theyre currently remodeling so Im assuming it will be even nicer when theyre done.

I was surprised by this theater. I had never heard of this franchise before and when we first arrived to the plaza it is in, I will admit it looked a bit grim. But once you go into the theater it is very modern and clean. They are fairly priced, I like going here because I usually never have to wait in line and the theater is not overly full with people.
