This vineyard is atrocious. We are not fans of muscadine wines, however sometimes we have been surprised, but we always love the chance to visit wineries when given the chance. We stopped by, and honestly thought it was closed down. A lot of the vines were over grown, and possibly even dead. The tasting room had been neglected, we asked for a tasting and the owner acted almost inconvenienced. He stepped to the back room and we could hear him washing our tasting glasses... The tasting consisted of 5 "wines", and were so thick and sweet, almost sour, you could barely swallow. The last, a cab franc, had gone bad and was soured. Dont waste your time. Or your stomach.

July 31, 2011: Call before you go. Even though the winery was supposed to be open the day we went, the owner was out of town and there were no wine tastings that day. That would have been nice to know before the 45 minute ferry ride. Not sure why they couldnt have another employee do the tastings. We met with a number of people that day that went away disappointed. It didnt help that the winery up the street was closed as well (foreclosed - and the new owners were ripping up the vines.)

do not waste your time with this over priced sub-standard vineyard. To participate in a tasting it costs almost 7 dollars and for only 5 small samples and you dont even get to keep your glass. The apple wine is one of the worst I have ever tasted. If you are in Knotts Island go to moonrise bay vineyard they are pleasant to be around the facilities are great and the wine is excellent. Also it costs 5 dollars for 8 wines and you keep the glass.

The Viognier this vineyards produced is great ! It is aromatic full-bodied white wine of a rich taste and creamy mouthfeel which leaves you wanting more. I really like the aroma taste and the warmness when it gets to my stomach. Sometimes I felt it is really like the Chinese famous liquor "MaoTai" but with a lower alcohol content. STRONG recommend. Just bought ten, will buy more when next visit.

We went to the farm today July 2015, best peaches I have ever eaten (pick your own) The trees are so laden with beautiful peaches that I stood at one tree and picked my bag full The store is very old but has delicious wine. That is what counts!
