Our experience at Route 46 in Sanford,FL was very lovely. We were from out of town and staying in the hotel near by and the staff made us feel very welcome. The hostess (who was very pretty) was extremely pleasant and made some excellent selections for dinner meals for us, and even spoke to the chef about possible dinner options for another time. This set the tone of the service we would recieve, as she went out of her way to make sure there was something we could eat. We were very thankful for her help, as our meals on both occaisions were great! Our waitress was also very friendly and accomodating and made the meal a very nice experience. The food (at dinner time at least) came in a very large portion, tasted excellent, and was kind of reasonably priced. The following day we had dinner here again. I had a pasta dish which was specially made for us by the chef (as the menu doesnt have many pasta options at dinner) but was excellent all the same. Our waiter at dinner this evening was great. He was extremely friendly, and a very pleasant young man who cracked jokes with us the whole night. Our only complaint was towards the management of the restaurant. During the evening we ate dinner there we were waiting for a table while discussing meal options with the hostess and we could hear a man yelling quite loudly down the hall from the front entrance. We were shocked to find out that it was in fact the manager of the restaurant yelling at someone (an employee or otherwise, we dont know) as we found this incredibly unprofessional, and soured our dining experience. I find it hard to believe that a restaurant that could have such friendly, polite staff could have a manager who clearly treats people with little respect. The hostess tried to seat us as soon as possiable, and rushed us to a table which we were glad for, as we didnt want to hear any more of his disrespect. We would gladly come back to Route 46 next time we are in town for the food and the friendly staff but not for the manager(s). We had a great experience with servers. We hope that the manager was just having a bad day when we were there, as we would hope that he does not normally treat his employees that way.

Weve been to this restaurant several times over the past six months as a couple for dinner. I like the pulled pork and overall I believe the food is very good. Our experience this past week will keep me away from this place for some time and I might never go back. The manager John was rude as anyone could be. Customers that came in after us were seated and served before us. "John" was falling all over himself to attending to the table next to us while ignoring the majority of the customers. We waited longer than usual to get served food and it wasnt due to our waitress. The wait staff is very friendly and fun to talk to and our waitress told us what a jerk this guy "John" was to work for while making excuses for his behavior. Any business hinges on the way its managed by owners and managers. This one is a failure at best. I refuse to patronize any place where Im treated poorly no matter how good the food is.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Route 46 and it was an incredible experience. The staff was fantastic, the heavy Hors doeuvres buffet had WAY more food on it that we needed for our 130 guests, and the bar prices were amazing compared to typical wedding venues. Don was amazingly accommodating, let us bring our own band, and introduced us to Michael Anthony Cakes who has now done more htan half a dozen cakes for my family. We have been back countless times with friends and family, always having a great experience with great food and affordable prices, and were absolutely heartbroken when we heard that they took a hiatus. My parents were able to go back now that theyre open and they said it was just as amazing as always. We cant wait to visit on our next trip back to Florida!!!

May 9th, 2017... literally here now as I write. The food is horrible! I got ribs n brisket... Fatty and cold! Please please do not order the potato salad or cole slaw, or baked beans all tasted undone...and cole slaw smelled old. I was really unpleased. The owner brought my food out to after the first screw up and I let him know the potato salad was not good very dry.....potatoes were crunchy.... The owner took my food and did not ask what I wanted in place of it?? Really bad customer service! They had 1 girl servicing our table with almost 20 plus people smh talk about HELP her out. I normally enjoy my President luncheon, but I wish we never chose this place! S/n dont look for a refill.. I found out while we were leaving that its help your self service. Talk about communication!!!!!

I have two experiences with this place. First, a while ago in the past I was overcharged 71 dollars. The receipt I signed was for one drink, maybe 7 dollars total. My bank disputed the charge. I was credited back because I kept the receipt. I swore never to return. Second, Route 46 reopened and I was to attend Charity event. Sadly to say, I was burned again. While in the VIP section a smaller scruffy faced bartender sold me one drink, a longboard beer I believe. The charge was 5 dollars I tipped 1 dollar and I see my bank statement as a 10 dollar charge after the pending status was release and the tip was calculated. The Manager Mike took care of it, credit back 4 dollars. Yeah, so I was credited back 4 as if I would want to tip that guy 1 dollar for forging the tip amount.

My family and I decided to celebrate our two sons graduation. We ate in Monroes and I must say the food was good and the service was decent. HOWEVER, I watched the owner (a very heavy set man with white hair) repeatedly lose his cool on some of the wait staff. Curse words and other types of profanity could be over heard while my family and I tried to enjoy the last bit of our meal. We were really looking forward to having some dessert but we just couldnt wait to get out of there. We ended up just going to McDonalds to get a few Sundaes which was probably much more enjoyable than listening to anymore of the harassment by the owner. My advice is to run, as fast and far away from this place as possible.

The food was awful the breakfast potatoes were overly salted and bacon was fatty. Our waitress was nice even got our service dog a bowl of water. We opted to sit outside. Once we went to go look at the car show outside we were rudely asked to leave with our service dog by the owner. After paying $5 to enter into the show. She is a trained service dog, had on a vest etc. It is very disappointing that people are still not informed to know the Federal laws and the importance of a service dog. Unfortunately this was not a one time offense. This establishment does not respect the ADA.

Route 46 was just way ahead of Sanford. It was a great concept and a lot of money was put into a dream destination. We had many corporate events there back in 2009 and the owner was super nice to accommodate our needs. My wife and I loved to go the the super nice Saloon. The only problem we had was reading the menu, small type and low light ... LOL I dont excuse the owner for cursing or yelling at employees in the restaurant but I feel for anyone working to save their dream. Best of Luck and if you get opened back up we will be there...
