Hip Chicks Do Wine is like a little hidden gem-very unassuming on the outside but welcoming on the inside. This is where they age and bottle their wine, so even though there is a tasting room area, you get to see where all the barrels are housed (and sometimes the equipment that is used), which to me is very cool and gives you a deeper appreciation for the wine. The chicks are not only hip but they are knowledgeable as well. As they pour the wines they tell you what grapes they used, what notes youll taste, dishes they enjoy best with it, etc. They not only make the wine but they drink it too and actually care what people think and appreciate feedback. They are friendly and charismatic and a lot of fun! They offer small plates (cheeses, meats, etc. ) and even suggest specific ones to go with the specific wine youre tasting. This pic was from a fun chocolate and wine pairing event they had! So the next time you want to explore a Portland landmark, belly up to a bar and share some laughs and conversation over a delicious wine tasting (6 wines for only $12!!)-you must put Hip Chicks Do Wine at the top of your list!

I love Hip Chicks Do Wine. Im a member of their wine club, and I frequently attend their events and events hosted there by the MOB (Mom-Owned Business) group. They make great wine and they have a wide selection of wines available. My favorites are the Pinot Noir and Viognier. Theres something for everyone. (They also have beer and non-alcoholic drinks.) The atmosphere is very laid-back and friendly. Laurie and Renee, the owners, are just great people and they make you feel like youre a part of the family. I love that the tasting room is just right in there in an open room with the wine barrels. Its a really cool atmosphere. I recommend attending their events, popping in to do a tasting, and signing up for the wine club! The wine club is so easy to be a member of and you get so much out of it. You can also hold events there. It would be a cool spot for a professional seminar or workshop. Or a party, of course.

This is one of Portlands four or five urban wineries, and it has a tasting room open every day. They make over a dozen wines, but they usually serve 7 or so in their tasting, which is $7 but you can share it if you only want to have a sip of each. Like the name indicates, the owners are three awesome women who love wine and talking about it, so dont be shy to ask questions. A great place to get a taste for Oregon wines in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

These ladies are incredible! the surly have a passion for wine making and are great at it! I loved their Riot Girl Rose the best! Light and easy to drink for someone who doesnt drink wine often! Everything they do is all made by them or local artists. They bottle, cork and label all their bottles by hand! Truly impressive bunch! They hold lots of events for the community and are a part of PDX urban Wineries! Will be back for sure :)

Laurie and Renee run what is now the oldest urban winery in Portland, and the experience shows in the quality and taste of the wines they produce. Laurie, the "wine goddess," also provides excellent if sometimes offbeat food pairings that go well with all of their varietals and blends (Girl Scout cookie pairings, anyone?). She and Renee are genial hosts, and make every visit a pleasure. Proud to be "vintage wine club" members!

I tried all of their wines & they are amazing!! I am a huge wine drinker & have been to tons of vineyards & winerys ..this wine is delicious!! I LOVE thier Moscat! & Heather who works there is a complete sweetheart! I find it so hard to believe that anyone could write a bad review on Hip Chicks.. It has to be some sort of personal vendetta.. because anyone who knows anything about wine would know that The Hip Chicks rock it!!

Attended a very cool tasting here. The level of expertise and care they have for their wines here is like no other, its really a passion for them. Everything all the way down to the graphic designer is local if not within 1 state away! Personally I enjoyed the Blush the most, enough to get a bottle for the road. They do grape smashing and monthly events all of the time. Well worth visiting!

Ive been to Hip Chicks many times, and every visit is wonderful! I love that the wine youre drinking is made RIGHT THERE, and has been for years and years! I will admit, I know very little about wine, but Im never talked down to like I have been at other wineries. Theyre quick to answer any questions I have, and you can really tell they care about their product and customers.

Was just there with my daughter in May. We were visiting from the east coast and really stumbled onto a gem. The owners werent on site but the young lady that attended to us was very knowledgeable and helpful. We tasted everything they had and though the Muscat wasnt my style, I really enjoyed everything else. Very nice quaint place and I sure I will visit it again.

Hip Chicks have created an incredible environment coupled with an incredible product. We have had the privilege of attending their events and to work with them on our own events and they are vibrant, professional and so much fun! After 18 years in business, they have earned the right to be named the best!

Laurie and Renee know their wine! The space is super inviting - all the expectations for a tasting with none of the pretention. The appetizers always suit the wine and are delicious. I love the Muscat.

Great wine. Fun atmosphere in urban setting. Easy to get to. Interesting place to bring out of town guests for a "Portland" experience.

Horrible wine. Smells likes a sewer when you walk in. Owners are grouchy and talk bad about their customers behind their backs.
