After visiting 28 North Gastropub/Resolution Nightclub on two occasions (once during its first week in business and again more recently) Im happy to report that the food, service and overall experience has improved exponentially in the past few months since opening. I live in Pittsburgh, where there is no shortage of spectacular restaurants, bars and nightlife in general. I travel to the Erie area weekly for work, and have long been hoping for something to emerge with a comparable menu of craft cocktails and modern dining options - while you can find these easily in a larger metropolitan area, Erie is a bit behind the curve. My first experience was average at best in terms of my meal, but the staff and atmosphere were excellent. I ordered the fish tacos, which were delicious in terms of flavor, but the portion size was off - each of the 3 shells were nearly empty, I easily placed all of the fish/coleslaw/etc. into one taco. I communicated my disappointment to the manager and he not only agreed wholeheartedly, but also comped my entire meal, including my drinks. I knew it was their first week open, so I wanted to give them a second chance after some time passed to work out the kinks. My second, more recent visit, on the other hand, was AMAZING! I went for dinner and drinks with 3 colleagues and we had a blast. First, the food was excellent and the portions were substantial. The service was quick and attentive: the restaurant and nightclub were extremely packed, yet the manager took the time to say hello and make sure we were pleased with our meals. The icing on the cake was our bartender, Josh - if you go, make sure you ask for him! He makes the best Manhattan Ive ever tasted, and I watched him skillfully craft a ton of other concoctions that looked equally impressive. Ive been to plenty of other bars/restaurants in the Erie area—this was the first time I felt like I was sitting in front of a professional bartender, not just some college student making rum & cokes and pouring draft beers. He also had a charismatic personality and entertained us all night long - it was such a great time we ended up closing the bar!

The club itself is very nice and very much based on the goals of night club. It has nice leather seats adjacent to the dance floor. Overall, the staff is kind and wonderful. Unfortunately, if you experience any real issues with the club (say an employee of the restaurant owned by the same night club purposely over serving a friend to obtain his own free drinks and removing her from the facility without her jacket) know they treat their employees like family. The manager lied to me saying that the young man didnt work their and the night club was owned by a separate place than Gastropub 28. The manager now wont call me back in regards to my complaint about an employee that makes incredibly self-centered and dangerous choices such as over-serving alcohol to patrons and removing them with telling their friends, or requiring a young woman to walk alone without a jacket when its still winter-temperatures here in Erie. As if Erie hasnt heard enough tragedies of young adults dying young from the combination of intoxication and the cold. Know if you leave a negative review here, it wont change what happened. In fact, the manager will call to yell at you, even if you called him back to let him know you found a way to appease both parties. If you go, make sure to stick the buddy system and dont check your coat since youll be forced to leave without it. Additionally, the drinks are a little on the pricier side and the crowd is primarily mid-twenties to early thirties if so choose to enjoy a surely eventful evening.

Today, my roommate called the manager after a terrible night with no way to leave complaints. The manager said he would "take care of us" without taking my roommates name or giving us his, suggesting he doesnt have any plans to make amends for the issue. An "employee" drank continuously without invite at our table and then brought the "owners daughter" over after he threw out my roommate (on a 36 degree night) without her coat. He then proceeded to lie to all of us and say she must be in the bathroom. In fact, she was at home without keys, which were in her coat pocket. The "owners daughter" proceed to pour shots into her own mouth and the male employees as they drank half a bottle of champagne as we searched for our friend. Then, he threatened the one friend who said anything about how he bummed more than his fair share by telling her, "would you [she] like to go home next." This friend proceeded to search for a staff member who would take her complaint, and was told irrelevant of spending an egregious amount for bottle service her complaint had no way to be taken. So, if you have lots of money to spend on a good night go to Doc Siders, at least there no one will prey on you to steal your drinks and then the staff will ignore your complaints with dismissal.

Resolution Nightclub is exactly what downtown Erie has needed for a while now. Me and my friends had made reservations for bottle service earlier in the week and went there this past Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. We were met at the front door by the VIP host and taken to our VIP section located on the upper balcony. Staff was friendly and accommadating throughout the night, service was awesome, drinks were great, the music selection was exactly what we were looking for to dance to, and they had the nicest public bathrooms I have ever been in. Overall experience was exceptional, without a doubt the most upscale and up-to-date bar you will find in Erie. Highly recommend if you are looking to celebrate a birthday, bacholorette party etc. you reserve a VIP section in advance and end your night here, you will not be disappointed.

Very impressive. Yesterday was my first time visiting Resolution nightclub and I will be sure to go back. I had read about their Happy Hour Band in the Showcase and decided to check it out after I had gotten out of work in the evening. The band was fantastic, very talented and sounded amazing in addition to playing a wide range of music across multiple genres. Ive been to Coconut Joes Happy Hours regularly in the summer over the past few years and if youre a fan of those you will love what theyve got going on inside. The pub in the front is very classy and welcoming, cant wait to come back sometime for dinner. Resolution itself is very elegant and modern, from the lighting to the stage to the huge video screen, I had almost forgot that I was in Erie. Loved it. Highly recommended.

Easily the classiest bar in downtown Erie...beautifully remodeled interior featuring upscale attributes such as: stonework, granite bars/tables, & leather booths. The lighting/sound is state of the art, and the massive LED video wall is the only one around. Personal favorite thing about this bar is the upstairs lounge, a quieter socialization atmosphere for those who seek it.
