A small shop, but with gorgeous tanks and a friendly, helpful, enthusiastic staff. They have an impressive selection of plants and a fair choice of fish and other animals to choose from. All their stocks look happy and healthy; all the fish are active and there are hardly ever sick or dead ones. Theres also a small selection of fish and aquascaping books, which are a nice touch. Theres a large inventory of ADA and do!Aqua equipment, as well as general aquarium cosmetics and upkeep products. Their display tanks are worth a visit on their own, just to appreciate them.

Bottom Line: High quality products, considerate customer service. Had a fairly large order from this store on their online site. Excellent quality tank, light fixture and other supplies for planted aquariums all packaged carefully. There was a minor mistake with my order, but they responded immediately and got back to me and then quickly shipped the item to remedy the situation. I hope they keep stocking quality aquarium products and maintain their good customer service. Will shop here again.

If you like freshwater planted tanks, Aqua Forest Aquarium is the place visit. They have sick display tanks and a extensive selection of plants. Their plant prices are decent and their stock prices are moderate but in great condition. They mainly deal with fish that either benefit a planted tank or thrive in one. If youre ever bored, this store will captures some ooooh and ahhhhhs.

The best aquarium in SF hands down!!! The shop is run by a Taiwanese family. Wonderful staff with helpful tips, they are always friendly however it does get busy during weekends due to the fact that it is a somewhat small store and the only ADA supplier I know. Overall, it is still the best in SF, the fish are healthy, and has the most selections of ada products.

However this stores service make buying ADA products an nightmare If you buy from this store do expect: - Products bought here might not be returned or refunded, especially true if opened - Orders online sitting for weeks - Message sent from their website ignored

Really cool store for planted tank enthusiasts. I went there for wood & rock for a non-planted Ciclid tank. A piece of cool twisted wood was $35, and two rocks were $10 each. Quite the mark-up for something mother nature provides for free. Ill stop by again to look at the nice tanks, but probably wont buy anything as its $$$$.

Ever hear about that phenomenon in Japan where it is apparently popular to have aquariums that reflect above ground landscapes? Imagine forests, or grassy hills growing in a fish tank. With little fish swimming in it as well. Kind of trippy in a good way! See youtube if you havent, but this aquarium gives you a taste of that!

This place has a selection for the freshwater aquarium lover like no other place Ive seen. Their selection of high end Japanese aquarium goods is unmatched. The shopkeepers also clearly care about the animals they keep, and care about the success of their customers projects. 6 stars

This place is one of a kind. There is nothing like it in the US. The quality of the products (equipment, plants and fish) cannot be beat and just the beauty of their tanks is nothing short of awesome. Id recommend checking the place out even if its just to look.

My favorite Fish Store in San Francisco. Its hit and miss with friendliness though. They have all the things you want, but wont always sell them to you, when its the best in stock. The store itself is addicting, its hard to not come back to see whats new.
