LOVED LOVED LOVED The butterfly garden, it was amazing to just sit and watch, the downfall was the gentleman that was watching the sting ray tank, he was very very rude and argumentative. My son was going to go in the dome in the one tank to watch the fish, he had a camera around his neck and the man told him not to take a picture under there as there was no room, my son told him he did not plan on it and just wanted to look at the fish, the man went on and on and on about how it was a new display and they were very protective of it and did not want it ruined and there was no room to take pictures in there etc. My son kept saying yep I know, just going in to look, not going to take pictures etc. and the man would not stop. I was honestly ready to walk out the front door in the first 5 minutes and ask for a refund. As much as I loved the butterflies he put a bad taste for the place in my mouth before we even really started.

Really great place to bring your kids. The lady we had today at the animal touch tank was awesome. Very friendly and did an excellent job describing the different animals to people and wasnt afraid to step away from the tank when it wasnt busy to talk about the animals in the different tanks. She was really great with the kids as well. On the flip side I wished the two ladies at the Sting Ray and Shark petting tank showed a little more interest in their job as they mostly talked to each other and didnt really give much information on the animals in the tank unless specifically asked. They also seemed fairly unsure about some questions as well. The butterfly house was really nice. They had a really nice looking set up inside as well as handy cards to tell you what each butterfly was. The place overall was clean and family friendly.

Its small, and way too expensive for its size. They have only six fish tanks, and most of them have all the same type of fish. They also have a lot of blue tangs, which are a wild-caught species that dont breed in captivity. The two touch tanks are nice for kids, but the stingray tank is way too deep for a small child to be able to reach them. They also advertised "sharks" but they only had two small dogfish, that doesnt count as sharks in my book. The butterfly garden is small but it has many species, it was a lot better than the aquarium. If you have kids it might be a nice way to kill an hour, but in my opinion you arent missing much.

My husband and I are from out of town and came to the butterfly house around 2:30 on a Friday. The website and the door both stated that they are open until 5pm. When we got to the door, it was locked. A family was leaving the butterfly house so we entered in to see what was the deal with the door. The gal seemed surprised to see us standing there and said that they closed at 2:30pm. Why does the website and the door say the hours are from 10 until 5 if they close at 2:30? We both really wanted to tour it but will not be back this trip. Maybe you should consider changing your hours online and on your door.

Wonderful place!! Has a small aquarium portion where you can touch sharks and sting rays and other swimming creatures. Also a nice assortment of fish in their tanks. Then its into the butterfly room! Its amazing!! Thousands of butterflies fly around you, land on you and just look pretty everywhere!! We spent a long time in here just watching them. We had a nice time, it is a little pricey but it is worth going at least once!!! A little piece of the tropics here in South Dakota!!

The place is not the biggest butterfly house but is sure a good one. It is a great spot for all photographers alike or for people who just want to go for a stroll among the masses of colorful butterflies! No matter what brings you here, you are sure to have a superb time casually walking through the pathways and by little streams of water leading into a pond filled with fish. Please visit Sertoma Butterfly House soon!

The facility has improved over the years, adding attractions and making the experience worth while. It does cost a little more than you might expect so make sure your kids are big enough to enjoy it. Oh ya, they keep it really warm inside the butterfly area, so if youre going in the winter time, dont walk in wearing your coat.

This is one of the best places to visit in Sioux Falls. The butterflies are amazing and the Marine Coves selection of displays just brings it over the top. The aquarists are knowledgeable and amazing people. The coral tanks look great and the touch experiences are wonderful. Must stop place!

The guide told us about the life span of the different butterflies. Beautuful colors very peaceful. What a treat to have such a wonderful family venture right here in Siouxland Suggest you go to The Outdoor Campus followed by playing at Sertoma Park then walk the bike path

Wonderful! The touch pool was amazing and there were so many different butterflies. The price is a little steep, but this is a treat -you will not see this variety of butterflies very often and how often do you get to touch a sting-ray with your hand?

Fabulous place to see/touch some marine life as well as see some unique, exotic butterflies! They also have adorable little quail! The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly; it is well worth the price! Definitely a must-see in Sioux Falls!

Was a little small, but fun to visit! Being surrounded by butterflies and seeing the little quails (there are adorable quails running around in the butterfly house too) was worth it! The gift shop also had a lot of cool stuff.

Our kids loved it! There was a group of kids there from an organization so was a bit crowded though. Might be worth calling ahead to see how many groups are scheduled on the day you want to go.

My son and I had a great time and there is plenty of stuff to see here. We spent a couple of hours just to see everything they had in the building. The volunteers are all so nice as well.

Marine Cove was more than what we expected. You can pet sharks & sting rays. Lots of viewing tanks for other marine life. The butterfly house was amazing; so full of life and color.

Wear yellow for better chances of getting the butterflies to land on you. There are TONS of butterflies in their small enclosure, guaranteeing that youre going to see plenty of them.
