As a former volunteer, I must warn anyone who is thinking of joining the CRC group. Now, before I go any further I must state that not all volunteers and staff were disrespectful towards me, however, many were. If you are not politically in-tune with the staff and volunteers, you will be rejected. The volunteer coordinator Carrie treated me with such disrespect I never felt welcome and the head handler Kit never gave me the time of day. If you choose to be a volunteer be sure not to speak your mind unless you want to be pushed to the side without any appreciation for the time that you offer. I’m not saying this will be the experience that everyone has, however, it was mine and I have every right to tell my side of the story. I was told through e-mail (yes, e-mail) that my behavior was not in flux with the CRC “culture” and I must leave my post. That’s right, they didn’t even have the courage to look me in the face when they dumped all over the time and hard work I put in. No matter what the situation, there is no excuse for e-mailing a volunteer asking them to resign, stating that other volunteers have issues and not even allowing them to give their side of the story. I didn’t even get a thank you for the year I spent mopping their damn floors. The truth is, although not all, some of the volunteers who train the newcomers are not capable of getting the job done. If you are trained by more than one volunteer expect to be given different directions on how to do your job properly and then be criticized by other volunteers or staff about not doing the job “their way.” If you suffer from mental and physical complications, including anxiety, you will be labeled as incompetent and if you disagree with Carrie on her political views she will scold you like a child. These were just some of the unfortunate experiences I faced working at The CRC.

We wanted to see some birds in cages. Thats what we got. They have a large variety of Hawks, Owls, & Eagles. Since this is a rescue type operation most birds on display were permanently injured in some way and would not be returning to the wild. It didnt stop us from enjoying these majestic birds. Theres about 30 birds of varying types. We liked the Red Tailed Hawks the best (such personality). The parking lot is small, gravel/dirt and on a steep hill.We came on a rainy day and were able to make it up in our minivan. They had umbrellas for us to use. Its about an hour of viewing (dont let your kids rush through or youll be done in 10 minutes).

A wonderful facility with spacious, safe, permanent habitats for raptors who, for one reason or another, cannot survive in the wild. Birds of prey get a new lease on life; visitors get an up-close and personal look at birds wed rarely see in the wild, if at all. Volunteers, Im sure reap many more benefits! Wish I had the time. The Center also rehabilitates injured raptors. While I was visiting with a friend, we had the good fortune to see one being exercised to redevelop wing strength.

My two year old daughter LOVES the birds! Its especially fun when a volunteer takes one of the raptors out for training. The people are always very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We have many owl decorations in my daughters room because CRC helped make "owl" one of her first words!

Amazing place with different raptors from around the country. Loved the bald eagle who took a bath in front of us. One thing that you need to watch out for is the driveway into the place which is a sudden turn off the main road and onto a one lane road up a hill.

The owls, raptors and vultures were all really cool to look at. Each one has a story and personality. The center is supported fully through donations and admission prices, and the student price is a reasonable $7. It was a great way to spend about an hour.

My first trip here and its a wonderful place. From bald eagle to Barn owls. One word of warning, there is not much parking and you may have to park across the street and walk up the hill. For older and out of shape folks, its not the easiest of walks,

The kids will remember this place. I really like the setup. Quite the collection of taloned birds. I was ah inspired by the Golden Eagle. I only wish they had a Harpy Eagle too. Many species of owls, the Snowy Owl even screeched for us.

Situated on top of a hill, this is a rare find. They both display and rehabilitate the mysterious world of raptors. At any given time, the staff are out walking around with the predators. Very kid friendly. Great spot rain or shine.

The staff was really friendly and answered a lot of my questions. Most of the animals were injured and needed special care. They also gave out free Ive cream with the purchase of our tickets. It was worth the $9.

Beautiful specimens of raptors. We saw some of them feeding and others sang for us and yet others would just show off. Of course the owls were quiet being it was day time. Overall a great experience.

Great place for a short or longer visit, 2-3 hours to see and experience everything. Memberships very worth while for families with kids. Park in their lot or down at the nearby trailhead.

Very dedicated and knowledgeable staff. Shone of the birds are brought out for education which is pretty cool. They also rescue, do vet care, and release raptors throughout the year.
