I’d like to share the worst situation that I had in the Halloween party at Le Poison Rouge this Saturday. The party itself was good but what happened at the end made it the worst night in my life. On my way out, I went to the coat check to pick up my coat and purse, and I realized that I had lost my coat-check ticket number so I tried to explain the situation to the attendant there and I told him that I could describe my stuff and my documents are inside as a proof that they really belong to me, but attendant started to yell at me and called the security guy to throw me out of the club. The security came and grabbed my arm so hard that I instantly started screaming out of such a horrible pain that I have never felt before (I have bruises as a proof) and he pulled me outside without giving me the chance to get my belongings, throwing me out with just my thin Halloween costume dress on, just to remind you it was snowing and freezing outside. I have never heard of loosing your ticket can be such a crime and so disturbing for the club that they need to instantly throw you out without your things and bully you for that. I have paid my ticket to enter this club and also spent my money for drinks, but at the end when I try to get something that belongs to me in a very polite way, I get physically abused and left outside without my documents, keys, jacket, money…INSANE! I called police and it took me over 2 hours with their presence to get this insane situation cleared. But there are 2 reasons I am telling this story. One of them is that Le Poisson Rouge is probably the last place where you want to go. My friend told me she and people she knows didn’t have good experience there but still I didn’t believe it, and now I am telling you that it is TRUE! Second, as a woman and a non-American citizen, I assure you this is the worse situation you can get into. Having your hand squeezed by the bouncer, left on the cold and without anything of your own, being questioned by police as if you were a criminal and not being supported in this situation which is obviously not of any crime. I JUST LOST MY TICKET. So if you REALLY need to go to le Poisson Rouge, make sure you don’t loose your ticked, because it will take you 4 hours to get your things back and maybe go in the summer when it is not that cold. This place really hits the spot for a certain crowd...just not for me. I came here with a friend and it was 90s night (If I remember correctly). While the bouncers were cordial and the atmosphere was somewhat friendly... the crowd is overwhelmingly white ---yes I know we are in America--and frat-like-americans who look fresh out of college (nothing wrong against that type of aesthetic and culture, just a fact about my experience). Thus, as i have read in some reviews below, about girls pushing and yelling and people who cant handle their alcohol and just gyrate with whoever is close by, are true from my experience. The bathroom facilities here is also not up to par...so the lines can get really ridiculous. With all that said, the music was solid. My friend, on the other hand, didnt really mind it and had more fun (so I guess it all comes down to what one is looking for).

Il fatto di averci visto uno spettacolare concerto della band iraniana 127 ha sicuramente contributo allottima impressione che mi ha fatto questo locale ... In aggiunta personale cortese se è frequentazione giovane ed amichevole hanno completato la serata. Il programma di concerti è sempre ricco...da monitorate quindi se si vuole assistere a qualche concerto underground a N.Y.

Went for a show - got the tickets with seating. Seating around the stage was a bit awkward (the angles/orientation of tables and chairs) There are pretty good views of stage though, since the place isnt too large, so fairly intimate. I thought sound for the show could have been better - the music from the instruments was considerably louder than the vocals which was unfortunate since the singer was the main event. 2 item minimum (didnt really seem enforced) Food: The sandwiches were very good - spicy chicken was decently spicy and tender; French dip sandwich - moist meat, the dip was very light Cocktails for $14 and beers on tap for around $7 Service was okay. Settling the bill took a bit longer than Id prefer.

Change your name and go f*** yourself. I bought 2 tickets online for Sebastien Tellier and asked 4 friends of mine to do the same. The concert was supposed to start at 11 PM and they asked us to come at 10:30 PM. So we did. Under a cold rain, the line did not move at all. The only guy who was supposed to handle the situation let all the Guest List beautiful people go enter. At midnight, we decided to leave. I asked online for a refund. Check the answer : "Unfortunately we can not process you request for a refund as the event was not canceled. As stated a time of purchase- there are no refunds or exchanges". As stated in my ethical point of view, I hope your club will burn.

The venue is ok performance wise. The food is below average and the service was bad. First, my gf waits for an hour to get her standard salad after they bring food to everyone else. Then, this French waitress brings a check with 3 drinks i didnt order. Ok, i ask her to remove them, she brings a check with 20% gratuity included and space for some extra tip. Well, i didnt think that deserved any gratuity, but being decent i left 15% gratuity. Lo and behold, i open my credit card statement and they charged me 20% gratuity anyway. Short story is -- watch you bill and your pockets there.

I went to Le Bingo at Le Poisson Rouge on Saturday night and it was so much fun! From 7:30 - 9:30pm every Saturday night you can hang out with the great hostess in drag and her trusty sidekick. Free to enter, $2 per bingo card. Drink specials (based on what the spinning wheel lands on) and prizes galore! We were a group of three, showed up around 7:15 and were able to get a table. It does get crowded, so go a little early and grab a drink. Drinks were served in plastic cups which surprised me. Id recommend going for Le Bingo. I have not been otherwise.

90s night every Friday is the best reason to go here. Le Poisson Rouge (LPR) looks like the type of place I would avoid at all costs. However, they surprisingly have pretty awesome concerts here as well as fun events. McCauley Culkin used to throw parties here once a month with a different crazy theme each time and even though that doesnt happen anymore, it is indicative of the types of fun and creative gatherings that LPR has on a consistent basis. My advice? Check out their calendar and hunt for the next strange, intriguing event!

This venue always has something interesting going on: live bands, theme parties, DJs spinning, and even bingo. The atmosphere is built around gorgeous contemporary art that looks to have been stolen from the MoMA. The acoustics arent the best, but are still better than most places in the city. Just be prepared for loud (like every other club scene). Drinks are expensive and sometimes tickets sell out. For popular events, expect a long line. Maybe convince a friend to grab you some filafel at Mamouns down the block while you wait.
