We had booked the romance package for a wedding we were attending. The meal at the wedding wasnt very good. The chicken was dry and tasteless and the vegetables were too salty. Our room was okay and we did like the chocolate covered strawberries and champagne we got with the Romance package. However we were hassled multiple times about our free breakfast buffet by the waitress. The package also came with a 2pm late check-out. A man in a suit came up to our room around noon to see how much longer we would be in the room. Then around 1 we got a phone call asking if we were ready to leave. We checked out at about 1:15. I complained to Alex at the front desk when we left and he didnt bother to apologize about the breakfast hassle and [old me that he didnt have is registered for a late check-out. He asked if we had asked for a late check out. I showed him the email which showed the romance package and told him we booked it for extra money. He then proceeded to run the bill for me. I went to pay with my phone using Samsung Pay which uses MST and works with pretty much any pay terminal. He told me it didnt work. I said Id like to try it once and started to put the phone on the terminal. He belligerently told me it doesnt work multiple times and then said "No, that doesnt work." Rather forcefully before I could get it set up and I took it to mean that the terminal was actually broken and he would be putting my card info in by hand so I apologized for the misunderstanding and have him a card. He immediately stopped it through the machine and charged me. I said "I thought the machine didnt work." And he responded, "no we just dont have that Apple or Android thing you pay with it doesnt work here." I told him it was Samsung Pay and all I asked was to try it because its different and usually works. He didnt have a clue and just said people have tried it before. I said "Samsung Pay?" And he just ignorantly responded that you cant pay with your phone. To make matters worse he charged me $18 for valet parking that was listed on my email as $12. When I went back to get my money back he asked me who told me it was only $12 and after being shown the email he said that that was the old rate. He did fix it, but rather than apologize for the mistake he made it seem like he would do us a favor and give us the lower rate we booked for and refund my $6. The room was decent, but the staff were so rude and unknowledgeable.

We decided to stay at the Marriott because we were going to an event nearby(we planned this months in advance). We had a lot going on that night so we figured we would get room service instead of going out to eat so we didnt make reservations. Because there were two weddings going on in the hotel they closed down room service. So we could not get anything to eat and all the restaurant were booked within a 5 mile radius because it was a Saturday night. After calling Marriott the person was extremely rude and then they just connected me back to the hotel front desk. I was frustrated because one of the amenities of the hotel is room service so to close it down was more than frustrating and it ruined our night because we had no time to get food. Earlier on in the night I asked the front desk how far in advance we should order room service before we had to go and she said 45 min. So I did exactly that and then they told me they were not accepting orders. So not only did we not get food but we didnt even have enough time to get the car moved around and go to somewhere to get food. After the first experience with calling Marriott went horrible, I called again and spoke to a supervisor she said she would add 10,000 rewards points for us because of our issues and they never got added. So in the end it was not worth the price. It is clear that Marriott values making people at their events happier than their guests. This was my first stay at a Marriott and i will most certainly tell everyone I know to NEVER stay at a Marriott. I would have gotten better service and would have paid half the price if i stayed somewhere else.

I went here for a meeting for my brokerage company about labor law and pending registration. Im from the Binghamton area so getting to this particular building was a little complicated. I found my way to the hotel saw there was Valley out front and didnt want to pay the $12 fee for it so I tried to enter the parking lot directly across the street and was told by the lot attendant that you are not allowed to use that structure you have to use the parking ramp thats located a block around the corner. The ramp was disgusting the attendant was stationed in his car as all the ticket machines are broken. the stairwells smelled terrible. My Misfortune on this particular day was that it was garbage day and the garbage truck was stationed right outside of the stairwell boy did that kick it up a notch. $5 to park there all day which I will get back from my work so whatever. The hotel itself was very pretty. The staff directed me to the conference room. The continental breakfast was sparse and not all that tasty. Coffee was gross. The meeting room chairs were comfortable but the room was freezing. AC seem to be on full blast the entire time we were there which made it not only hard to hear the speakers but also hard to concentrate past your pure freezing.

This was my third or fourth time staying here and it remains one of my favorite Marriotts to stay at. Its within about half a mile of some good restaurants and a part of town with a lot of live music. Ive heard it was completely renovated within the past few years, and it shows. I think Ive given a few other Marriotts some sub par reviews because this one sets the bar so high. The hotel was originally built in the 1920s (I think), and the historic look and feel have definitely been preserved. Its one of those classic buildings with intricate ceilings and lighting, but with modern renovations where needed. It also has one of the best, if not the best, gyms Ive ever been to at a hotel. I like to cycle and they have a couple very nice spin bikes there.

Marybeth and I (David DiNardo) would like to thank all of the Marriott Syracuse staff this weekend, as they have done a fabulous job for our wedding. We did a Rehearsal dinner in the Empire room on Friday night, Reception (Saturday) in the Grand Ball room, and Persian Terrace (Sunday) for brunch. All three events where perfect in every single way. From the food, to the service, and finally with the venue. All my guest where extremely happy. A special thanks to Lindsey Cole and team for there constant support and attention to details. They guided us in all the right directions and delivered a spectacular event. Any one thinking of getting married, should go there and speak with Lindsey! We had the best day of our lives! Thanks again,
