The course is not bad, but the people are extremely rude. Today I played there with my super beginner friend. Only after we finished the first 9 holes, we heard that there is a tournament and it was about to start soon. When we were heading for the 10th hole green after tee shots, one of the employers came up and asked us to speed up and not to let the tournament players wait behind us. We tried our best and my friend sometimes had to pick up his ball on the fairway to speed up. But three marshals approached us in turn and pushed us to speed up. One of them suggested us to skip a hole, and another approached us even on the 18th hole! These people ruined our Saturday round by literally stalking us all the way through back 9 holes. If they had told us about the event beforehand, we would not take our time eating snack after the first 9 holes, or would have taken cart instead of walking. We got really angry and after the round told the manager about what happened.What he said was we were just too slow and everything was our fault! It took us about 4hours and 50 minutes to finish the round , but it was partially because the players in front us in the front nine. They were really slow and make us wait more than 4 times. This place is the worst I’ve ever been. I can bear with bad course but can’t with bad people. Don’t ever Never play here!

We liked the course a lot. Greens were very nice, tees were good and level, fairway were thick, bunkers were very playable and the rough was good, too. Plus, the little detail things, such as bad turf next to greens, long grass along creek banks, bumpy cart paths, construction projects, etc. were all taken care of, which you dont always find even on more upscale public courses. The maintenance staff seems to be ahead of the game. Also, the course was not surrounded by houses, which we enjoyed very much. The price was right, too!

Occoneechee is a fun, unpretentious course that is well maintained with excellent greens. Ball washers with soap and clean towels and plentiful cold water stations are little touches that show the place is well run. The staff is cordial and the price is quite fair for the overall experience. The course is also very walkable which is a significant plus.

Great coarse, friendly staff.. Cost is very reasonable especially weekday afternoon.. Driving range, putting green, and chipping practice areas are in great shape! This is a local gem in my opinion..

Greens were nice, fairways not in the best shape. Id say about $10.00 too much to play 18 but not a bad course.
