I am not giving this place three stars to be a dick, I just had a bit of a weird experience here. I would be willing to give it another shot. Anyway, I stopped by here after an Ugly God show for a nightcap. It was about 11PM, and it was packed. We managed to fight our way to the bar, but the beer selection left a lot to be desired, and they didnt have a few of the liquors and wines on the menu. When we pointed this out, the bartender told us that they were "really more of a music place." Maybe they are, but Id imagine if they want to make money as a bar theyll have to make a few improvements. There also was no music playing when we arrived- live or otherwise. Fairly pricey, as well. All in all, it struck me as an overly trendy addition to a neighborhood that maybe doesnt need all that. Id be willing to give it another shot, but whatever.

Its as if someone turned their large rec room into a house concert venue. Its just a rectangular room with a grand piano and folding chairs. The bar is in another room. There is no cover and they dont even serve drinks in the listening space. The owner has great taste and the artists appreciate him. Most importantly its a listening room. There are no distractions. People arent there to socialize or drink. They are there to pay attention to music. That means everything. The sound is good and so are the sightlines. Everything else is the cover, not the book.
