It is very unfortunate that I have to review this horribly. After having our premier production there, I will never return. I was contracted to have a Technical Director and Stage Manager which I didnt have. I was told by the staff working that it was shut off every night and we would have to get a key from the office managers office to turn it back on. I was contracted to have heat and every night at 7pm, the heat went off. I had to bring up my students ages 3-18 to the theatre because the basement was so cold. The students working were extremely rude to me and my staff when asked if there was heat, the student "working" the lights said, "why dont you just jog to keep yourself warm". That same "worker", after being there for 10 minutes said to me after I said, "we need to stretch that floor before its taped," said, "well are you going to bring in a stretcher,". I was shocked as I just literally walked in and while we were scheduled to start rehearsals at 5pm, I couldnt begin until 8pm because we had to wait until the stage was set. I asked to not pay for Wednesday, but was denied. When I brought these issues up to the new Palace Manager, he smirked in my face and laughed it off. He then said to another Palace worker, "I am a strong guy, she is a strong woman, and I have problems with that". I produced a two page document to the Board Head and he deflected the problem BACK to the Palace Manager whom I had 45% of the problems with. After realizing that the individuals who were to work my production werent schooled in lighting and music, I had to hire in a professional to run the show. I was charged for singers I didnt approve and Im sure they didnt get paid. I have managed very large city events for 12 years and this is the most unprofessional establishment I have every encountered. No customer service, inept management and workers left to fend for themselves and simply did not clock out and just left in the middle to our technical rehearsals. We didnt know what spot lighting was going to look like until our opening show. Not only were they unprofessional to me, but my student parents and staff, as well. Tim and Mike, who are students working for the Palace, were wonderful, however, not qualified to be called, "the best there is" which is what I was told over email via a Palace worker. This is all very unfortunate because the Palace is a beautiful place, a true gem in the heart of Lorain and if anyone was qualified to understand sales, they would realize that you want annual business to secure your budget. Waiting for clients to come to you to figure out your month is not smart. Even with the Palace being what it is, it is not worth the headache of returning, not as long as its being run by individuals who clearly have no idea of events and how to run them.

The best part about the Palace Theatre is that you never know what kind of entertainment they are going to showcase. Ive seen some of my favorite cult classics at the theatre. I enjoyed sipping on some White Russians while watching the Big Lebowski. I also met a great Vincent Vega cosplayer while attending the Pulp Fiction showing. The Palace is truly an awesome place. Also, a group of great friends and I attended the 80s Prom held at the Palace and had the time of our lives! Cannot recommend this venue any more highly!

The venue is very nice, everyone used to dress up to be present here. Now Lorain City is falling a part the theater has resorted to showing movies to stay a float. Even if you go see a play, or musical, the attendance is dressed in sweat pants and using fowl laungauge. Go in the day time if you dont want your vehical to get broken into.

the customer service skills of the young immature kids working or rather standing around the concession stand, bring down whatever elegance the city is trying to bring back with this theatre, the only maturity and professional conduct and manners came from the two young men working the box office and the taking of the tickets.

The Palace Theatre is a old world theatre in a modern age. The architecture and acoustics are top notch. A stage for live acts and a movie screen that is the biggest in Lorain county.
