I took a group of 6th grade Girl Scouts on the Camp Overnight. This program is exceptional for both girls and boys! They have done an outstanding job of converting these ships into floating museums while still preserving the majority of the ship in its original condition. Their collection of military artifacts was quite impressive Its obvious that a lot of time, energy and love has gone into and maintaining this park. The staff does an outstanding job of being accessible and doing anything they can to make your stay more enjoyable. All we encountered were also very knowledgeable about the history of the ships in the park. Our girls took the docent tour in the morning. This is definitely NOT to be skipped. The docents are all veterans, some serving on the very vessels your touring, which was our case. Our guide not only gave the girls an informative tour but regaled them with first hand stories of battle using the very artillery they were learning about! Really bring the history alive. I would definitely put this in the top 5 New York State destinations of things to do with kids. It is a bit pricy for an overnight, but it is worth every penny! My girls are already planning their next visit!

Well worth the visit. Its always been nice but theyve done a ton of improvements over the years and really expanded the Museum portion... They have a neat assortment of model Coast Guard ships upstairs that you cant pass up... The 3 ships open for tours are wonderful all around, though it would of been nice to see more areas of the Little Rock. several sections were either closed or have been converted to open Museum space from their original uses. The displays dedicated to local veterans- air force, army, navy and marines- are outstanding. They have an army camp exhibit as well that features alot of historical American and British items and weapons dating to WWII. The bar and grill on the premises, Liberty Hound, was outstanding despite being packed. If your willing to wait for a table, the food is excellent. I came here expecting a few hours of entertainment, we ended up being at the park for about 6 hours instead, so make sure you have a good block of time free to see everything. We visited on the weekend, so it was pretty crowded at times... If you really want to take your time going through the ships id suggest visiting on a weekday.

Amazing opportunity to tour two great ships and a submarine. There is so much history to discover and remnants that are unique to these ships, including very rare (or only remaining displays of) ships guns, missiles, launchers, and systems. The USS Sullivans has paid tribute to the heroic five brothers since 1943 - and should do so in perpetuity. The USS Little Rock (after a 1950s conversion) was a flagship that merged a remaining triple 6-inch guns with what were then state-of-the-art Talos guided missiles (and two associated massive radars for guidance). There are plenty of plaques, videos, and staff to answer questions and provide context. The museum also hosts overnight stays for Scouts right on the ship!

This was a great place to visit while in Buffalo. I found that there are quite a few things to do in the city but this was one of the best and if you have the time, it will kill a good 2 to 3 hours if you want to. It can also go as fast as 1 hour if you intend to rush but I would suggest taking the time to read the wall information plates as they provide very interesting facts about the ships, their history and the crew. Outside of this park is a great riverside walkway full of stores and weekend activities (check the city calendar first) for all of the family. In terms of price, it was reasonable but also keep in mind that the ships and sub must be maintained as well! Great experience.

The people of Buffalo have done an outstanding job taking such good care of these ships. I am a military historian and get chills (good ones) down my spine when walking through these warships. Every school within 200 miles should schedule a visit so the students could experience by seeing, touching and just feeling the history there. My father has long passed away, but would loved to have walked back into the 6" triple gun turret on the USS Little Rock as he was a gun captain on the USS Birmingham CL-62. Thank you for a wonderful experience, I cant wait to come back!

Randomly stumbled upon this place while visiting for a hockey game. Super cool place to visit. There are a couple ships and submarines that you can board and walk through. There is also a museum with a lot of neat artifacts. Tons of history on these ships and in the museum. Highly recommend! **Very narrow hallways so it definitely isnt wheelchair accessible. They also have an option to stay overnight on one of the ships. We considered doing it but we couldnt coordinate our schedules. It sounded like a cool thing to do though - they provide food and everything.

The Buffalo Naval and Military park is one of my favorite places to go! They have done a great service to the Military Men and Women of the region with this park. Their displays and narrations are informative and concise. The quality of displays and the ability to go deep into the ships are the reason I keep going back here. They have done a great job of keeping the prices down over the years. There are other parks such as this around the country that dont allow you to explore the ships nearly as much, yet charge more. Well done!

Bacana! Mesmo se tratando de navios antigos, é uma ótima oportunidade única de conhecer por dentro estas máquinas de guerra. Tem uma pequena loja com lembranças e sanitários. Para conhecer o interior dos navios paga-se ingresso.

Loved it! I like military history and walking these 3 ships was a very nice experience. I visited on Veterans Day 2015, and the tour is designed in such a way that you are on your own most of the time, following directions, reading displays and, overall, admiring the living and fighting quarters of the men that fought in these ships. Not for the claustrophobic... but certainly something to recommend for all, especially families with kids.

I cant say how much I was surprised and pleased with my tour of this place. For children, of the current age, they might find it a little underwhelming if theyre expecting multi-media. However, in my opinion this is the place to come to show off to family and friends. The tour is inexpensive and the museum is well worth the few dollars it costs.Open to the public and highly recommended - I will return.

3 hours watching everything that may have hidden 2 military ships and 1 submarine and 1 hour the museum building. You can stay all day in this area. There is no designated parking but you can pay the parkimetro for $ 1 an hour. Erine st and Marine Dr are the closest to the boats. It is fun. Do not go with stroller because the corridors are narrow and there is a strong smell of paint.
