Tilt Nightclub has it going on when it comes to great music and dancing, always offering up a good time. Tilt is located right on Central Ave., which is a little bit of a rough neighborhood, but the club offers a HUGE parking lot in back. The cost to get inside is typically 5 bucks if you are over 21, and they take CASH only. The interior of the club is the NICEST I have seen to date here in the Rochester area, as it consists of 3 large party areas. The first area is the Atrium which is an inside/outside smoking area, and what I believe to be the most accessible bar on a busy night. Speaking of bar, they offer a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Drink from 9 to 11 PM, and the drinks are STRONG. I love all the bartenders here, as most I have known personally, and always hook me up when I return. It is also a BONUS to see the fire acrobatic shows that are performed in the Atrium, along with another DJ outside to blaze the beats. Speaking of beats, the music here consists of top notch dancing and techno. The best music is played on Saturday Nights when the DJ is free-styling it instead of playing on a pre-set track. The second area consists of the waterfall bar, which has a lot of awesome bright colorful lights-taste the rainbow anyone? This is the best intimate area to sit down with a cocktail while another DJ is blazing the beats in this room as well. The final room consists of the MAIN DANCE floor; it is HUGE, as I am never one to turn down a big opportunity. The back-drop of the dance floor consists of a large screen projecting various music videos. Surrounded around the dance floor are a multitude of tables and chairs to relax on when you need to take a break. I can dance on this floor for HOURS, and never get bored if the music continues to be good. Tilt has 2 large dance cages to grind up on giving you that quick opportunity to be a hooker for a couple of minutes or 20. Now, it is weird that on a lot of Saturday nights the dance floor is DEAD, but you make the most of it, so tear up that dance floor like the power bottom you are. Worry that the cliental is too young?, have no fear, cause at the end of the night youll be topping that stage in no time. Speaking of stage, the drag shows are incredible as Samantha Vega really knows how to show off her ta tas. The Drag Dressing Room needs to be EXPANDED; even Muthers would give the drag queens bigger spaces to work out of. Lastly on serious note I hear this from other gay men who are NEW to the Rochester area, "If youre thinking about spending an evening here, bring your own group of friends because you wont make many here. The problem with the young gay community in this region is that are unreceptive, impersonal, unwelcoming and unsociable, unlike other parts of the country. It almost comes off as mass insecurity. Not much of a sense of pride or community, at all, only in themselves." Honestly this statement applies to everybody GAY or STRIGHT who GREW up here in Rochester, as we are a superficial city, get over it. Its going to take more time to break the ice with people here, as you have to understand that we all grew up with each other in some which, way, shape, or form. I used to be the kid that no one knew to being the kid that everybody knows without a private life, so you take the good with the bad. Overall: HUGE Dance Floor, Great Music, An Outside Atrium, The Waterfall Bar, Blazin DJs, Great Drinks, and One Heck of a Dance Cage....Of Course I Will Be Back.

Bartenders and bouncers are very unprofessional and seem to think they are on a power trip. They kicked me and my friends out because I "washed the Xs off of my hands." The washed-up bouncer at the door claimed that the Sharpie on her hands from two days ago was still perfectly visible even after she had taken her six kids to the community pool. Im sorry that the bouncers at this club have never heard of soap. Maybe they should try some before questioning how fast their so-called "permanent marker" rubs off of peoples skin. Try hiring some people who havent been bullied as children and dont feel the need to have a job that allows them to have power over others to justify their existence. May I recommend any other club or bar on Alexander or East instead? Save yourself a painful night full of outdated music, cacophonous transitions, and mediocre drag shows and go have fun anywhere else instead.

Great place to hang out on a thursday or friday night and enjoy some fun drag queens. Lets admit it, this is Rochester not Vagas so please if you are expecting high budget flash and glam you might be a little disappointed. These ladies are amazing entertainers and do their best with what they got and they are engaging and good humored. Rochesters #1 gay bar if ive read correctly but it attracts all types. they dont print any information on wrist bands, if they did at one point as of 2012 they dont. drinks are half off until 11 and its always clean and well taken care of. ive never had a problem with any security or bad drinks. great place to go and just have a good time. if you are looking for a cheap date or a cheap drink i would try billy joes busted bar.

I have been a customer here for over 4yrs now and I enjoy going there on Thursdays & Saturdays but one thing I can tell you is that the DJ plays music that is a bunch of crap. If you see that a lot of people go wild and crazy when you play music that we all know from the radio, why would the DJ refuse to play music that we all like?!?!? Sometimes what you hear on Saturday is the same from Thursday. Music sucks but crowd, show and drinks I have no complaints. Go to tilt for yourself one day, youll see what Im talking about! New DJ please!

Terrible experience. The security needs to be retrained to be more respectful towards the guests and people that pay lots of money to enter and buy drinks in the facility. Was kicked out without reason by rude staff who yelled and cursed at us on the curb. Do not go to this club you have other choices. Especially if you are part of the LGBTQIA+ community you deserve more reapect than what these low life bouncers give.

I consider my self an attractive male, however i visited Tilt and women seemed to have no interest. They all seemed repulsed at my advances. Men in the club were very comforting. They assured me i was attractive and bought me a barrage of drinks. One doctor i met at the bar allowed me to stay at his condo and even gave me a free colonoscopy in the morning. This bar is confusing.
