The bad: Ripped belts on some cardio equipment, Weight room is cramped and there is only one squat cage, very poor spacing, lacking in free weights. Dumbell set is dangerously old and poorly maintained. Some staff okay, some staff dont even care. I think the janitor is the nicest guy there. some areas of the club are really showing their age. The good: rock climbing wall, small but great staff at the wall. Track around basketball gym. Outdoor pool area, 3 indoor pools, all saltwater which is nice on the skin although the put waaaay too much chlorine in their hot tub. Overall there are some really dated areas of the gym and newer areas too but they could be doing so much better for how much they charge in initiation fees. really examine the areas you care about the most before investing.

My husband and I have tried out many of the fitness centers in the Cedar Hill/Mill area and have found the SAC to be the best, overall. To tell you the truth, there are way too many creepy guys at the other centers, and the SAC has more of a family-oriented feel to it!...which makes it much easier to work out! The Zumba, Pilates, and Boxing classes are SO fun and the instructors and some of the best! I see a lot of stay at home moms work out there EVERY day, and there always seems to be some sort of kids activity planned! There are also parents-night-out happenings, and even a wine tasting tonight! Nice place.

I have been a member of SAC for 5 years and I really love it. I see the point about swimming, regarding the floatation devices that another reviewer mentioned. However, I have never had an issue with them when I try to teach my children how to swim. I dont know where that comment came from. The equipment is great, the rock wall is fun and well maintained. Personally I have really enjoyed my membership and so have the rest of my family.

The staff, including the trainers and instructors are so nice! Their amenities are very new and clean and pretty and nice and varied and coooool. The only drawback is the price, because I hear its a little spendy, but even then if youre an active person, you will have access to salt-filtered swimming pools, basketball, rock climbing, racquetball, tennis, weights, classes, aerobic machines, etc., etc., etc!

I have been on the wait list at Sunset Athletic club, and i am so excited to be a member. My neighbors were right, because its the perfect spot for my boys who are 18, 11, and 13. We are enjoying being able to shoot hoops in the gym as a family. Great floor, and we can walk right in and shoot together, Seems to be good group of guys to play pick up games too.

I have been a member at sunset Athletic club for 11 years. I submitted my cancellation today, because i am moving out of state to live near my grandchildren, and i am very sad to leave. If you are looking for a place you can call home, then check out Sunset Athletic Club. The facility is beautiful, the classes are great, and the staff care about you.

as a basketball player I like to practice in my free time, and sac is the place I usually go, with six indoor baskets and a full court outside I have a variety of place to shoot. But the baskets are majority of the time full! In the lobby they have a cafe, with the best smoothies and fating sweets and good snacks after a workout!

The Pools are amazing, they have indoor salt-water pools that are much more enjoyable than chlorine pools. They have a bevy of classes available for all types of interests and there is a diverse and enjoyable membership base where you meet good people. It has a very neighborhoody feeling to it and its very unpretentious.

Thank you for your efforts in administering such a great athletic club. We have been members for 6 or 7 years. My husband had a heart attack and appreciates the whole atmosphere since he spends so much time at the club. The staff is friendly and upbeat, which creates a really fun community for him.

I participate in exercise classes and feel comfortable with the older ladies in 20/20/20 and with the super fit ladies in some of the other classes. No matter what class I take, I can work at my fitness level and not feel out of place. I really enjoyed the wide ranges of ages and abilities.

SAC has the best swimming center in town. The pools are saltwater - and those of us that are regular swimmers know this is a huge bonus. There are 3 indoor pools, one of which is a warm pool that my 3 & 5 yr old love. Children are also welcome to use the hot tub! All in all we love SAC!

This is my local Gym that I live in walking distance from my house of. My family has been members off and on for over 15 years, and my wife and I are now members. It is an amazing value for a full service club. You can get a whole year at 10% off, and there is always machines available.

The rock wall is an excellent place for beginners. They have a cave, and the rope routes have auto-belays so that you clip in and go without having another person hold your ropes. They also have an after school climbing group for middle-schooled kids.

I am frequently at SAC with my family and most of friends are usually there too. They have three indoor pools and a hot tube with a steam room and sauna room! The locker room has fresh warm towels and plenty of lockers to put your stuff in.

I am currently reading a book about aging and how segregated older people feel in this community. I would definitely say that SAC is not one of those places. I love that there is something for everyone and we all pursue it together.

Comfortable and well equipped, if somewhat older style. Facilities include indoor and outdoor pools, splash pad, racquetball and tennis courts, weight room, climbing wall, basketball courts, aerobic conditioning room and others.

The staff are great and the gym is great. The pools and rock wall are awesome and they have tons of tennis and racket ball space. The only downside is the weight room is a little lacking but still does the job.

Great athletic club. The people, not the equipment or the facility, make it great. Consider it an "actual" social network of people who like to swim, be active, and get their kids active.

The 3 indoor pools with one that is really warm for us wussies who hate to be cold, the classes (spinning and pilates) are generally very good and the rock wall and the gym are quite nice.

This is one of the better swimming pools I have been to. The pool is nice and well designed. Only thing that would make it better is if there was a slide.
