I saw THE MUSICAL BOX here tonight (Sunday, March 5th, 2017) - This band recreates 1972, 73 , 74 Genesis - the Peter Gabriel era with Phil Collins on drums, Hackett, Rutherford and Tony Banks. This is THE BEST Genesis re-creation you will ever experience!! The Band GETS 10 STARS, not so for the "playhouse." - Now for the venue-> Small, quaint and friendly in a very nice upscale town (Ridgefield, CT.) Not a bad ride from Jersey on a Sunday night; Tappan Zee bridge to 684 North and cut across route 35 basically right into Ridgefield, CT. Every Seat is a good seat FOR VIEWING ONLY - The seats are from 1930 and provide no elbow room and you are packed like a Sardine similar to a coach flight on planes of yesteryear. If you are not in an aisle or on the end, you will feel "boxed in." The view of the stage is great from anywhere cause the place is so small, but be prepared to smell the odors (good or bad) from the people right next, in front and behind you. Be prepared to "fight" for the armrest and be bumping shoulders with people to your right and left. Otherwise, a cool venue- BUT its directly across from the Police Station and if youre puffing a doubie before the show, watch out for unmarked security guys in dark jackets walking the lot as if they are concert-goers, they ARE NOT! They are looking to harass the general public with regard to weed, drinking or even something worse. You can get Arrested in the parking area - unknowingly !! Have fun and enjoy the show - I did many times here.

Went to the Playhouse for the first time to see a concert. Sat up in the balcony and was impressed. The sound was great and could see everything! If there is anything that was a bother it would be the intimacy of the space. Got a knee in the back a few times by the person behind me (I also gave it to the guy in front of me, Im 61) but you cant blame too many people with the way the size of the place is and how close the seats are. There is a bar and concession stand in the lobby area. Overall I would definitely go there again, its a neat place! I dont believe there is a bad seat anywhere to see from.

We went to a viewing of Dirty Dancing for the movies 30th anniversary. The genius management of this place had the brilliant idea to serve alcohol before the show. The audience was 95% middle aged rich blonde Ridgefield women and we all know how they get when theyre drunk. We had to leave 30 minutes into the movie, because the drunks wouldnt stop talking and hollering every time Swayze was shirtless or when he delivered a witty one liner. Management was doing nothing to shut these women up.

I saw a classic movie here and the theater is fine. Nothing wrong with it really, but the speakers arent as good or loud as a normal movie theater. The screen is a decent size, but sitting closer than normal is probably the way to go here. The popcorn was okay. It tasted like they added no butter or salt at all, but they do offer to add butter if youd like and they have salt available.

Great venue! There is a lower level and a balcony, and every seat has a good view. They host some really high caliber musicians here. The playhouse creates for a very personal experience. Gotta love the exorbitantly priced alcoholic beverages, but thats what you have to expect from any concert venue. I will definitely be returning here for future shows!

This theatre has been very generous with The Little Wonders, they give tickets to people that are undergoing cancer treatment. It has been a blessing to my family. We have seen some very awesome shows there and the staff is always kind and helpful. Love the Ridgefield Playhouse!

The venue is the old Ridgefield High School auditorium. Capacity is 500. They tend to book great acts. The prices tend to be about 50% higher than tickets at Infinity Hall which I feel is a better theater for musical performances.

Ive seen a couple shows here. Lovely theater. Small, proscenium with orchestra and balcony. Reminds of theaters heyday and vaudeville stages. Just charming. :)
