Vertex is like cheers for the alternative crowd. After you go a few times you get to know people and it is like a big family. It does not have that "meat market" creepy feel that some clubs have and you will see and meet all kinds of interesting people. If you arrive early there may not be many on the dance floor but by midnight it is crowded and the dance floor is full. It really is a place where you can be who you are and not feel awkward. The first reviewer on this page, ignore him and come find out for yourself. The owner is awesome, the club has a unique look and feel and the DJs and music are great. I love to dance and Friday has become my favorite night. DJ Energon will take requests and is like a priest of rhythm as he sends out the music. So if you really love to dance and want to dress up in anything from your jeans, to a complete goth outfit or even a chicken suit....Vertex is your place. I hope to see you there.

I feel that this is one of Rochesters best alternative bars. If you are into underground music, whether it be electronic or rock, you will always hear something you like. A great mix of styles of music. Saturday is my favorite day to go and dance, as more electronic music is played. The drinks are really cheap and the admission price is low. Lots of room to dance. Requests accepted as well! A huge outdoor patio (sometimes its heated). The bar has a pool and a dart board. Lots of room to hang out, whether you want to chill out at the bar downstairs or head up and get yoru dance on! I have only been going to Vertex for 3 years, but I feel like its my home, as everyone there is super nice and it really is like one big family.

So, I am not really the typical person that would go to this club. I actually am more into the whole hiphop scene, but I personally had a GREAT time. The people were really friendly and inviting not stuck up or anything like that. I do not know what the person in that one review was talking about it being empty either because I got there when it first opened and there were already a good number of people. If I had fun at the club with it not even being my type of enviroment anyone could go and have a great time. Vertex is one of Rochesters greatest secrets. <3

The people are awesome. You wont see fights breaking out over whos the "top dog" of the club, like you might see at some other places. Vertex is more like a big family, which accepts everyone as part of the pack. You can always feel safe because you know that everyone looks out for each other. Drink prices are very reasonable, especially during the first hour of business when they offer the best drink specials in town (literally). I love the music, the staff, the people, and everything else that makes it so great. Vertex deserves six stars out of five.

This is a great place to hang out as opposed to all the other clubs in the city. @ Vertex youll make friends as you would at any bar but its also hopping like any decent club. Its a very friendly place to hang out, the drinks are good, (and cheap), the music is amazing and its stuff you wont here anywhere else in the city. Youll find every walk of life here. Not just "gothies". Old and young. Black and white. Its also a little more = between the sexes so ladies ought to feel more comfortable there. Good place, Good music, Good people.

OK, so maybe Im bias since Im a DJ there, but despite what the "gentleman" below has to say, Vertex is a great place to hang with a great bunch of people. Im not sure what his problem is (I love it when a review says more about the reviewer than it does about the place. Insecure much buddy?) Vertex is not always empty, Saturdays are especially busy, regularly pushing the 175-200 people mark. (A lot of people complain about it being too crowded in fact). But check it for yourself, keep an open mind and I bet youll enjoy yourself.

All the fat/ugly/screwed-up/squalid (pick any combination) girls a guy could want. Ladies dont feel left out, you can find the ghoul/goblin of your dreams. Seriously, this club is the last stop for people whove realized they cant go anywhere else. If this is a place where you feel you fit in, you have pschological problems to address. This place is always empty because most people realize this after a few visits and never return. Skip this club and go to one where the clientel is, at the very least, respectable.

Great club. Everyone is very friendly, such a departure from other "clubs" in Rochester. No bros, no fake tans, no egos, no drama... $3 to get in, but the drinks are cheap and the bartenders are on their game. Excellent music on Friday and Saturday night. If you love New Wave and 80s dance music, Saturday nights with DJ Darkwave are a treat. Dance floor is fun and a non-judgment zone. Just have fun and do what you want. A bit removed from other bars/destinations, but well worth the walk!

Vertex is one of the best clubs around and it is by far my favorite. Most everyone there is like a family. There might be occasional fights, but rarely, and everyone will be there for one another if needed. The drink specials are amazing, the music is great, and the people are top notch. All of the DJs do good sets, and youll always find a crowd dancing. Not to mention, Patty and Eric are some of the best bartenders youll ever find. Check it out if you havent already.

This place is awesome. Best drink specials in Rochester, and a very friendly environment regardless of the dark atmosphere. Perfect blend. The only bad review on this page is by Ben Gardner, but if you look at his other reviews, he seems to just choose companies at random and give them terrible reviews.

I found to Like this place after being able to see it for the first time, I felt like I was in my own home blasting all my favorite Rock music, metal, Dub, Electronica, etc... Makes it easy for my around the corner chill place when stressed..

Host was rude. Would not go ever again. Overpriced and lacks the amenities that you would expect. Also its cash only, which can be an issue. They do not have good customer service and the Old Toad down the road is much better.
