I have been a regular customer here for more than 2 years, and I really look forward to running out of top-off water so I can come in and see what theyve got today. This is hands down my favorite shop in Tulsa, and by far the cleanest operation in the area. The owner, Shane, couldnt be nicer and more helpful. Some of the other reviews seem to think that a former employee (who was frankly rude if he didnt like you, and very pushy on sales even if he did) was the owner, and were put off the shop by that. I would hope they give this shop a second chance, I have been to every store in Tulsa and I really havent had very many good experiences outside this store. I really like that Shane isnt pushy with sales, usually he just gives you information on anything you are interested in and lets you sell yourself on it. Lets be honest, you came into a fish store cause you wanted to buy something, not just because you happened to be passing by, and I am often put off by pushy sales people. The displays at this shop are usually spotless. I havent had a problem with disease ever from this store, and they always have good advice for how to deal with problematic situations. I wish that all stores in my area were this good. The last several times Ive risked buying from other shops I always end up with something costly that I have to deal with. I found other stores that sell fish for a little less, but their tanks are ugly and full of parasites, and it wasnt worth the $5 I saved up front to put hundreds of dollars of livestock at risk.

I came in on a Tuesday around 4 P.M. to nobody in the store, I waited for around 20 minutes and was confused as to why they would leave their entire store unattended for such a long amount of time (not the first time Ive seen this happen). You can imagine my displeasure as I was looking to make a sizeable purchase, as the store maintains an amazing variety of fresh/salt water fish and corals. They also carry many different styles of aquarium, ranging from small desktop setups to large community aquariums. They place a noticible amount of priority to the customers they know. Times I have gone in with questions prove futile, as more often than not I am given vague information in what seems to be them trying to push an immediate sale. Then move to somenbe they are obviously familiar with and being far more detailed in conversation. Many employees also conduct themselves in a very professional manner and have been of great help to me, spurring my desire to purchase a tank and stock from your store. Ultimate reefs is not a bad LFS, they have great stock of anything and everything you need to successfully run any aquarium setup. The store is well organized and is beautifully decorated, making a trip there interesting and fun. Unfortunately, good stock does not necessitate a good business.

My tank was getting overtaken by green hair algae and I was at my wits end. I was running gfo, carbon, skimming, had chaeto in a sump, appropriate lighting spectrum, lightly stocked with fish and light feeding, but everything was still a mess. Shane made two recommendations and I followed them exactly and in 3 months I had ZERO gha and my live rock was looking pristine again!! I was totally burned out on internet forum advice(like dipping rock in peroxide, cooking live rock blah blah blah...), one look at their display tanks and you know they are experts. They also have good coral and fish selection and beautiful tanks you can admire for hours, I always lose track of time in there. P.S. They are also extremely courteous!

Ultimate Reefs & Aquariums is my go-to local fish store. I stop in anytime I am in the area, and they always have new tanks on display with gorgeous fish and coral. They have a large selection of saltwater frags and coral, and they have new fish every week. They have beautiful displays all around the store that change frequently, so there is always a reason to stop in. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. If you have problems with your tank at home, they will spend their time helping you and trying to diagnose what it is. They are also great at answering any questions beginners to the hobby would have. Great store, passionate people, definitely dont pass up this store.

Shane and the UR family have been my go-to for trusted advice, technical assistance, and quality livestock/coral since I started my first tank in 2004 (and the first fish and coral I ever purchased are still with me, two tanks and all my learning curves later!). UR carries top of the line products, and Shane consistently helps me find great options within that which fit my budget (most recently, I finally took the plunge and switched from MH to LED). My family and I really enjoy going into the store, Jim and Shane are really friendly and very knowledgeable. In the times of free information online, it can get very tricky deciphering what is good from the bad and the advice they give is easy to understand and with great detail. The coral, fish selection, and the store overall is amazing. Their display tanks are always well maintained and all of the livestock looks healthy and thriving. I havent had a single issue with any of the livestock Ive purchased. I would definitely recommend any new or experienced hobbyist to check out the store.

Moved to OKLAHOMA from Virginia- had to sell my established tank before move. Went to this shop and others many times. Best selection and advice in Tulsa. Shane bent over backwards to make sure I was happy and setup with my new tank! why 5 stars? Their fish and coral are super healthy and they are very careful about where they get their stock from.

Walked in to buy 2 fish and could not get anyone to help me, this happen once before but thought everyone deserved a second chance, will not be back, after seeing me leave the sales person then ask if I needed any help, after expressing my displeasure, the sales person said I was inpatient and it was my fault for not being helped.

I have been working with Shane on getting my new tank up and running and he has been very helpful in this regard. The tanks are always clean and aiptasia free.
