I attended the concert yesterday and loved the music but was VERY disappointed in the rest of the day. My veteran husband and I have attended these concerts yearly and never before had this happened. We brought two Grandchildren to see the concert and to see the displays from all the wars our country has been in. Access to these were closed. We were told the band was changing back there and it may be open by intermission. As I found out by talking with several of the band members they had a special room where they changed. The young boys who very shortly may be interested in the service to our country were vey dissapointed. This is a part of history that isnt expressed too much in schools now. Had I known they would be denied this I would not have taken them. Next year I will not be there. I appreciate the music, but I think I was lied to about the reason for the closure. If it is money you want, then charge a fee to view the displays, but be honest.

My husband and I visited the museum twice already this year. We are both Veterans and really appreciate all the displays that are layed out so nicely. The museum is comfortable and the customer service at the front desk is always great! Even the trinkets on the way out are nice and not expensive. We are so happy that this museum was created to remember all service members of the wars past and it gives a glimpse into their lifestyle during each conflict. Oh, one important note is that it is kid friendly. You do not have to be quiet like in a library and the kids have room to move around and be a bit free while you enjoy the displays. It really is a must see if you have any interest in our countrys past and present conflicts and the people who were part of each. Love it!!!!

An old-style in-depth museum where three long corridor walls are lined with large, deep display cases fronted by divided glass panels and dozens of other display cases fill the galleries and halls. Take your time and examine the exceptional quality artifacts and historical references. From start to finish expect to spend at least an hour here. Anyone interested in American battles and wars should make this a must-see on their list of places to visit in Pittsburgh. Dont forget to stop into the Memorial Hall (auditorium) if only just to see its grand size.

Very interesting historical collection. Large amounts of civil war knowledge especially. Leaves me feeling both in awe and conflicted regarding the time of African Americans in the civil war and the huge unacknowledged role slavery played in the building of the United States. More real history and a basic understanding on how much of our nation was built on the back breaking work of black people is needed.

There are lots of statues and memorials around the magnificent building. During sunny spring and summer days there are lots of folks relaxing on the greens. Parts of the movie Silence of the Lambs were filmed here so if youve seen the movie look around inside and see if you spot familiar sites.

Its a beautiful edifice but the journey downstairs and back to the rest rooms was not one to be undertaken except reluctantly by the arthritic. Surely the amputee veterans of the Great Rebellion would not have been put to such a travail. Where are the handicappeds rest rooms?

Ive attended several events here and each one has been great. Pitt Stop Lindy Hop has its large swing dance event here every year at the top floor in the ballroom. Its superb! I have also delivered a wedding cake here and its just seems to be a great venue for many events!

Pretty nice museum (especially if youre an American history buff), with some cool events taking place here. Its cool that the movie "Silence of the Lambs" was filmed here, and that at least once a year they have a special viewing of the movie.

I really enjoyed visiting, but have a serious peeve when it comes to spelling, so I was bothered by the misspelling of "Sailors" on the parking ticket. For an institution of higher education, that is unacceptable.

A lot of history, especially on those who served from the Allegheny area. Definitely check out the Hall of Valor area which shows many of the brave men and women who have served above and beyond the call of duty.
