Great area for some quiet and peaceful canoeing with young children. Easy to unload your canoe and there is a short path to launch your canoe. Water is pretty calm and shallow. The area is a bit muddy and swampy hence WETLANDS. Our family definitely enjoyed our canoeing trip to Smith and Bybee Wetlands Natural Area.

Its a neat place to walk around. Ive been meaning to canoe here which I think would be nice. This summer it is dry as a bone, but its still a neat place to visit- just not a wet one. Nice vista of forest park and a lot of sky. Its a grassy meadow! (access near the roundabout at the end)

Hidden gem. We have been coming here for at least fifteen years. From hiking, bird watching, kayaking, geocaching...such a neat place, so close in. Situated right in the middle of everything that is "city", youll find a quick...or long...escape from the daily norm.

Came out here to paddle around my new kayak....but of course I came out at the wrong season...( dry ).... So needless to say I will be back...cause what I did see here has me excited to come back and explore some more.

Nice quiet place to take a walk and get a break from the city. Great spot for wildlife viewing. Herons, and eagles can generally be found here in abundance. Quite a few harmless garter snakes slithering around.

Wonderful area for walking, running, or bike riding. Great scenery and easy to find. Parking was easy for us. If you do not mind the road noise from Marine Drive, this is a great way to get some fresh air!

Nice asphalt walking, biking path surrounds wetland with great bird watching options here despite the nearby rail lines. Year around toilet and seasonal water availability.

Paved paths and some dirt turnoffs. Lots of birds along the water. A few different ways to go as a runner, so the scenery is not always the same.

Nice place for a quiet, easy walk. It has some nice views of Forest Park. For a nicer hike, check out Kelley Point Park just down the road.

A nice walking trail - I wish there were more - that has some good views of the wetland. Looks like it would be a great place to canoe.

Fun place to do a bit of kayaking. Locals enjoy this place in the early season before they start letting the water levels drop.

Very few birds in late October. Did see a Hummingbird in the parking lot a few days ago, which was great.
