I know there are a lot of reviews offering tips for a good day at White Water, but Id like to add a few of my own, and reiterate some of the others. This is an old water park that was purchased by Six Flags, so you will be disappointed if you expect Disney World. Its small, it can get crowded at times, and you may have to wait in a line for a slide. Those are things you should already expect when visiting one of the very few theme parks in Georgia, and in the south for that matter. The pavement can be hot if you choose to go barefoot, and its a little rough in some spots. Some of the buildings look a little rough, and some of the staff members could be more professional and have a better sense of urgency, but they always seem ultra friendly and happy. The lifeguards were a little snooty, but Id rather they be overbearing than inattentive! These ARE things that the park DOES have control of, and it would be great of they could improve those areas. 1) Go on a WEEKDAY. This one isnt easy for everyone, and everyone might catch on, but Monday through Thursday are the best days to go. The longest we had to wait, on a Monday, was about 30 minutes for the Tornado and the Typhoon Twister. Everything else was significantly less. 2) Get a SEASON PASS. This year we purchased the memberships. We live 90 minutes from both Six Flags and White Water, so having the combo passes enable us to visit both parks more than once. If you have a large family, or are planning on visiting both parks, even just once, BUY A MEMBERSHIP! The membership lets you pay monthly without any finance charges. It pays your admission, which is over $30 for White Water and over $60 for Six Flags if you pay at the gate. It covers parking, saving you $15 at White Water and $20 at Six Flags. You also get coupons to bring a friend at a discount or even free during certain times. You can even add a dining pass for an upfront charge, which will save you loads on food and snacks if you go more than once! 3) Buy the refillable souvenir bottles! This year they debuted a $20 option which allows you FREE UNLIMITED REFILLS at BOTH PARKS ALL SEASON LONG! Why would you not do that? Youd be nuts to not do that. 4) Pack a cooler with lunch! If you dont get the dining pass, one meal for one person can set you back about $11. Not much more than a lunch at Zaxbys or somewhere, but still pricey. You can get your hand stamped and have a lunch break at the car! The walk from White Water to the parking lot is nowhere near as long as the walk to the parking lot at Six Flags! 5) Get a locker! The $20 lockers have MORE THAN ENOUGH room for a familys stuff. We had EIGHT PEOPLE in our group, and the locker was plenty roomy for our bags of clothes, shoes, drink bottles, etc. The park is small enough that renting a centrally located locker was worth it, and really convenient. At Six Flags, it might not be as helpful to pay for a locker, because the park is so huge. 6) Be open minded! I wasnt in love with the idea of walking barefoot around what is essentially a giant bathroom, but holding flops while on a slide definitely takes away from the rush! The pavement isnt that bad, and using the Little Hooch lazy river as transportation definitely helped! Just bring some comfy shoes for the ride home to give your feet a break! No, I dont work at either of these parks! I just really love Six Flags and Ive been so many times that Ive worked out all the kinks and have a good system going!

The park wasnt at a full capacity the monday i went in August of 2010 (the parking lot was maybe half full when we left at 4:30), but because they are very strict and only let down one person down a slide every 2 or 3 minutes the lines become atrocious. Every line was 45 minutes at least, most were over an hour. This park is trying to charge for everything! They purposefully limit the number of tubes for floating on, Id never seen this before! Then I figured out why, the charge people $12 to rent one for the day. While in the tidal pool, if you are lucky enough to survive the knife fight required to land one of free tubes god forbid you want to share it with a friend. They will shut down the pool before letting you hang onto a an occupied raft, better for you to drown or go rent one. :( This was just the beginning of rules designed to pry more money out of more people. On my way in the soccer mom behind me had to go back to her car after the tyrannical security found non coast guard approved life vests she had brought for her kids and was forced to return them in order to gain entrance. Are you kidding me? Why would they do this, oh thats right, they want you to rent a tube for $12 PER PERSON. next we noticed that there are zero water fountains in the park. Guess what, a large soda is $4, and the only other size is medium for $3.75. Want a tiny bottle of water? Thats $3.50. Or you can spend $12 for a refillable soda cup, dont lose it! While Im talking about prices, lets move onto lunch. I wanted a corn dog, my option was a corn dog and fries basket for $8. i only wanted the corn dog, guess how much.... $7.50! A tiny personal size pizza was $10. The worst was the snack foods that I used to love at amusement parks. Funnel cakes for $10!!!!!! ONE pretzel for $5!!!!! No one was in these lines all day. Six flags, please learn basic economics! This is a recession and you keep raising already ridiculous prices! You will make more money if you lower them! sheesh! I never take the time to review places, much less amusement parks, but this experience was so atrocious that I decided ranting about a few of my bad experiences at this park might help someone decide not to waste A LOT of money at this horrible un-fun park. There were a lot of other small things that annoyed me, but I think I got in all the big stuff. I remember how much I loved water parks when I was a kid, maybe there are some in other areas that are still fun. My experience was so bad at this place that I will think twice about considering six flags ever again, what if they run their other parks like this one?

My kids and I were very disappointed with the park. First, the costs - $10 to park, $13 for a locker, $30 for three lunch meals (drinks not included), $29 per person admission (after $9 discount). Three people = $140 with no frills or souvenirs. The park charges rent for rafts to float in the river ride - I have never heard of this before at a water park, and I thought it was terrible. Second, the lines. I have been to many amusement parks and water parks - this one was one of the worst for lines. In 5.5 hours we were able to ride 3 rides. It took us 20 minutes to get to a parking place once we were in view of the park entrance. There was a line to get a locker, a line to cross a bridge from one part of the park to another. Third, the way the park was run. The water in the wave pool tasted so salty that it was like being in an ocean ...filled with urine and sweat. Ditto for the river ride. We waited in a line for one of the three flume slides. After 45 minutes we learned that the flume slide we were waiting for was out of service and they were merging the people waiting in that line with those in another line. No signs or attempts to stop people from getting into the line. When I asked the lifeguard how long the slide would be out of commission he told me it had already been shut down for over a month. Line jumping appears to be a rampant issue. Its hard to say which is more annoying, the line jumpers, the few people who take such issue with the line jumpers that they are ready to start a riot, or the ambivalent lifeguards who do nothing about it. Where are the managers or people in charge? It seems that the place is run by ambivalent teenagers. To be fair, most of the staff were friendly and polite, but where is the adult supervision? Finally, a frustrating end to the day. After waiting in line for 45 minutes for our 4th ride of the day, guests were notified that all operations were being stopped because of an undisclosed electrical problem. In other words, no one was allowed in any water ride across the park. At that point, we left. I would not return to the park for free admission. In fact, I intend to tell everyone I know to avoid the place. WORST AMUSEMENT/WATER PARK EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD.
