We got in the ticket line a shade before the stroke of midnight, and though it extended to the corner of the block, we were able to get scanned to enter in relatively hasty fashion. I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly security was (perhaps they could smell my newbie status and didnt want to scare me off). After getting to the dance floor, I verbally exclaimed to my partner in crime for the evening... "Holy crap, the dance floor is so small!" to which she agreed; from that point, I had to mentally prepare myself for potentially ratchet-ass pushing and shoving that Id be forced to endure as the night progressed. For the time being, I just took the time to enjoy the light show and the sound. As far as the visuals and audio are concerned, you could most certainly do worse. While Laidback Luke and the other acts didnt necessarily have mind melting visual FX, the LED quality and some of the blinky-flashing complimented the drops just fine. As far as the DJs were concerned, everyone did a fine job (saw some masterful spinning from Laidback Luke... as expected... as well as some surprisingly dark tech house from Lukes better half in the form of Gina Turner). Luckily, the ever affable demeanor of both myself and my partner in crime allowed us to make one-time/single-serving friends with some fellow revelers for the nights goings on... allowing us to increase our numbers as well as look out for each other on the dance floor. With that said, I am happy to report that ratchet levels didnt hit critical mass; to be honest, as a dude, as long as you move to the music, for the most part people will give you just enough space. Sadly, I cant speak for you lady-folk... I know that the thirst is real, and that when you get all dolled up and looking the way you do, it will unfortunately bring out the creeps (and I did see plenty of creeping going on this night); I must say, I was impressed by the creativity in some of the deflection techniques that some of you ladies were employing on some of the creepers (some old standards such as creating exclusive dance circles with your fellow ladies, as well as some highly gratuitous make-out seshes with your sista from another mista... Im not complaining). En sum dudes, just go here to dance if you enjoy the sound. Dont come here lookinna hook up, it just comes off super pathetic, and you end up just taking up space for people who actually wanna hear a sick bass drop (while clearly and curiously overdressing for the occasion); also, dont come here looking to get wasted, youll burn a hole through your wallet... pregame to a functionally drunk level so you dont stumble around gawking at all the pretties; and ladies, keep looking the way you look, but dont try to pack the front if you dont even care about the music... I understand that your selfies and snaps within close proximity to the DJ booth are gold (as far as your social currency is concerned) but as Ive said before, youre really just wasting space for those of us who want to shake our worries of the past week away.

Conclusion : A ÉVITER !!! A bon entendeur... Trouver un autre plan de night-club...

Where should I start?.............. I decided to go there to celebrate my birthday. I called 2 days prior and made a guestlist for 15 people, the girl who answered the phone was really nice and she told me just to be there before midnight. Well I got there around 11 with 7 people and there was NO ONE online and the guy at the door told me I had to wait to get in.. then he strolls over and asks me if I want to buy a bottle, and I said no.. not everyone is here yet so if we decide that it will be inside. 20 minutes later I got in. Then they tried charging me $20 at the door even though the girl on the phone told me a guestlist will get me in for $10. After finally getting in... the other half of my party arrived and they would not let them inside. I attempted to go outside to try and tell the jerk at the door that it was my birthday but he told me my guestlist was MAXED OUT. Maxed out? It was 11:30... there was barely anyone inside and my guestlist was for 15 people. WELLL.... the JERK at the door... told my boyfriend and the rest of the people that if he slipped the bouncers $200 they would let them in.. plus the cover charge... after fighting with the JERK at the door - I told my boyfriend to leave because it wasnt worth the money... I go back inside to find my friends laughing because Marquee - this "HIGH END - UPSCALE LOUNGE" was playing Miley Cyrus music.... just to my surprise shortly after they were playing Justin Beiber or whatever his name is.... So if you are looking to deal with bouncers who think they are god and "great" kiddie music - this place is for you! I wound up leaving and going to M2 I told them it was my birthday and what a horrible experience I had at Marquee and they let me right in... and we all had A BLAST!!!

---Marquee had a really sexy set up. The red carpet and velvet rope was a nice touch, I rarely find in ATL. The inside is perfect for the upscale EDM vibe. Its a nice size, but still intimate enough for you to be left standing outside if you dont know someone or reserve your spot. Lol just warning late arrivals because I made that mistake the first night. ---Half of the main room is the dance floor. In front of that is the DJ booth. The other half is comprised of tables and a bar. The decor is legit. Real wood and plush leather coaches. I say this because Ive been to some places where all you see is plastic and plexi. Oh, and ladies some of the sections have mirrors, so rest assure you should be able to take the perfect selfie ;-). ---If you get a section upstairs, you get to look over the entire club which is really cool for those of us that love to people watch. And of coarse, you have access to another bar and bathroom. Fun Fact: the bathroom attendant is really good about moving people along, so theres not a line. In clutch moments, you will be ever so thankful for him. Additional Notes: -The line was starting to get thick by 12:00AM-ish (Saturday night) -MYRSVP was the concierge I reached out to. Very happy with experience. We got in quickly which is such an advantage when its freezing outside (...and youre in heels). -They have coat check -Music is a mix between Top 40 EDM -Pretty people, trendy outfits, high energy -Drinks are kind of high, but that seems to be the NYC standard. A fireball was a little outrageous though....
