July 4th weekend is one of the best dates of the year for Americas sport of rodeo. The talent that comes to this event are some of the nations best. On the same weekend is the St. Paul Rodeo, forty miles away: both have a big pay-out to the cowboys. And while its fun, the Pros are there for the bucks. Many of the contestants fly all over the country to compete! Lerr Buck, and enjoy the beautiful country side.

Best rodeo in town. Honestly it is a big time rodeo with a small town feel. Cool story: the st. Paul rodeo is going on at the exact same time, and so that the cowboys can compete in both rodeos for double the money, they get shuttled between the two rodeo grounds by helicopter. Really cool modern twist to a classic sport.

The Buckeroo is a great time, especially if you have great people with you. Lots of food and drink options, obviously a bit pricey, but thats what happens at these kind of events.

The one thing that I didnt care for was the when I paid to see the rodeo if you left outside the gate for anything you couldnt go back in unless you had to pay again.

Im biased towards St. Paul but the rodeos the MBA puts on for kids is lights out when it comes to organization, prizes, how its ran, and how much the kids enjoy it.

The kick off party was pretty great! Only problem we had was someone saw us leave with water bottles in hand and almost didnt let us back in with them.

We dont go to the actual building - we go birding at the little park next door. There is a resident colony of Acorn Woodpeckers thats fun to watch.
