First off I want to say that this is one of the nicest public courses I have played in Ohio. I live in Cincinnati and was in Hudson for my wedding weekend and put together a little outing on a Friday the day before my wedding. Want to say that Lizzy in the Pro Shop was great in getting everything set up. Here is where it starts to unravel. Had 4 foursomes and we were the first to tee off. By the six hole we were hounded by the "Ranger" One of your typical 80yr plus guys with nothing better to do then be a A**hole and us what little authority he has in his life. Our pace of play wasnt the fastest but definetly not very slow as we were a complete hole ahead the whole time from the group behind us. We were also told on a par three that we were not allowed to have our carts behind the hole even though it would have been considered the rough on the Par 4 coming back. I play alot of golf and was with my Dad and soon to be father in law. What a joke that ranger was. By the time we got to the fifteenth whole not the course manager comes up and is very rude to my dad about pace but again we finished a scramble in 4 hours 15 minutes and im pretty sure that is not bad pace. Little did we know that when we booked this course two months in advance that the same day at 2PM they were having a corporate event that took precedence over the $1000 we as a group just brought them on a Friday morning. Well just wanted to say course is nice but Mgmt is pretty incompetent.

Beautiful course, terrible staff. I played in an Ohio State Alumni outing here a few weeks ago. I had friends up from Columbus as part of my foursome. We were all very excited to play - it was our first time playing the course and we had heard great things. It was a 9 am shotgun start and we started on hole #10. We were instantly informed that the course had open play beginning at noon and that we need to be off of #1 by then. We were followed on EVERY hole from 10 through 18 by the course Nazis reminded us that they had open play at noon. The women in our group felt very intimidated and refused to play several holes due to the pressure of the course staff. I understand that we are the last group before open play, but we can only play as fast as the group in front of us - yet we were the only group being hounded. Once we made the turn, the pressure by the course staff let up. However, after a few holes , we were backed up several groups deep. They course staff didnt seem to mind or care. In fact, one individual drive by and told us we need to have "patience". That was my first and will be my last experience playing this course due to the staff. Too bad, because it was a fun, challenging course - if only we could have enjoyed it.

The course rates 5 stars, staff rated 3 stars and the pace of play wouldnt even rate a star! Two of us made reservations to play Boulder Creek, as we have wanted to play for a few years. We were teamed up with a nice couple and began our round right on time. The first three holes were good, i was 1 over after 3, then began the backup. A couple of groups ahead of us backed up until we waited between 5 and 10 minutes to hit each shot. I am embarrassed to say how bad i played the remaining 15 holes. No marshall in site, as we finished in just under 6 hours! Upon arrival we dropped our bags off at the drop, but were not greeted by anyone, the guy at the counter was friendly, but the starter seemed rather bored. The driving range, although acceptable, had the worst balls i ever have seen, especially at a course of this caliber. Not sure who is managing this course, looks as if they are making improvements, but they need to get rangers on the course to improve pace of play. Bunkers need some help, and they need to tell their ground crews to stop mowing near the greens when your putting. I will be back, at a time when their is fewer golfers as the layout was both fun and challenging.

5 stars across the board for Boulder Creek from the course to the staff. If you want a true golf experience then Boulder Creek is a must play. Let me start with the course. You will not find a better layout anywhere around. With all of the elevation changes, variety of tee locations, and professional greens and fairways. Every hole has its own unique challenge including the spectacular island green on #17. That hole alone is worth the drive to Boulder Creek. The practice facilities are top notch. An outstanding driving range with lots of targets, large putting green and a bunker. The clubhouse looks great and has a very welcoming feel. They have a loyalty program which everyone should take advantage of. The food at the halfway grille is very good and fresh. Everything that I have tried has been delicious. They have a very cool patio off of the halfway grille which was a nice place for me and my group to hang out after our round. The staff at Boulder is very courteous, professional and knowledgeable starting at the top with the GM. If you have not experienced this course then I’m not sure what you are waiting for. This course should be every golfers bucket list.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. Beautiful Saturday morning, our group had the first three tee times of the day. When my group made the turn, the course had decided to put a four some playing nine between our second and third groups. They played slowly, killing our groups timing and killing our enjoyment of the round, as we waited on several holes for the "inserted" four some. Called the course 3 times and they sent out a ranger to "speed up" the group (which did nothing). We paid top dollar and got up first thing in the morning just to have Boulder Creek do something as unprofessional as put out a nine hole group after the starting 18 hole group has made the turn. When my group got back to the clubhouse, the other two groups had been waiting for us for about 45 minutes. I asked to speak to the manager, who "naturally" was not available but would call me! I am still waiting on that call. I have never seen a more unprofessional golf course. It will be a long time before our group ever plays Boulder Creek again.

The course is great. Very challenging and well maintained. My one star review is simply a reflection of the poor management and lack of customer service. Boulder creek ran a promotion in conjunction with group golfer. One could purchase an online voucher for a discounted rate ($35 where the rate is normally $70). Unfortunately I didnt read the fine print and the voucher expired in August. My issue with this is theyve offered no refund or any way to make me whole. When I politely questioned this business practice I was also met with aggression and was insulted "because I didnt read the fine print"? At this point Im not sure if I take issue with the fact that my $35 was pretty much stolen as no services were rendered or the reaction from management. Ive paid full price to play this course many times with my friends but given this experience I will never go back and will continue to recommend my friends and clients play other courses as golf in Ohio is competitive and they are far from the only game in town.
