Me and my boyfriend drove an hour to visit this place and try something new. He said he really liked it as a kid. Disappointed we wasted our money! I wasnt aware we had to pay for parking till we arrived :( but oh well. The first thing wrong was the changing/bathrooms are disgusting, no cleaning in the world could save them. Just rebuild them during the winter! The lockers were decently priced at $8 for the smallest but Actually fit quite alot. The main thing that ruined our experience was the staff. We decided to swim in the pool and enjoy going underwater with goggles on. (My boyfriend has had eye surgery and problems and absolutely MUST wear goggles to go underwater) We wore the kind of goggles with the nose covers but this seemed to be a "huge" safety issue or something with one of the life guards. When my boyfriend put on his goggles and started swimming with them the life guard whistled at him and motioned to take them off! Other kids had goggles on btw. We were very confused and looked at the pool rules sign to see if we did anything wrong by wearing the goggles. NOTHING mentioned came close. The experience almost ruined the entire day because he really enjoyed the pool the most but only swam for 5 minutes before getting our goggles "banned". We talked to another life gaurd about it who was watching the pool as well. She spoke minimal English but she understood us enough to say she was confused on why we were whistled at. We decided to just stay away from the pool to avoid any trouble. The last thing that made it a rough experience was the slides. Most of them seemed fine but one of them in particular didnt use enough water pressure and many people would get "stuck" in one place on the slide. (This slide was safe to go down with multiple people on multiple tubes at once) We Didnt mind this as much but it did cause alot of issues with other people more than us. You were also very likely to get scraped on the slide since it was made of concrete. One kid had two huge scrapes on his back coming off of it. I actually fell out of my tube at one point XD it was funny and fun but kinda of a safety hazard I guess. Some of the slides were very intimating, for me at least because the sides of the slide didnt go up enough. Like if you went down it you might fall out the sides. I imagined falling to my death and decided not to ride. (Im very light and it seemed plausible this could actually happen to someone) if it isnt possible then at least make the sides higher so people arent so nervous about the safety of the ride or something. Idk. Other than that we had fun but Kings Island which is literally a block away would of been 20x better.

The beach had a rough reopening last year, but they seem to have finally returned to their former glory. As you enter the park, you are greeted by possibly the friendliest people in the Midwest. As many happy people enjoying their time around you, you may find yourself overcome with overwhelming since of comfort when you realize... your fun hasnt even started yet. Isnt that exciting? The thrilling attraction the beach offers, mostly in the form of slides and water, are fascinating provokers of an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. For child and adult alike, there will be somewhere to relax and have fun at The Beach. If you think youre just too cool for "real sand, real surf, and real fun" then you had better think again. Its not all sand and surf. Theres a zipline. Oh yeah. I bet you just cant even fathom the adventure youll be having with the wind flowing through your hair. Not to mention the teen "Club Splash" night on Fridays. Oh boy are those just a blast. I mean wow. And of course, how could Reggae Sundays slip my mind? Wait... they didnt because theyre so hype. Ladies and gentlemen, The Beach Waterpark is the place to be in 2016. Its much cheaper than other water amusement attractions in the area as well. Now this is a lot to take in. Im sure you have plenty of questions. What if I dont want to be hype? What if Im just a chill dude? Two words: Lazy. River. Goodness gracious you can just take a load off after a hard day at work on there. What a place. Oh, youre worried you may get hungry? Theres a ton of *fine* dining establishments. You didnt get with the beach life fast enough and you are reading this review in the winter? Beach mountain snow tubing. Its rad. So dont be lame. Do yourself, your family, and your friends a favor but coming to the beach this year and let all your stresses slide away.

I only had fun here because I had to save face for my kids. In the grand scheme of things...they didnt have much fun either. First off...the bathrooms are GROSS and in need of MAJOR UPDATING and cleaning throughout the day. With how pricey things can get they should be able to afford a cleaning crew. #2. The slide/water play intended for small children is slippery and dangerous and pours out a tremendous amount of water after a while that is sure to shock any kid. There needs to be more lawn chairs and umbrellas over in that section for the adults to sit since we cant play on the water gym with our kids. #3 The lazy river type pool and the smaller pool towards the entrance are FULL of bugs and leaves. Instead of having so many lifeguards they need to add someone who has a net to scoop up some of the junk. The nachos are great but you only get a very little bit of chips. Lots of cheese, but I need chips to go with that cheese! The wave pool was fun. That was the only place where I was happy. I did like that the lines werent long and the check in process was easy and the parking was easy. I will also say the band that played reggae music was very nice. But still..I dont see my family going back.

We attended the Beach on 8/18 and 8/19, after buying passes for 2012. Exactly one week later, our six year old began showing symptoms of gastrointestinal illness. He missed a few days of school and was rather ill, with a stomach ache and diarrhea. We took him to the dr. and he tested positive for cryptosporidium, a water born protozoan parasite. His onset of symptoms coincides precisely with our visit to the Beach. I called and asked for a refund on our passes, and they refused (and not very nicely, either - the lady I spoke with was extremely aggressive). She insisted its "impossible" that my son contracted the parasite there. Im telling you, we havent been swimming anywhere else!!! Id also have to agree with the other reviewers - the park is generally in disrepair and looks like it hasnt been updated in about 20 years. The rafts are old and ratty, the slides and stairs are in desperate need of painting, and the plaster is coming up off the floor in the kiddie area. There was particulate matter floating in the water in some of the pools, and the bathrooms were dirty. Im so irritated that I bought season passes. Talk about a waste of money. Needless to say, we wont be going back.
