This is the place to go in the Saratoga area for mixed drinks. Yes, they are pricey, and its worth it on occasion. Due to the venues size, be prepared for an over crowded bar feel. Although usually the clients are friendly. This is also the place to go in the area for live jazz. Acoustics just seem to work out. And they always bring in good acts. One star is lost due to cover charge, age requirement of 22yrs (rumored to be to keep students out), and sometimes unpleasant staff. The door men rarely make eye contact; theyre more of a bouncer than a door man. Not classy. The bartenders are attentive to their drinks, but not always the clients. It always takes forever to get noticed to place an order. And almost always they serve out of order. They should be observant enough to know who came to the bar in what order and who to serve next.

I am really angry. I have close friends who I am planning to visit this summer and wouldve liked to come have a drink here. Apparently, this bar blatantly discriminates. The bartender, refused to serve them and basically ignored them for almost an hour. The clientele were complacent and basically made excuses that hes old. So, be forewarned LGBT community and their friends and supporters, do not give hard earned money to be discriminated against. I am a food and travel writer and plan to warn others! Ironic, we’re celebrating 4th of July and this continues to happen.

Ignore Marks comment - 9 is a perfect martini & whiskey bar, that only serves peanuts (except Friday afternoon - they offer a pretty darn good complimentary party sub). It is by no means a restaurant! Mike and his band of expert bar tenders do a wonderful job in all ways! And the weekend live jazz is always great!

9 Maple is dark wood...single malts served neat....perfect martinis....great adult crowd...hot jazz on the weekends....and is very small...which only adds to its charm.

Live Jazz Fri & Sat provide some nice vibes for late night relaxin. The space is a bit tight but never overcrowded, even during opening weekend for the race track.

Great ambiance for bourbon drinking. Friendly, old-timey bartender. Outside seating. Accepts credit cards. However, its a bit pricey. Like $10-12 a cocktail.

This is my FAVORITE bar in Saratoga, the atmosphere is mature yet cool & the spirits are high end. Have the espresso martini!
