Hello, I just want you to be aware of what happened to me and my friends this Thursday (March 10th). We are from Chicago, coming with friends and spend some days here. We heard good things about your dance club, which made us want to go. We saw on the website that the ticket was between $15 and $20. We also saw that the DJ Ace Alvarez would play and it says (also on the website) that he is a hip hop style DJ. We got in Cielo at around 1am. They charged us $30 each. We got kinda confused but we paid anyway because we thought we would have a good experience. The problem was that the hostess was extremely rude. But again we didnt mind because we just wanted to get in. It was playing electronic and techno music (which is normal that plays electronic before the DJ starts with hip hop in most of clubs). After a few minutes we realized that the hip hop wouldnt start and we went to speak to the hostess. Again she was extremely rude and antiprofessional. Im also a hostess (on sugar factory) and I have never seen that terrible service before and I cant even imagine how she got the job. Anyway I tryed to talk to her about a refund and when I said this word (refund) she laughed on my face and said: "you are not getting your money back". After that suddenly the security pulled me back saying that he would call the manager. The manager came (he was tall and no hair). He didnt introduce himself to us he just came saying like "what??". I explained the situation to him really calm and kind, saying that I was very disappointed and upset but he just said "we dont do refunds". He didnt say sorry, he didnt try to turn our night any better. After he said that I said "Ive never seen a service so bad like this before". Then he opened the door behind him and said: "so get out of here". Im perplexed. Im terribly sad. It couldnt be worst. The money doesnt matter. Seriously. We are just very disappointed how people can treat others like that. Its just not right. I hope someone do something about this horrible service.

Never seen so many H&M button downs in my life. I was enjoying the music, and two idiots were discussing how they are going to get home right in front of the booth. Go outside and talk it out. Lets not forget the staff with a bright flashlight checking for stuff every 5 minutes. Get glasses dude. Bartenders were friendly, the guy running the bathroom was nice. Bouncers were the worst; coat check this, and that pay this and that. You can say the same thing in a nicer tone and come across as a professional. What takes the cake is the disrespectful, arrogant shell of a woman that manned the entrance. If she is not the owner; you should probably put the guy running the bathroom in her place and let her do his job. She is too cool to look at the guest list. Too cool to speak to you. Im not on the list then all of a sudden Im on the list. She wont answer any questions. Threatened to deny me entrance for asking a simple question. Her aura reeked if unhappiness and killed my mood. If you are reading this; your hat wasnt that great, and nobody was impressed by you or the establishment. On my way out I barely ran into some girl that was hiding in the dark corner with her (boyfriend?) as I was going through the bathroom traffic. Her boyfriend grabs my arm like I killed somebody and tried to move/push me. I think he realized that he was too weak to manipulate my arm. I looked at my arm as he was trying to push/pull it then looked at him and decided this was not going to go anywhere, so I helped him out and showed him how to do it properly. Broke the grip; so he starts the yapping blah, blah. Do something or move on fella. All of a sudden bouncer rushes in and tells me to chill out 100 times. Mind you, the weak little manmore was almost twice my size. After hearing chill out over and over I decided to continue my journey to the nearest exit. My walk from Cielo was more fun than the whole Cielo experience.

Drinks werent anything particularly special and were not at a price point to make me want to buy many (~$18 including tip). The outdoor smoking area is lovely - it has plenty of seating, heaters for when its cold, and even a little bit of greenery. The seating indoors is comfortable and the decor while nothing extraordinary was totally fine - its pretty dark anyway so its hard to tell, right? The dance floor, while not large, was very comfortable for the amount of folks that showed up for a Friday night of local house DJs. Earlier DJs of the night were so-so, but the guys playing from roughly 12-4 were really quite good. The lighting over the dance floor was well executed. The biggest negative of this place is that once per week there is a guy (who I later discovered is Anthony Lamont, who is somewhat of a New York fixture) who comes in dressed as some sort of character (the night I went, he came as Taurus) and talks nonsense into a microphone at various points throughout the night. I have no issues with characters and eccentric people walking around and even talking to people, but please do not give this person a microphone. I dont want to hear someone counting to four in Spanish, preaching that "music doesnt discriminate", or welcoming folks to Cielo from foreign countries. I certainly dont need to have my night punctuated by someone yelling "daaaaaaaaaayum" (which kind of sounded like a cat meowing) into a microphone. That being said, he only comes in once per week and I think it varies which night so you might get lucky and not encounter this particular aspect of an otherwise great club.
