Absolutely despise this organization. I found a little baby opossum, and they refused to help him, nor would they tell me anyone else that would help him. It took two days to find anyplace that would help him, and because they wouldnt give me any information on how to help him, I had to rely on simple internet information, and he died 20 minutes before I was going to take him to a place in Salem that would help him. If these cruel b@$tards would have only told me someone that would help him, he would have lived. Ive also heard many similar stories from other people. One poor person I heard had found an injured owl and REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING.

I have a kid who is a bird and nature fanatic so we go here often. There is wildlife care center where injured animals are cared for and released back into the wild. They also have permanent residents (owl, turkey vulture, raven, kestrel) that could not survive on their own if released. We usually visit the care center first, then hit one of the trails for a short but invigorating hike, and then browse the gift shop (and often buy something). I recommend going earlier in the day on the weekends because parking is limited, and what is available has a time limit on it.

Portlands Audubon is located in Forest Park - one of the largest city parks in the country. Because its a forested park there are hiking trails and wild animals nearby. The Society office offers loads of bird watching gear, books, and classes. Cool t-shirts too. They sometimes bring out one of their birds-of-prey (rescued animals that could not live in the wild). So cool to see a great horned owl, raven, or pergrine falcon up close.

Fun place to take kids. Many interesting destinations at a short walk. Gift shop was lots of fun. While there, they had an owl and a turkey vulture out and fed it almost within arms reach of us. Clean facilities. Beautiful forests. There are two ponds that we found frogs and salamanders in. Theyre accessible and able to walk around. A little muddy around them though so bring play shoes.

Hidden gem! The nearby arboretum seems to get more attention than this park. Lots of well-marked, wooded trails. Vernal pools with frogs. A cast of charismatic birds in residence, including a turkey vulture, peregrine falcon, owls,, etc. Huge old trees. Kids will love it here.

Awesome. Brought in an injured kinglet today and they started patching him up right away. Very friendly, wonderful folks, fascinating birds and other wildlife, a terrific nature store and programming, and surrounded by amazing trails. Go visit and become a member!

Beautiful nature preserve that is easy to access. As with most places, it can be a little busy in the summer. My best advice is to make it a part of a long hike along the wildwood trail, but plan ahead since there are no dogs allowed in this section.

Beautiful trails to hike. We didnt get to hike them this time since we had the dogs, but I have before and cant wait to go back to hike at a later time. We got to see alot of the birds they have there and learn about some birds around the area.

My 5 yo calls it the Nature Zoo and we enjoy it every time! Great for introducing kids to hiking and exploring in nature. We love when the personnel have the birds outside (owl, falcon, etc) and kids can see them closer and ask questions.

An excellent place for the whole family. From the great selection of items in the Nature Store to the awesome network of trails you can explore. Check out the birds on their feeders or visit with a variety of resident bird ambassadors.

I came upon this place by chance. A man was standing outside with a large raven on his hand and I ended up stopping to learn about birds, human imprinting, and the conversation efforts of the audobon society. Fascinating!

We always enjoy seeing the resident birds. The trail down to Balch Creek is wonderful and there is a pond that has many creatures in it at the bottom of the trail. The gift shop is very well stocked.

The only wildlife care facility in the area. They do great work here for the native wildlife and have so many great educational programs to make sure adults and kids appreciate and protect nature.

This organization and location is an absolute gem. Their hiking trails, conservation efforts, and a fun gift shop offer a gorgeous and rewarding environment for birders of all levels and all ages.

Neat trail setup but their parking leaves much to be desired. They have huge boulders in key locations that serve no purpose other than to potentially hit your car against when backing out.

This is in the middle of Washington Park. If you want to see birds up close and learn about them either before or after you hike the outstanding Washington Park this is the place to visit.

Nice trails, get out in nature right in Portlands backyard, I support their care for injured birds and the effort they make to educate and share knowledge about the birds.

Nice little gem close to town. Watch out for the trail, its not very well maintained and you will get wet/muddy. Very pretty scenery and not many people

Great spot for birdwatching, and they have a wonderful gift shop. Trails run through the woods, and they are only moderately strenuous.

This patch of Forest Park is pure magic and only 10 minutes from Downtown Portland. Trees, hills, water and birds. Enough said.
