The park is in a very pretty quiet little nestled away area. I loved the boardwalk and got to see some beautiful Barred Owls. Also saw a baby gator and some Anhinga. There were some people fishing off of the boardwalk in a designated area. The trails are shaded mostly and easy to walk on. The playground area is very noisy of course if there is kids there. I went on a Sunday. I imagine its quieter during the week. There is a small butterfly garden that was lovely to see. You can ride your bikes into the park but must lock your bikes up on a rack. Also no pets allowed. (No Dogs!) that is not mentioned anywhere until you arrive at the park. Why 2 stars you might ask? The parking situation is very frustrating. Parking across as down the steet is not enjoyable. Its a pretty good walk to get to the park. Plus you have to cross Maitland blvd which I did not like. I imagine it would be a little scary if you are trying to get your kids over there as well. Once you do all that and cross the street, there is still More walking to do down a paved road to get the park area where the playground is and the trails start. The way to tell if the park is open is basically a sign they post on the front gate. There is a lot of times I do not understand why it is closed. Parking across the street caused issues for us getting in and upon leaving so it definitely affected how I feel about the park overall.

Me and a couple buddys went to this location trying to find new interesting spots in the area to explore and we found nazi Germany, the gate keeper (parkranger) had a horrible attitude as soon as he saw us longboarding, and informed us that there was no skateboarding on the property and we all said sorry and carried our boards the whole time we where being followed by duddly do right and as we where going back to the park and ride he came up as we where passing under the tunnel and told us "get lost you cant skate here!" (Nobody was skating and everyone was holding there boards) so then he goes and says that we need to go hangout in the parking lot and wouldnt give a reason why we couldnt sit there so I came up with some bs about my rapper friend wanted to do a music video there and mr parkranger couldnt give any reason for us not to be there and keep repeating "your not allowed here"/ "your not allowed to do that" and was a complete old fart to us young people. Well with all that said I do not recommend going here unless you wanna be harassed, followed, and disrespected! Plus this "park"is bogas and should be shut down and the money saved used to teach kids to read or something for a cause, not for a grumpy old duddly to run his naziville.

This is a tucked away beautiful wetlands park with close to 2 miles of boardwalk to explore. Yes, the first time I went the park was closed. They are only open Thursday-Sunday with varying hours in winter and summer. They dont allow dogs & bikes and they will only let you park in the park on Thursdays and Fridays because parking is very limited. On the weekends you park off site across the road, but can take a tram or simply walk under the main road through a tunnel. It is worth trying the park because it is a beautiful and peaceful walk with no crowds. Its a glimpse into "old Florida" or what that whole area would have looked like before our subdivisions took over. In my many walks through the woods and wetlands I have seen baby gators, big gators, rabbits, barred owls, blue herons, egrets, red shouldered hawks, anhingas, and other birds I cant name. Although I dont fish, you can fish there too, but need a license. Good for walkers, nature lovers, bird watchers, photographers, and kids, with the best time to go in the morning before it gets too hot.

The park is nice, but it is closed more than it seems to be open. I checked the website several times to make sure it was open and drove clear across town, only to find it was not. The website should be updated more often to save visitors the wasted trip. I do understand that when it rains it is closed, but it has not rained in days. The parking is also an issue. If there is a party you have to park across the street, but no transportation is provided to cross over the busy highway. I will not be coming back. Too bad because it really is a hidden treasure.

A quiet, beautiful park off the beaten path. Plenty of boardwalks and a playground picnic area just inside. We walk from a nearby apartment complex, but they have parking across the street and a complimentary shuttle from the lot to inside the park during operating hours. Highly recommend for a nice walk along the trails!

The web site gives almost no info on this park. We wanted to find a place to walk our dog, so we took him across town to the park, only to discover that no dogs are allowed there. It would save people a lot of time if this were mentioned somewhere on the web site.

Great place to fish. I have caught several bass here up to 8.5 lbs! Catching bluegill and sunfish is very popular among the young ones here. Fabulous views and lots of birds to watch too. The on-site rangers are very friendly and knowledgeable.

The park is a nice spot, but every time Ive interacted with the staff I have wanted to leave, they are rude, short and not helpful when you have questions. Re staff the park and paint some signs and youd have 5 stars.

Probably a nice park but I got denied entry (and not very nicely either) because I was on my bicycle...first time there, wasnt aware of the rule. Perhaps another day...

Horrible Park! They make you park across a four lane busy state road and walk across when they have parking inside the actual park. Will never go back.
