Just played here today and while the golf course is in decent condition and nice greens for the most part, I was attacked on the Fifth Green. Me and my foursome were attacked by two little mexican kids on the fifth green while trying to put and were cursed at and SHOT AT WITH A PAINTBALL GUN. When we notified the club house and showed that one of us had actually been hit, all they said was "Sorry". The trailer park runs along 5th,6th,and the 7th tee box. The manager did not offer any sort of compensation for the fact that we were attacked. No tokens to the driving range, no free golf, not anything. There are way too many courses in and around Raleigh to have to put with being attacked and playing the next three holes scared that someone is going to come running out of the woods with a gun or throw rocks at you (which happened to the people behind us).

Maybe we just caught it on a bad day, but I wound up leaving after 3 holes because of the pace of play. Im sure all courses have to deal with pace of play issues, but I just dont know what the proshop was thinking by sending off the groups. It seemed as if all they wanted was to get your money and then have you deal with the pace of play yourself. It was almost like they expected for people to quit mid round.....and we played during the week too. They sent sevreal groups of walkers in between riders too and our tee time was md morning.....Im just not sure the logic. The course seemed to be in good shape, but I just dont see myself going back.....like I said it seems as if theyre all about getting your money and seeing how long you can last.

I play here often - probably 4 times a month. The pace of play is ALWAYS slow. Management REALLY needs to make an effort to improve it - send out a ranger, stagger the tee times a bit more, etc. Ive had numerous rounds extend well over 5 hours. The course is usually in good shape and the driving range and putting green are pretty decent. However, a bag of range balls cost $5, and the last two times I counted, I got 19 and 24 balls. That is really ridiculous. It should cost $3, or you should get 30-40 balls. The greens fees are a little too high for the course if you play before noon. I think there are other courses in the area that are better and similarly priced.

As for the golf course going down hill since new owners took over. I feel you should be pleased that someone with some financial backing now owns it. At least its still operating. It was losing money head over heels prior to that and with only a couple hundred members it probably would have shut down without new owners. As for golfers in jeans and slow play, Im sure Wakefield would welcome your 30k initiation and 400+ per month. They have a no jeans policy and plenty of rangers. As for me, I plan to play Eagle Ridge, Riverwood, & Heddingham in jeans if I want and proud to be a member with rates that my family can afford.

This Tom Kite course is wonderful, the very definition of tough but fair. It features a good mix of long and short holes, and the conditions are generally good, esp. the greens. Some are taken aback by the copious homes encroaching the course, esp. on the back-9. But, after several rounds you forget about this and concentrate on the course, which features a smattering of forced carries, water, fairway bunkers, and dramatic green complexes. $63 summer weekend rate is too high; however, see the website to purchase a $49 round after 11:30 on Sat.-Sun. A local favorite, pace of play is often a problem during weekends.

Drug test management and grounds crew!!!!! The fairways are in horrible condition!!! Not one level spot anywhere. Looks like they havent touched the fairways since last fall. Ripples of grass clippings all over the place. From standing and run off water. Not one place to have a flat lie!!!! Wouldnt be bad but they actually want top dollar ($65) on weekends. So many other courses around that offer a nice round for the money. Needs months to recover from the lack of attention. Seems to be another of the Fred Smith minimum care of their courses like the no grass fairways goat track at olde liberty in Youngsville.

Have to laugh at some of the past reviews. I have played at Eagle Ridge over the past year several times, and always had a pleasant experience. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The layout of this course is really fair and challenging, and plays tough from the tips. The greens are always in great shape and roll true. I would recommend this course to any one looking for a good challenge to test your skills. I will play there again. Cons: The only thing that I would say negative about this course on is price of the bag of balls for the range. For the size of it I would say its worth $3 and not 5.

I played nine holes with my daughter and we really enjoyed the course. Check-in was a breeze and the folks in the club house were terrific. I loved the practice area, it was very large and included a bunker area as well. There was some winter kill that effected the fairways and greens but Ive seen that with a lot of our courses this year. Even with some bare spots on the greens they putted very nicely, the speed felt the same on every hold. I would rate this course five once the fairways and green fill in and I would suggest they work on killing some of the weeds. Ill be back :-)

I would love to give this course a negative score. First time coming to the course and it is the hardest place to find. No signs telling you which way to go in a subdivision to get to the clubhouse. We established 12 tee times, the guy set us up at the wrong course to start with. We had a big group and we were all paying and they wanted to limit us. The course is crap at best. I would rather play at a minigolf than this. Service was horrible. No body coming around offering drinks. The course is in rough shape and isnt taken care of. STAY AWAY. Go spend your money somewhere else.

This course is about average. If you are still learning the game of golf this is not a bad course to play. There are some shorter par 4s that bring strategy into play. If I remember correctly a power fade works very well on this course. If you are a slicer of the ball, which many newbies are, you can play that on this course. The greens were ok when I went to the course but they were not amazing. I am a member of Hasentree so I cant really make an assessment on greens that are played by the public.

Who did Eagle Ridge pay to write these good reviews? I will never play golf here again. Customer service in the dining area was horrible. The employees were too busy talking amongst themselves. It took 10 minutes just to get greeted for food and drinks at the turn. After we finally got our food the hamburger I ordered was raw. The golf was halfway decent and the gentleman working the pro-shop was very nice. Other than that I rate it two thumbs down.
