I am not sure who these individuals are that are giving these great reviews because my experience was far from enjoyable. I booked a ride for August 4th back on April 15 2015 for 3 adults as a private ride with pictures, of which was confirmed by Gary on the phone. I also have several emails from Gary where I am reconfirming my ride with nothing to state any deviation from my booking. My wife, daughter and I arrived August 4th to find out we did not have a private ride nor did they have any notes on my reservations to state we even had a "Private Ride" To add insult to injury, when we first arrived we had the pleasure of meeting the lady that matches riders to their horses. She was the most rude individual I have dealt with on our vacation so far. Evidently they had booked a 10am ride with some experienced riders and when she asked me my experience and I explained I was a beginner she all but told me to screw myself. Her exact words were "I cant keep the EXPERIENCED riders waiting any longer". We then went inside to talk with Dan to see what exactly may have happened and of course wonderful gal from earlier stated "we never book 2hr private rides and we never deviate from our riders" in her best non-professional tone. It is at this time Dan explained there were NO NOTES on my reservation about any private ride or pictures or anything. To resolve it, I was asked to come back in the morning for a 1hr private ride since the other experienced riders were taking the 2hr ride in our spot. Because evidently they must have booked it before I did on April 15th..not! I finally just requested my deposit back and left. I would not recommend this company to anyone. It appears they have a group that does not share information nor do they even write it down in the reservation book. The lady that does the horse/rider match up has no business dealing with the public, she has absolutely no patience or people skills. I have attached my last email I sent to Green Acres just before we left for vacation with Garys reply. yes, I have removed my email address on this. This is an extraordinary, exquisite once in a lifetime experience. Whether you’ve never been on a horse before, or are an avid rider, you MUST come here! My finance’ and I wanted to ride horses together, but I’ve always been concerned about having it be a memorable and fantastic first experience for us. I’ve ridden on and off for twenty years (my mother is a horse breeder and trainer) and he had only been on a horse a handful of times. It’s very important to me to ride healthy and happy horses, cared for by competent and loving people, and unfortunately most trail rides do not offer that, so I’ve been mulling over where to take him riding for years. Luckily, Green Acres didn’t just meet my hopes, but by far exceeded them!! And thanks to Terri, Dan, Gary and the gang creating magic for us, my man is now taking full on horseback riding lessons so we can ride together and have another shared interest. That’s how great the ride was. Needless to say, I am over the moon..! The trail takes you through a stunningly beautiful and diverse terrain within a very small area – beach, moss-covered trees in a forest, meadows, hills and grasslands, etc. There is nothing like taking in such breathtaking nature and majestic scenery from on top of a horse. Terri was our guide and she went above and beyond. She made sure we had fun and were safe, she has an incredibly good eye and is a fantastic instructor. She is gentle with the horses and knows all of their personalities and quirks. She also rescues and helps nurture abused and malnourished horses back to a happy, healthy, purpose driven life. Their horses seemed very attached to both their people, and each other, their “herd” if you will. It truly is so wonderful to find people within the horse community that not only exceed in the physical aspects of horsemanship, but also horse psychology (the write-up of each individual horse on their website is very telling). They also have a strict limit on rides per horse per day, sparing them from being over-worked. Frankly, I could go on and on raving about Green Acres, but since this has already turned into a novel, suffice to say this truly is a must-have-experience for anyone visiting the Oregon Coast! P.S. We even got the greatest pictures from Terri, forever capturing this pivotal moment: our first ride together, and our sheer joy.

Today, June 12th 2015, my husband and I went for a ride on the beach. From booking the ride on May 31st to saying goodbye to the horses today, it was a wonderful experience. The website is very informative and very user friendly. It is nice that you can get to know the horses before ever arriving. Upon arrival (we were early), we were greeted by the beautiful, well taken care of horses in their pens and a hired man. He was very polite and was nice to chat with as we waited for another customer to finish. By the front door is a basket with carrots and we were highly encouraged to feed them to the horses. The horses of course loved them and it was a great way to meet them. We signed in,paid, and headed out to be given instructions. ( it was very nice to find out we were the only riders for the 1pm ride because it was our honeymoon) Hannah, a guide in training did a wonderful job explaining how to maneuver the horse. I also loved that they had a loading block as this makes it easier to get on the horse and is more comfortable for the horse. The owner, her daughter, granddaughter, Hannah, and another guide all went out with us on the hour ride on the beach. It was gorgeous! There is nothing like riding along the beach on one of their beautiful horses. The owners ensure these horses are well taken care of and take them on the trails year round. The ride was so comfortable and we enjoyed every minute of it. I really would like to say thank you to everyone at Green Acres because you have done a wonderful job with those majestic animals. Thank you for ensuring our honeymoon will be as memorable as possible. I hope we get to someday go on the 2 hour ride. -Hannah Murkin

I took my girl friend on a one hour beach ride from the barn to the beach it was only 3 minuets to the waters edge this it was by far the best beach riding experience we have had and was the top highlights of our vacation. The staff really match you to a horse that fits you, not just any horse the trainer Terri mach use up with two great horses. These horses are well cared for and not worn out, and Green Acres supplied a lot of carrets to all the riders to feed there horse for a job well done. The guides used our cell phone camera a took our picture for us on the beach. There dog was with us the whole beach ride it was so cool watching him in the ocean. We will be back soon and bring are friends. The whole deal was about one and a half hours long. The ride was a solid hour on the horse just the must beautiful location on the Oregon coast,Pacific City is a nice little town lots of good restaurants and bars.
