Soooo this place vexes me. On one side, most of the food that came out was good. On the other side, we had a little issue that wasnt really alleviated. Wasnt a horrible experience, but I wouldve gladly gave Phillys 4 stars if they had handled it properly. Lets brrak it down. Came with a squad of 7 for dinner including my boy, new wife, bro, sis, mom and pops in law. Apps: Calamari and buffalo cauliflower. Calamari was light, crispy and delicious. The red (schezuan style?) looking dipping sauce was excellent. The buff caul had blue cheese or goat cheese or some cheese chunk droplets all over it. They were tasty with a nice kick. Only wish there was more of each. Wasnt a small portion or anything, just wished there was more. Most of us ordered beef cheesesteaks with different toppings and dif cheeses. Mine had suayeed onions and peppers wit Wiz. Always money. Everyone who had a cheesesteak enjoyed it. This is their specialty afterall. Other orders: The sweet potato falafel. Fried Oyster Po Boy. The Salmon dish. Falafel was good (although our waitress asked how she wanted that cooked..not sure if thats an Albany/upstate thing). Oyster po boy was tasty (although one side of the po boy had about 2 oysters and the other side was loaded with like 9..Im not a stickler for that kinda stuff, but my wife is and she had the half w/ 2 on it, so i gave her some of mine). Salmon was where the stars start to get knocked off. As a whole, the dish was great. Salad was good, fried polenta cake thing was good, salmon was season nicely..buuuuttt it was raw in the middle. I literally heard Gordon Ramsay shouting in my head that the salmon was 2 seconds away from swiming upstream! So we had the waitress come over, but she didnt really know what to say or do..she said she hadnt been working there for a few weeks, but is that really a good excuse? She sent the salmon back. Took the whole half eaten plate. We all finished our meals as they prepped a new piece of fish. It came out on a small plate with no more salad or polenta cake and bro was pissed. He just boxed it to go and spoke to the manager. He was ok (I actually used to work under him when he was the head cook at McGillicuddys in New Paltz) didnt really help much but at least he took $10 off the order. There you have it. Mostly good food. Great cheesesteaks, onion rings and fries. Disheveled waitress was weak. Service on the undercooked salmon was trash. Oh but the drinks were flowin and they had a nice 2 for 1 deal on beers.

Where do i begin , well me and a group of friends went there for a friends bday. We had a few ppl ahead of us in line that were wearing shorts but didnt seem to be a problem as they checked thier id and let them in with no issue. We get up to the bouncers and go to my friend who happens to be african american and tells him they have a dress code of no shorts and no ripped jeans in which i was wearing , we state that we just watched them let a group in that were wearing shorts and they did the tough guy bouncer thing and told us if we changed and give tbem proper id we would get access , so we drove 25 mins back to albany to change , we get back and now they say we need 2 forms of id and get out of line and leave. We asked why were we getting treated like this and the guy said cause i can . Come to find out he was in charge. Then we noticed another group of black guys who were denied because they had shorts on , but seconds later a group of what appeared to be 3 college kids who were wearing pink , biege and light green shorts who only had to provide one form of id were let in with no problem .This made me Very upset and i felt it was very wrong. I feel embarassed and i felt me and my friends were stereotyped as well as a bunch of other ppl. I will never give them a dime again and i hope karma sees them soon

Awful establishment as a whole. My party of 6 attended the Mayweather/McGregor fight tonight, and the service and atmosphere were terrible. Our drinks had barely any alcohol in them, but the food was okay. Not to mention that they only gave us plastic cups, not glass, meaning that things were getting spilled on everyone everywhere. Way to be cheap at your customers expense. The servers and staff were screaming and yelling at people and acting very rude and aggressive. The party at the table next to ours was kicked out because they refused to pay for something they didnt even order, which the server brought to them anyway and charged them. The bouncers walk around trying to intimidate people and acting tough. The live footage of the fight kept cutting out, and the disco lights kept flickering on and off, causing headaches. Then, the waitress did not properly split our bill, resulting in a loss of our money and opportunity for her to pocket the extra cash. Lovely. The first time I went there, the drinks and food were disgusting. We sent back multiple drinks more than 3 times because they were terrible. Only went this time for the cheap view of the fight. We only have issues when we go, and will never return.

Went on a week night and it wasnt very busy. I havent been in awhile, but after the renovations and nice out door patio it was nice so we thought wed go. Jen was our waitress and made the entire experience one that made me say I wouldnt come back. We ordered drinks and food at the same time. It took 35 minutes for just the drinks to arrive and I asked about our appetizer and she said it would be right up. Another 25 minutes passed and the tables around us that had come after were already finished eating and leaving. The appetizer came out and I had asked to speak with a a manager. Jen didnt even come over once to say anything or check on our drinks. The food finally came after an hour and it wasnt even average. The manager stepped in after I found a hair in the soda and Jen was a ghost. Jen didnt bring any of the food out to other tables or ours so Im confused as to what she would have been so busy doing other than neglecting us. Im not sure why Phillys keeps her there and maybe she should think about a different job. I wouldnt go back, but If your not hungry and have time to hang out the patio is nice. I think the owner should invest in better staff after all the money he spent on the facilities.

Bouncers are unpleasant pos, who like to discriminate against people because "they think they look too young" me and my friend are both 23 years old and all of our friends who came out for our birthdays which are one day apart were all older than 21 years of age providing completely valid and authentic New York State Identification.. two forms of ID? BS, the group after us was a group of young ladys who only needed to provide one form of ID with no hassle whatsoever including a few of my friends who arrived prior. When asked if they actually scan the IDs the bouncers response was "oh well, we do it better." Followed by "well you guys do look really young" Like seriously? I didnt know being clean shaven defines mine or anyone elses age there bud. My good friend in a prior experience with coming here, who has a valid driver license was denied entry by a bouncer who said "youre not getting in until you tell us your real age.." right, so. I will definitely recommend that no one goes to this horrible bar with terrible service and ignorant discriminatory staff.
