Visited on a whim while looking for Polish Boys. Im glad we found this instead. Each order is a slip where you can choose unique and delicious toppings for a burger or quarter pound hot dog. Whats incredible is that all hit dogs are $6, regardless of topping quantity. I got a dog with pimento mac n cheese, marinated cremini mushrooms, cheddar cheese, top secret fry sauce, bourbon pork-n-beans and bacon-spiked southern-style greens. Basically a hot dog topped with a soul food kitchen. Every ingredient was savory and delicious. Easily top of the list in my hot dog eating experiences. Ye olde girlfriend got a dog with spaghetti-os and cole slaw. The cole slaw had a bit of kick to it and the spaghetti-os gave a unique richness to the dish. We also got a side of tots with BBQ dust and 3 dipping sauces. The homemade ketchup tastes like it was sweetened with applesauce, a welcome change from the common ketchups. This was my favorite. The top secret fry sauce and porter honey mustard were good too. As a bonus, I was able to score a cream ale for $2. Bottom line: if you swing by Cleveland, dont miss this place.

I love everything about Happy Dog, except maybe the way my stomach feels the next day. Truly, my only regret is usually that I can only consume a hot dog and a half! I always want to try everything. Two of my favorite are from the "suggestive weiners" list, combos recommended by the Happy Dog staff. The first is chunky peanut butter, onions, mole sauce & bacon, & it isnt too overstuffed. To die for! It isnt nearly as gross as it sounds like it might be & is, in fact, quite delicious. Second: red onions, BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, cajun corn stick and chorizo chili. Also amazing, but it gets a little soggy - the buns arent great - so it doesnt make for great leftovers. Get an order of tater tots & a smattering of dipping sauce to share. May I recommend the saffron aioli, Thai chili sauce, BBQ sauce? All SO GOOD - one subtle, one spicy, one sweet. Also: PBRs in a can. In other words? Rarely have I been so happy in my entire life as when I am dining at Happy Dog.

Mom had a hankering for Hot Dogs so they packed us into the rental car and off we went to West 58th and Detroit. The hot dogs were fine - the topping options were plentiful. The waitress was friendly. It was pretty loud in there, but it was fine. Of the 5 of us, there was a combination of selecting hot dog combos from the Suggestive Weiners menu and some make your own. Overall there were thumbs up from around the table, except the french fries were way undercooked. Beer was decently priced and I mean you cant beat the $6. Im not brave enough to try a crazy combo- Im more into the hot dogs of yore but if you want cream cheese and fruit loops on your weiner, by all means. Fair warning : dont be confused by the graffiti on the bathroom doors- theyre not crude drawings of "milk bones".

Awful atmosphere, wait staff were rude and terse. Hot dogs were decent, nothing incredible. The only thing this place has, is interesting toppings to go on the hotdog, other than that utter rubbish. $60 for 3 hotdogs?! Wouldve been better spent on a deserving local business that wasnt run by pretentious condescending hipsters who had better food. Congratulations happy dog you had a great idea, your execution of it is miserable. Its unfortunate because we were excited about trying this restaurant, and were walking away disenchanted and disappointed. If youve never been here keep it that way, if youre still desperate to try their food youd be much better off spending your hard earned money getting one of their hotdogs at an Indians game.

Im the vegetarian half of a vegetarian/omnivore couple, which is why happy dog is such a fun late night treat. The kitchen is open until 10p, and they work off of a choose your own toppings checklist. The meat hot dogs are all beef and the veggie dogs are field today brand. They have every topping from truffled mustard to carmelized onions to chili. Their tater tots have many options for sauces as well and can have a special sweet bbq dusting of you choose (we werent too into it because it was a little more sweet than savory to us) They also have a great selection of beer and many TVs with local games playing. The bar tenders are very attentive and kind. They also host local competitions like pinball tournaments, if you like fun.

Their hot dogs are FANTASTIC! I highly recommend their homemade crunchy peanut butter (specifically the Michael Symons favorite: peanut butter, neon relish, and sriracha). It sounds weird, but is fantastic. In any case, they have plenty of toppings to pick from, and you wont be able to eat more than one in a sitting (well, most wont be able to). The hot dogs are specially made for them and are absolutely wonderful. They used to only serve hot dogs and tater tots, but theyve added fries to their menu. When you get a side, you can add any of the dipping sauces you want at no additional charge. Add one of the beers from their great selection and youve got a satisfying (though not particularly healthy) meal!

Management and the owner is absolutely horrible here!! When I ran a tab here I explained that I wanted to pay cash and they said it wasn't a issue. I paid my tab in cash and left only to find out the next day that the system they use puts a automatic hold for the entire amount of your transaction. I contacted the bar only to be told that he doesn't have time to contact my bank to notify them that I paid cash so the hold can be removed, I was told that there is 50 other things for the owner to do and he doesn't have time to waste talking to the bank on the phone. The next time I'm going out I'm going to make sure that I don't have time to spend money at this establishment!!

Located in a corner location on the east end of Gordan Square Happy Dog is a great Cleveland dining destination. Meat and non-meat dogs available with a blizzard of topping choices which includes Froot Loops! Many toppings are house made (but not the Froot Loops). In addition to hot dogs, the sides are fries or tots, loaded or not. They are very clear on what is gluten free, vegetarian or vegan. They have a vegan dog and GF bun. The only thing I wish they offered was lettuce wrapped dogs because I dont eat any kind of bun. Lastly they have a good selection of draft, bottled beer and spirits available.
