Back in the day it was fun coming here before the rennovation when they tried to make the place fancy by spending $1 billion. And in 1989, we got to go behind the scenes because we had a museum pass. There was a cute cuttle fish hanging out in a rubber maid that wanted some attention. I used to like the crocodile open area. There was a Giant Pacific salamander in a tank my mom said she saw one when she was a kid in 1950s. Back then the Giant Pacific salamander was rare too.

Very exciting place to visit. Amazing Science Museum in SF that takes ones curiosity from oceans to rivers to islands and continents, to the rain forest, and to the planets-stars. One ticket gets you to all these exhibits - you can spend a full day here. The nightlife on Thursdays is vibrant and super fun - as the hip crowd shuffles in from 6:00 till 10:00 PM. I got a member deal and visit this place as often as I can.

This is a great little aquarium! Seemed bigger than I expected as we wandered through it, with some fun interactive displays, a touch tank, and great information about the fish being shown. There are also dive shows a couple times a day in one of the big tanks, mostly aimed at kids.

My favorite aquarium in SF. The aquarium is part of Cal academy. They have a number of large tanks that you can view from above and below. The rain forest bubble drops you off in a glass tunnel that goes through a tank of large freshwater fish.

Beautiful aquarium in the Academy of Sciences! Great place for kids and adults. Highly recommend going for the coral reef dive in the afternoons -- you get to watch a diver at work and ask them questions!

Fantastic aquarium. Way bigger than expected. You have several floor to ceiling pool displays, with great variety. Well maintained and very informative. Good for a 3 to 4 hr adventure.

Had a great time here. I enjoyed this much better than Monterey Bay aquarium. Price was certainly cheaper. Lots of space. Lots of cool exhibits.
