I have been coming to this winery for the past 15plus years as well as attending their ReFair every year although i do not purchase a season pass i normaly just by the tickets as i need them. In all this time i have never had a poor service experience until today. I donated blood this past weekend and received a free ticket to the fair and with this i spent the day watching the shows i am not able to watch when i have my 3 children with me. I was also not able to partake in any alcohol having donated blood so i decided to purchase a bottle to take home. I went to the wine tasting area and ordered my favorite, Concord and after the final joust i headed home to get a nap before work. I work at a hotel along the west shore, do to the hotels marketing guidelines i am not legaly allowed to mention their name, and was scheduled every day until today so i was not able to drink my wine until i had a day off. Personal choice was made to not look in my bag at pick up and i just put it in the fridge as soon as i returned home, never even thought to doubt the wineries abilities since i have never had any probmems for 15 years. Today i went and had my husband open my bottle and started to pour it to notice that my concord wasnt purple but white. Here they gave me a bottle of spiced apple which is in my opinion gross. Since the bottle was opened i decided to give it a second chance to see if being extremely chilled would help this particular wine and NO it is still very much as gross as i remembered it being. So i thought to call and see if this company actually supports their local and loyal customers to find out that they could care less if a customer whose never had any issues before had one recent poor exprrience in 15 years. I was told that if i had NOT opened it i would have been able to return it but since i did open it and attempted to try it to see if i could tolerate it as a way to over look their mistake of packaging up the wrong product for me in the first place they are unwilling to exchange my bottle that only one glass has been poured and then dumped. The statement made to me by Erica the manager or supervisor of the winery was that "they had no proof of my personal taste that the wine is disgusting and that she herself does not care for that kind either nor can she allow an exchange of an opened bottle" which i will return to them tomorrow with the rest of the wine still in it regardless of being given a replacement. If i was to deni any of my guests at the hotel in such a fashion i would be written up and if it would have been one of our prefered loyal customers i could end up fired. In the customer service and hospitality industry brand and name experiences are not just handed to the company freely, word of mouth is the most important marketing tool this industry has. In all the years at the hotel i have refered hundreds of people to this winery all year long and to the fair during its season. Since i make the local activities calander and it is posted all over the hotel for our guests to refer to i will no longer give this establishment top placement. It would be poor form for me to not list a local atraction at all but i will no longer have it rated as a local favorite. So for a total loss of one bottle of Concord Wine at $11.95 per bottle this winery lost a loyal customer along with my ability to spread the word on how well this local establishment is to me having to now mention that this place could care less about customer satisfaction over $12. I will have to think very long about even attending the yearly wine festival unless it is to find another winery with a product that will now be to replace my last favorite. Man it will take me a while to find another local favorite oh well the wine & spirits stores have several there that i like which will have to do until i can find a wine localy that i prefer since i think everyone should support their local establishments in lue of buying mass marketed products.

I reserved a lunch and show for myself and 5 other friends on Dec 12 at 11:30. Lunch was mediocre. My crab sandwich was nothing special on a very ordinary roll. Broccoli soup was tasty but nothing special on the salad bar. Most annoying, however, was the noise in the Anchor and Mermaid Tavern. We were barely able to hear one another let alone the waitress. I will not dine here again. One of our party was unable to attend. The waitress was kind enough to offer a boxed lunch to take with us, but I requested salad and soup be included and it was not. However, they did keep lthe sandwich in a refrigerator in the wine shop for our pick up after the show, as requested. Shows-stories and actors- were wonderful for anyone who likes farce and just a bit of interaction with the audience. And of course, the mansions decorations were lovely.

This is a review of the Celtic Fling 2015. The once beautiful gardens of the winery and faire areas are no more. Ive been attending the Celtic Fling and Ren. Faire for over 25 years and this is the first year the gardens were unattended and bare (except for small vincas which everyone knows are a garden last resort) and, as result, a lot of the magic of this place has disappeared. Worse yet, the beer selection was reduced to 5 watery brews. Compare this to the past when there were several stoudts and even a strawberry wheat. As I walked the vendor aisles I was accosted by an Anderson Windows - yes, Anderson Windows salesperson and couldnt help but notice multiple booths selling hot sauce. Commercializing and dumbing down the Celtic Fling is a mistake that will impact its long term survival. So sad.

Mount Hope Estate & Winery is a really cool place! Beside having what I consider the best wine within 50 of us (Reading), there is a lot going on at the estate. Recently we went to their annual wine festival, in the winter we went to their dinner theatre and in the summer we often go to their outdoor festivals. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you ask them a question at the wine shop. The wine is reasonable priced but the festivals are a little expensive to get into, but thats understandable with the many staff members and quality of the shows they present (their performs are very good). Its worth the cost of admission.

My 4 year old daughter and I spent the day and it was awesome! The food was all cool... especially if you like the meats, cause they have all of them. From Turkey legs to tiger pies, Mac n cheese to pickles on a stick. Just a blast. They have their own beer...I liked the gold and Irish red. The Queen gave my daughter a special day. We watched chess match and that was the end of our wonderful day. If youre looking for something cool to do, with or without kids...this is a great place. Take cash with you as most stands(beer especially) do not take cards. You will have fun...as long as youre not a tool bag
