For the last three or four weeks I have been purchasing my fish at the wet spot. I have purchased 5 Amano shrimp, 5 crystal shrimp, 5 rummy nose tetra, 5 gold tetra, 1 rainbow Goby, 5 marble hatchet fish, 5 neon green rasbora, and 2 guppies, 2 broze wedtii, 1 crypt parva, 1 dwarfs baby tears, 1 type of grass, 1 anubias nana I believe, one plant that is slimier to a java fern. All my fish are doing great except one of the five hatchet fish I purchased three days ago. one of Its eyes was blood red and it would not eat. Today the fish was very lethargic, and started to develop what looked like Ich so I pulled him from the tank and took photos of him and his eye. because I did not want to risk compromising the rest of my 75 gallon community tank. I live 27 miles from the store so its not like I was going to rush in a 4 dollar fish when I noticed his red eye on day one. I am how ever going to be in town this weekend because my son has a sports game. I explained to them I planed to swing by and purchase the rest of the fish I need to complete this community tank and i would hope they would replace the hatchet. The kid on the other side of the phone said it must be my tank because their fish are not under quarantine. I explained to him that I have spent a lot of money on their store in the last few weeks and was planing to to spend more this weekend. I would hope they would replace the one $4.00 fish whether it came that way or some how suffered a injury in the car ride home. the kid told asked if I would like to speak with a manager and I replied yes please. moments later the kid came back on the phone and said his manager will not replace the fish because it has been more then 24 hours. I told him with that type of customer service I will not be purchasing my fish thew them again and he told me its my right to shop elsewhere and hung up.

Dirtbags! I would never trust anything these people say. They clearly dont care what happens to fish or customers. I got to work on Monday morning and my desk betta was swollen with dropsy. I went to my usual pet supply right after work but they were sold out of the medicine she needed. They suggested I try this place. I Googled and saw that they were closing in a few minutes. So, I called ahead and told them that I was a few blocks away and on my way. The response was that they were closing at 8pm regadless. I rushed over and arrived at exactly 8pm. The door was locked but the cashier was ringing up a final customer. He looked at me through the glass door and shrugged. My fiance took time out of the office the next morning to go back and try to get the medicine. They were supposed to be open at 10am. He got there early, but, a few minutes after 10 an employee cracked the door open and said to about 5 customers waiting outside, that they would not be open until 11 then locked the door again. My fiance tried calling to ask if they had the medicine in stock before waiting in the car for an hour but no one answered the phone. At least they actually did have the stuff once they opened. The community would be better off without this place. Go get hit by a bus. I hate you.

At first, I loved the place. SO MANY FISH! SO PRETTY! People seemed smart! But then things started going wrong. I followed all their directions for how to have a healthy tank. Water changes, plants, water treatments, bacteria treatments, SO MUCH MONEY spent on this stuff. And still everything I bought from them DIED. Assassin snails, mystery snails, tetras, guppies, gouramis, all dead. Of course they only have a 24 hour warranty too, so there is no guarantee that their fish will live past a day. I got ick from them twice, fin rot, parasites, bacterial infections, I got neon tetra disease in the last batch of fish from them and I am watching every single fish in my tank sicken and DIE a slow miserable death. I have only bought fish from them, so it can not be from another store. I have seen fish in their store so covered in ick and when I pointed it out to a sales person they were like "well, just dont buy that fish" like it was nothing. I followed all the rules, dont buy sick looking fish, dont buy from a tank with ick in it, so I didnt... but still it came. Every fish brought a disease with it. Never again will I shop there. Never. Not even for rocks or gravel. I would sooner order online or buy from PETSMART than that store!

Love this fish store! The employees are always very nice and helpful, at least when I go there. They have a ginormous selection, and ten or so tanks with just plants in them (which really shocked me the first time I went...previously the biggest plant/fish selection Ive seen was at my local Petco). Ive bought fish a few times there, and theyve always been healthy little guys. I find the employees are always happy to answer questions (or find somebody else if they dont know the answer). You just have to ask. Theyre always busy with water changes, feeding fish and etc., but they dont bite. :) Their displays are pretty cool too and show you exactly what can be done with a tank (and is also the reason Im really getting into micro aquariums now). Be sure to check out Snuffles (cool intelligent little guy) and their giant African cichlid tank- the young cichlids follow you around the tank :). Im a teen and cant drive, so I take the hour and a half long MAX trip to get here...totally worth it! Ive stocked a whole tank of clown killies with them, and theyre the ones that made sure I didnt stuff a betta in with those killies, and theyll probably be the ones who help me pick out a betta for its own seperate tank.

Amazing that a lot of the bad reviews come from people that WONT leave their names, eh? Employees that ignore you ? Read the signs when you walk in the front door..." ask front counter for help or questions." Its that simple. They ring the bell, the next available employee comes to you, you tell them whats going on and they help you either get what you need / want or help you work on solving your problem. Been there frequently for the last two months and, yes, sometimes it can be a wait if the store is busy. That isnt unlike any other retailer youve ever been to. Great selection, very knowledgeable staff that is always fun to talk / work with. I did like how someone said the tall guy was her favorite ? Which one ? To take care of the upper tanks the minimum height requirement must be 6 ft tall and theres at least two if not a 3rd. The Wet Spot has it going on and they know it. Theres nothing wrong with it because they are the best at what they do. The poor reviews are bogus. Ive always been able to get through by phone and talk to someone in less than 5 minutes during business hours. A+ business in my opinion.
