This is a review of the Highbridge Trail, Gorge Metro Park. A stunning pic of an overlook on Natural Ohios Instagram page attracted me to this trail. What Natural Ohio forgot to tell its Instagram followers is that the place from which the picture was taken is not accessible, at least legally accessible, from the trail. So you can imagine how disappointed I was when I got to the spot on the trail where I was supposed to ascend to get an amazing overlook view of the valley. Not only was I disappointed by the inaccessibility of overlook, no fault to the Gorge Metro Park, but I was also disappointed by the trail. The path of the trail follows the path of rustic power lines that, for me, are an eye soar. Add the gravel path to the power lines and it feels like I was walking along a service road, not in a park. If that wasnt enough, there was an unpleasant smell coming from something nearby (the Cuyahoga River, a skunk, trash? I dont know). Unpleasant visuals and smells put a damper on my park experience. I think the worst park is how the sounds of the Cuyahoga River tempt you from the trail saying, "Its beautiful down hear. The gentle, rustling water is peaceful." The only saving grace to the Highbridge Trail is the shaded trail you can descend to via 100 wooded steps. The vibrant greens of the trees and the sound of the river and birds experienced along this short trail made the 3 mile hike better than horrible.

Ive been coming here since childhood when I was "youngndumb". While no vandalizing took place it was fantastic to hang out for hours. Love the trails love the trails! Great for cross country runners! Ignore the smells b/c its from the dam which hopefully will be removed soon. Seeing the powerful water and river is worth it. Theres a high trail and a low trail. Careful on the giant rock formations as people have fallen. Nice large parking lot and great areas to picnic at. Fishing pier too! Dont forget the great trail ACROSS the street. Its even better than The main park side. Its my fav. The rock walls and formations will have you feeling your down at HockingHills SO. Dont miss this!

Gorge Metro Park was pretty. We went on a bluebird day, so the sun streaming through the trees added a nice aura to the walk. The dam/falling water is impressive and gives off a mist when you are at the platform at the bottom of it. The "cave" isnt really a cave but a huge rock overhang. We only saw a small portion of the trails due to our schedule but wed love to come back and take a long walk or hike to see all of it! There are bathrooms at the Southeast entrance. I recommend checking this place out!

Hey You
It was enjoyable to explore this park. The view is amazing. Waterfall is worth to see. My favorite park in the area so far. No restrums on the wild side of the river. Took me 3 hours to explore one side of the park, will come back to explore more on the other side. Make sure you have water with you and some snacks if you plan to see the whole park. There are some things I did not like, but they are minor. Great experience! Recommend!

Went with the family (wife, daughters aged 6, 9, 10) for a weekday evening hike as part of the Summit Hiking Spree. Definitely has some challenging areas, esp. if you pick the hard loop. The rock formations are great - they are thw highlight of the trail. Word of caution: take a light if you might be there around dusk, as the rocky trail can bite you.

Its a nice quick hiking experience for what its is. Be ready for the smell of the sewer system. There are manholes scattered among the trails and the real falls have been covered up by a dam. The smells combined with a lack of trail upkeep is why I give this 3 stars. However its free, easily accessible, and just of the highway.

Very nice trails in cuyahoga falls. Definitely nice for a hike but always recommend going on any trails with a friend. Been here multiple times and have always felt safe. A bit more difficult paths- if you are older or not in good shape you may have some difficulty with the rocky/uneven paths.

偶尔发现的离我家只有10来分钟的绝好的休闲爬山散步Park ,有河流瀑布山林小桥,崎岖弯延的山路顺河而下,景色美不胜收。

Nice park. Trails average levels 2&3. Restrooms by parking lot. Ample parking , plenty of picnic areas with grills. Waterfall is beautiful. Getting to observation deck can be a challenge, not stroller friendly. Pokemon go - several stops throughout the park. 2 from parking area.

Stopped in randomly on a trip across the state and ate some fast food that we had brought with us. Gave us a moment to just get out of the car with our animals and relax. Very well maintained and everyone there seemed like they were enjoying the facilities too!

Beautiful park, wonderful trails awesome views around every corner. Moss covered rock outcrops, paths everywhere take a different route to the river everytime. Caverns, cliffs, whitewater. Always a cool breeze and new discoveries each trip.

Great place with great atmosphere to go hiking, but the bathrooms are very stinky and many paths are in very bad shape and done bridges are just completely out, and a good portion of paths are not for the young or elderly.

Always the default hike spot for my friends and I. Rough trails, lots of rocks and a waterfall. Dock for fishing, pavilion, picnic tables, restrooms, and a field in the summer that turns to an ice rink in the winter.

The trails are beautiful, but once or twice we got off trail and ended up in an area we didnt intend to. Trails can be hard to track with a map. Scenery is gorgeous, though. Probably not a great place to walk dogs.

Its beautiful, and a great place to play pokemon go and hike, but my boyfriend and I accidentally met up with a pot head who tried to take his phone, in the middle of the day. We wont be going back anytime soon.

This is a beautiful spot! hidden off the road it can be easily missed, but once you get here there are places to hike, sit and gaze. The waterfall is very relaxing to watch and the path takes you right under it!

Im originally from NY and walked both side the Cayuhoga River. I wasnt expecting such cool trails! Being under the high bridge was huge! Then seeing the incredible dam from the viewing deck was outstanding!

This is beautiful. There are many areas to walk. The riverbanks are fun to stroll as is the covered bridge. They are working on a bike/walking trail to connect parks. Would definitely recommend!

Really cool Park thats historically important because of the Mary Cambell cave, which is really a natural wonder. The hiking trails are really nice and there are picnic areas as well.

Pretty trails ! Short enough for a quick hike and interesting enough to keep you entertained- cool rock structures and a waterfall- were some questionable sewer type smells however

Pretty nice green space in the middle of town. There are a bunch of crazy cool rock formations and even some very shallow caves. however dont go in the water... its pretty slimy.

It is a very pretty Trail, especially the route through the main parking lot that takes you past the waterfall. Sometimes it doesnt smell too good though. Nice place for Pokemon.
