We had a group there for my wifes birthday recently, and their staff was consistently rude and incompetent. First they tried not to accept an email discount they had sent us despite the fact that it was clearly valid. Then the guy acted put out because I wouldnt pay for everyones shoes at once (I already paid for everyones games). We got halfway through our second round of games when the screens froze up. Figuring we needed to pay for more games, we went to the front, but instead of just letting us pay and resume our games, another guy reset one of the lanes and left the other one frozen (while waving us away with his hand and asking us not to "narc him out to his manager"), so we had to start over with 8 people in one lane. Finally, instead of leaving the other lane frozen, they put another big group on it, which made it very cramped and awkward (not to mention smoky). When we were done and went to return our shoes, the first cashier asked if we were all done on our two lanes. When I told him we were done but there was a different group on one of the lanes, he again got irritated and asked "If theyre not with you, then who are they?" I pointed out that, given that they werent with us and I wasnt the one who sent them to the lane, I obviously didnt know who they were. The lanes and equipment themselves are fine, and the bars OK, so maybe if you catch them when some better employees are working, theyd be OK. But I wont be going back.

I had always came to this Bowling Ally and the employees always been friendly. This time I went and the assistant manager "Joe Parks" he was very rude. I was trying to explain the wrong information they gave me the last time about free coupons. He told me "it doesnt say free shoes" which I understand and i can also read i told him. After I told him that, he said "You know we can leave it like this or I can just tell you theirs no open lane" What type of Assistant Manager is he?? To a customer that comes often and his a manager? No idea how he got that position. Simply I asked why he was charging us for shoes if they told us it will be free next time you bring coupon, because we had paid for 4 of other kids that couldnt make it. So they gave us 4 free tickets and I just wanted to let him know what they told me was not clear information. He was getting smart didnt even listen, simply interrupted me while I was talking. He doesnt deserve to be a assistant manager at all if he doesnt listen to his customers and gives the best customer service; thats what makes your bills paid when you come to work and actually do your job the correct way. Hope you guys others dont bump to someone rude like him and hope this review will get good results and make him a better person. "Realizing your mistakes makes you a better person". God bless this men.

Im not one to give bad reviews, but this place was pretty bad. We bought their Groupon for two hours of bowling with shoes for two people. It was $19. We bought it Friday at 8pm and went at 9:45pm and bowled for 2 hours. We had fun. We went to take my husbands younger brother to bowl, and bought the Groupon for 2 hours of bowling for 4 people. We did the same thing as before and showed up an hour after purchase. The person behind the desk refused us entry, stated that we have to wait 24-48 hours to use it. I told him that we were previously allowed in and was not aware of this policy. The place was dead. We had a child with us. He still refuses us entry, tells us we have to come back. We tell him we cant and that were disappointed that we were given entry once and now theyre going back on their policy. It was THEIR mistake, they should allow us due to that and tell us from now on to follow the policy. I am super frustrated with this location. The manager was rude beyond belief in front of a family and a child, paying customers. We will not be back. Buffaloe lanes or rainbow lanes are a much better deal with such a kind staff. I recommend not wasting your time here for corporate, rude staff and go to a family owned place instead.

The lanes are not maintained and the manager, Mike, is highly unprofessional and rude. He actually said to our group in a nasty way "Are you going to stay until 2?" Being that they were open until 2, we had every right to do so, but that is soooo inappropriate to say to a customer. My husband also witnessed him berating an employee for absolutely no reason that he could deduce. We will not return so they will lose out on the significant amount of money we spent that night in the future. I am leaving this review so that the owners know why they arent making more money on what should be a turn-key operation.

Meh. Your average quality bowling chain. My two cents: seems to care more about its bottom line than the experience it creates for bowlers. Ive noticed some of the wood boards on lanes rising up a few times, which is incredibly annoying when youre trying to break PRs. Needless to say, the lanes FEEL to be in GREAT need of repair. Sometimes, youll even catch the ball wobbling uncontrollably mid-to-end lane. Also, expect to be seated right across the concessions/bar if the bowling alley is on the emptier side. Cannot recommend or not recommend. There is better to be found in Raleigh, however.

Dont bring your children here, they dont allow anyone to protect themselves at all. No weapons at all, even if you have a CCP. Not only does that strip law abiding citizens of their right, it puts everyone in mortal danger. Too close to Durham, look at the crime there, because they make the possession of any protection illegal.

I thought $6 per game was VERY high. The guy behind the counter was a great help. The approach to the lanes were stiff, meaning they werent sticky but I couldnt slide to the approach...really changed everything. I probably wont go back only because of the approach. Heck, the tile floor before the approach was smoother!

The bowling alley is non-smoking and has been for some time. Some of the staff is a little cooky, but what can you expect from bowling alley employees? Weve been there 3 times and only once was it remotely "busy." We still didnt have to wait for a lane. It is a bit pricey, but they have great package deals.

I ordered food that was never received. We ordered a pitcher of beer, apparently everyone drinking needed to go to the bar to get a mug/glass, they only allowed 2 for a party of 6. One person was unable to bowl, they didnt have adequate balls with large finger holes.

Thought our family bowling days were finished with the closing of The Alley at NCSU, but discovered the AMF Lanes tucked in near Duraleigh and Glenwood and what a great venue. Lots of lanes, lots of balls and priced right for a family and friends nights for bowling.

We didnt like how long it took to get a lane. There were SEVERAL lanes open and the counter help walked around talking instead of getting waiting customers asigned to lanes. I think the staff needs better customer service training.
