Generally my experiences are great, but today was the exception. I arrived 15 minutes early For the 3:00 airing of the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Purchased my popcorn and went to the theatre they directed me to. I was the only one in the theatre. About 10 minutes after the movie was supposed to start, nothing. So I went back to the lobby and reminded them the movie was scheduled for 3:00. They told me theyd start it right away. After about 10-15 minutes of trailers, the movie started. The movie seemed odd at first, but as the Galaxy movies are a little odd, I waited for the opening credits. Five.minutes into the movie the title came on the screen - Alien: Covenant. I went back to the lobby to point out their error, and the attendant said hed requeue the correct movie and leave off the trailers as it was already 30 minutes behind schedule. In both my trips to the lobby there was nobody in sight and I had to yell "excuse me" to get someone to help me. Youd think Id at least get an apology for the bad service. I tried calling the theatre later to complain about my experience, but apparently the number on their website provides no option to speak to anyone.

Something must be wrong. I agree that it is a nice clean theatre and the popcorn was pretty good. Like the offering of seasonings. Yet that is about where all the good comments end. Drove from Salem for a Matinee that we thought started at 2:40 that actually started at 2:05. Since no one mans the ticket box and the times arent posted inside being 20 min. early ended up being 20 min. late. And did they mention that? No. When we figured it out we asked for a refund ... only to find out we could only get passes for another show. That would have been ok if the acting manager would have told us that the next show was at 4:30 instead of telling us it was at 7. Then after selling us the tickets the manager demanded the stubs before she would issue passes. Why isnt the computer system able to keep track? After 20 + years in customer service I find it unacceptable the way we were treated. Even with passes I dont think well ever go back. Especially after reading all the other negative comments.

I love this theater! It is clean all of the time, the staff is amazing and nice. Its small, the big mirrors at the end of the hall fool me everytime I go :D you always order ur ticket INSIDE. But the movie listings are in the outside. Its different but their is signs that indicate to go inside. I live here in independence, and gone to other theaters but this one is small and cozzy :) u always see familiar faces so even if u do go alone u will always find someone u know there :) I have nothing negative to say about this theater. First impressions ARNT always the best. So maybe give it a second try :)

Crummy management. Theaters are very small. When we got there the only seats left were 4 chairs right in front of the screen, about 8 feet in front of a giant screen. Your neck would be ruined watching anything. I asked for a refund to see the next show (before the actual movie started). They will only give a refund, and this voucher is useless towards the next show, even if you pay the difference between the matinee and the night show price. What a rip off. Saw the movie in Salem instead.

Family Atmosphere! We had just arrived and started watching the movie when we received a message a family member had died... we had all of our children with us. When we were leaving early, they ask us if everything was alright, we informed them why we had to leave and they handed us complimentary passes to come back anytime. Thank you...Now its nearly the only theater we go to. Jennifer

My sister and I went to go see the new IT movie. We had ordered the tickets online way ahead of time, but when we got there they were completely sold out. We went to get our refund and waited 20 minutes to be helped. When we finally got assistance from the manager he told us "buying online only assures you getting in, but not getting a seat". As if that makes sense. Will not be going back.

& was run by a friendly staff. There was a real sense of pride & convenience to have them in our small town. Hopefully the closure will not truly be permanent... Ran by the theater today and it is open & business as usual...apparently some glitch in this listing... Employees had no knowledge of any pending shutdown.. :)

This theater has always been our go-to place to see big releases on opening weekend because the crowds are smaller and audiences are better behaved than the Salem theaters. Popcorn is generally good (though I got the dregs last time) and the Loyalty Card provides for a free ticket a couple times a year.

We purchased tickets to watch one movie and starting playing another! Everybody in the theator got up and complained. They refused to play the movie we paid for, did not let us come back and watch a later showing, and refused to give us a refund. unprofessional staff and worst experience ever.

Ive seen a over a dozen movies here since Dec, 2016 and the service has been exemplary, the restrooms clean and well-stocked, the theaters look & smell clean and the movies have all been on time. I would highly recommend it to my friends and family. Keep up the good work!

Independence Cinema often has shorter lines than the nearby Salem Regal Cinemas. Plus, the popcorn is far superior and your money stays local(ish). Seats recline and are comfortable. The projection and sound have been upgraded to digital.

This is a very nice, less visited Theater 15 minutes from home. They have new releases and they always have at least 1cartoon or kids movie in one of the 6 screening rooms,decent popcorn,pizza, ect. Definitely worth the visit!!!

I love having a theater in our little community! The movie selection is great, the seating is comfortable, the sound quality is good and the pricing is competitive. All-around, a fun and easy date night!

Nice facility but the service was not great. I waited awhile for food that was supposed to be brought to me, and eventually realized they had forgot I paid. This happened twice on separate occasions

The theater is clean with friendly staff. Prices are reasonable throughout the week and they have a great deal on Tuesdays. I prefer to go here to see movies over something in Salem.

Great option for South Salem residents. Not as expensive as the Salem theaters, the best popcorn with multiple seasonings, comfortable seating and parking is never an issue.

Great quality digital projection, however, many of the seat are too low and close and present bad viewing angles. Youll want to get there early to get a good seat.

This is a wonderful little theater with 8 perfectly sized screens. The staff is wonderful and everything is very fairly priced. First run movies premier weekly!

Nice to have a theater right here in Independence/Monmouth. The screens are small so get there early and sit towards the back. Friendly staff. Very clean.
