My husband and I went to this Movie Tavern for the first time yesterday 4/23/17. We usually go to the one in Collegeville, PA which is 23 miles away but was happy to find one closer to us. The staff at the ticket line was friendly. We arrived there at 8:05 pm but our movie, The Fate of the Furious wasnt scheduled to start until 8:45 so we had a little time on our hands to order drinks and appetizers while we wait for the theater seating. The service in the dining area needs serious improvement because as soon as we had sat down a waiter approached us to take our order before we had a chance to pick up and browse the menu. We asked the waiter can he give us a couple minutes to look it over and he said "sure" and went back to helping others. It only took us a "few minutes" to decide what we wanted and we waited patiently for him to circle back to us to take our order. I want to mention the fact that besides us, there were probably only 4 other couples there who were either seated at the bar or in regular seats like us but they were already served their orders. By the time waiter FINALLY came back to take our order, the seating for our movie was called so instead of ordering appetizers to go with our drink which was a frozen lemonade, we just took the drinks. I went to the counter to pay since it seems that one waiter was too busy helping others and the other waiter was just standing there watching the basketball game and not paying attention to the customers or helping the other server. Either the service in that area is understaffed or just terrible altogether because no one should have to wait about a half hour to order especially when the seating area wasnt crowded. I gave it 2 stars because the seating in the theater was very comfortable, it was clean and our server was very friendly. The menu needs more options and the food isnt as great for the price and needs improvement. I ordered the Game Day meal with Deviled Nosh. My fries tasted like it was re-fried and I barely ate the Deviled Nosh because it didnt taste good to me. If the Movie Tavern would improve their service in these mentioned areas, Im sure they will receive a higher rating.

The seats were comfortable and the movie was great. I went to go see Ghost Busters and this was my first time at the Movie Tavern and I did not enjoy myself. The service that my friend and I received was horrible. Our server was very dull and made mistakes with our order. My friend and I placed our drink order. Our drinks came out and my drink was completely wrong, our server began saying in a nasty tone, "you said you wanted it on the rocks". I explained to her exactly what I wanted and didnt even know that the particular drink came that way. She took it back, and within minutes a different server brought over the same drink. We expressed to the server and said, that was the drink we sent back. After receiving the correct drink, our food came out together. When we places our order, I asked if my order could be sent out during the movie. She than explains to me, as I asked her is it possible for me to send it back, she begans telling me that because my friend wanted their order right away, that both was sent out right away, I should have said something before either one of us placed the order. But instead of telling me that when the order was placed, she tells me after the food was delivered. The first time when the food was delivered. The food was cold, it was not kept at the right temperature. Everything that was given tasted old. I ordered popcorn and it was never delivered. I pressed the button and she never came. She came back to give us our check and delivered the change 45 minutes before the movie was over, But never came back to check on us to see if we needed a box. Im not the one to complain but my main concern was that she was blaming the guest...me being the guest for everything. That is one thing in customer service that you MUST NOT DO. Not only am I a Food Service Manager, but I train my employees on providing excellent customer service. I asked to speak with the manager and I told him the concern and he apologized and said he would talk to her. I really hope he does because the service she provided was exceptable.

Yesterday was the first time I went to experience the "so popular" Movie Tavern. Upon my arrival I was excited and the place seemed really snazzy with a dash a of class. Although, after ordering my Tropic Thunder Smoothie in the theater I had to wait 15 minutes until Ive had to remind a server that I was missing my drink. I then decided to order a plate of chicken tenders and fries to test how long it would take to receive my food. So I pulled out my cellphone timer and figured it took 2 minutes to receive what Ive ordered. With that, I was surprised and impressed by the short lapse in time. However, when I went to dig into my meal the food was barely warm. Also the fries were a bit droopy and in desperate need of salt; which was not worth the expensive price. Honestly, Id get better service as well as cheaper, warmer quality food at the drive thru of a Popeyes. Nonetheless, the food was the least of the Taverns problems. Another issue that crossed my mind was the theaters movie screen. While watching "Batman vs. Superman" I noticed that the screen picture was cut off on the right side of the theater which was upsetting. Even so, the seats were very comfy and not to mention clean! Most theaters which recliner seats or any seat with a leathering basis are usually sticky and unpleasant. To see that the theater portrayed a clean atmosphere was very comely. Overall, my first experience was on the borderline edge of good. However, I am willing to give the Tavern another shot of a first impression. After all, the place was pretty snazzy.

I would give this place zero stars if possible. I dropped my 13 yr old and friend off to shop for and hour and then see a movie that is PG-13 while I was at work. Nope, the theater wont let them in because they serve beer there and so they must have an adult with them. Strange though that the week before my daughters friends mother did the same thing and they went right in, watched move, ordered food, paid with my credit card etc, and no one said a thing. Two 13 years old girls ordering food and paying with credit card, no one said a thing. I told them about this and one of the ticket agents said "yeah, some employees follow the rules and some dont". This caused me to have to leave work drive back to get them, and rearrange the remainder of my day. All because they choose to serve beer??? What idiot waiter/waitress would server beer to a minor anyway????...common sense tells you that there is more of a risk of them getting beer if an adult is there to buy it for them!!!!! DUH. if they are alone HOW ARE THEY GOING TO GET IT!!!!!!! If you are going to have a company policy, then make one that can be enforced all the time, not just when you feel like it. All Sean (the manager) said was, "I will make sure it doesnt happen again".... yeah right. Our country has become so sad, some restrictive policy for everything anymore......
