This winery is more like an outdoor bar that serves mostly wine. The wine is more expensive than a typical winery, more like a price you might pay at a bar. They make up for it in a nice setting, with a picnic area, covered porch, fields, picnic tables, and umbrella tables. They had live music the Saturday night we were there. We got a wine sampler and a wine tasting food tray. As it turned out the sampler had thimble size samples of eight wines for $6 on a tray with labels, but since there were signs everywhere they charged $0.50 for every sample "according to OH law" apparently we paid the other $2 for the cafeteria tray to move them around on. The food sampler was better - a decent size piece of cheese, a heated loaf of fresh bread, half a sausage and some crackers for $7, even though the menu listed the price as $3.25 it still seemed reasonable. The wine unfortunately was unremarkable, but we did enjoy the snacks with the wine. It was a nice location, but I wish there was some sense of trying to discover each wine and the staff having some passion about it, but they seemed to do a brisk business anyway so I wont expect that to change any time soon. All in all no regrets on visiting here, but we didnt take any bottles home with us.

The only reason this place isnt a 5 star is the confusion about where to sit, order food, and drinks. What we discovered is that you can sample at the bar and take to your seats. Cheese plates have to be ordered at the bar. Food has to be ordered outside. This was hard for us because we wanted to sample wine, order a cheese plate and get an appetizer. So we kind of needed to be in both places at once. It was not convenient. With that being said, the staff was friendly, although we did encounter one older woman who was less than pleasant as we had taken a bar menu into the dining area. We were chastised for our violation. The soprano plate is everything great about drinking wine and snacking. Finally, the wine flight for $7.00 gives you 8 samples and a small souvenir glass. While youre relegated to a pre-made set of samples, there is enough to pick from in your taste preference. Oh, and the beer was not very far from the bar and their wide selection should mean something for everyone, even a pilsner-style beer similar to American brews.

I brought my wife here for her birthday and it was the first time that we had ever been. We were very open minded and tried to engage the bartender and ask about the wines and the surrounding area. The bartender was new so she asked one of the owners to answer our questions. The owner was really stand-offish and rude. I wuld not go here again. Also, the wine was not very good. I would go to South River Winery where the view is nicer and wines are much better. I would also go to grand river winery where weve always gotten good service.

My wife and I love this place so much we were married there. The wines are not world beaters (what do you expect in Ohio?), but vey drinkable. Where they excel is at creating a fun atmosphere. Nowhere better on a sunny summer day. They bring in terrific entertainment and the outdoor dance floor is always busy. Some of their events can draw large crowds (balloon launch), so it is a good idea to bring chairs just in case. If you cant have fun here you might want to consider unbunching your panties. I arrived to Debonne for the first time this Saturday at 8pm and luckily i was so turned off by their rude help that i left before trying the wine. Apparently they close the wine for private parties on Saturday nights, but they still let other patrons in, and then rudely ask them to leave if they are not with a private party. Save yourself and go to another local winery, i wish i would have read the reviews before trying this place out. We then tried South River Winery and it was fantastic.

Debonne Vineyards is probably the best known and most visited vineyard in the region and for good reasons. Debonne has been producing excellent wine and craft beer for many years. On my last visit I tasted the 2013 Vidal Blanc ice wince and I was very pleased with it. Its not overly sweet, its well balanced with hints of pear.

After visiting several other wineries in the area, we found Debonne to be the best experience, the most affordable, and friendliest staff/service. Oh yeah, their wine didnt taste like crap like the others (cough ferrante cough...). Make sure to visit and try their fresh pressed grape juice if available.

We stopped by on a whim while staying in the area and decided to do a tasting. Their wines are okay but the ice wine is exceptional. We ended up buying 2 bottles since it is the perfect wine to drink ice cold on a hot day.

This has nice indoor and a lot of outdoor seating. The only downfall is theres only one place to order wine and food and it seems to take a while because the staff just doesnt have the ability to do a big volumes of orders.

Just a nice place to be on a Sunday. Just decided to go driving around looking for something to do and ended up here. Good prices on snacks and wine, but the best is they have homemade beer too!!! A must go too.

The staff is friendly. The good is presented well. The building itself has remarkable character. Prices seen reasonable and the location and decor are perfect for a quiet time during the day with a friend.

Wine and cheese plates are awesome! They also brew there own beer, Rat Cellar. Almost always have a band on Sat, and a huge outdoor patio.
