I went to this place on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy or very slow. Alot of locals were in and out of the store and talking with the worker. MOnster Aquarium does have alot of Predatory Cichlids and Aquaria, but not much in community fish. When you enter you see a Show tank with hundreds of red parrot fish in it and some huge red Severums. What i didnt like about this tank was that it had two large red severums that were floating against the front glass, common signs of them being picked on by the larger king kong parrots. I know that it was aagression because their fins were bitten. The tank was in front of the owner and he did not look as if he cared. Also, i noticed a red foot tortoise in a box on the display floor. It looked like it was a store pet and placed there just for the moment. I did not like that though and i noticed they had two red eared sliders, just sitting in a sink. NOT GOOD! I really think that alot of the people in this AREA, do not really care for other animals other than the ones they keep and enjoy. That is Cruel and i think someone needs to call the ASPCA animal cops. They do get three stars for the uniqueness and variety of cichlids. But as for care of the other animals, they get 1 star. I will go back to see if they got these animals in a proper enclosure.

They specialize in ADA products and have a lot of good stuff for the novice and seasoned aquarist but make sure you do your own research before buying from them. In general, and particularly for the fish keeping neophyte, their staff cannot be trusted to dispense sound advice. For example, I bought a plant and a snail from them to put in the same tank and the next morning the snail had largely devoured the plant. Verify everything independently before committing.

I went to about 7-8 different Aquariums on Long Island and Flushing looking for Nerite Snails and all of them didnt have any. Learned about Monster Aquarium from someone on an aquarium forum and they vouched them having great stock with rare aquatics so I decided to visit and low and behold, they had what I wanted. Excellent price too, definitely going to come back here for my future aquarium needs.

The worker here was very helpful and knows his fish, I came to buy some more tetras and a java fern and I ended up leaving with a shrimp and a panther crab as well! Although in the store it was very quick, parking was a nightmare, but there is a parking garage across the street if you cant find street parking (and you probably wont). Still, all in all a wonderful pet store.

I visit their store almost every week and they provide me with great prices and discounts on fishes I buy... I always like to see what is new and am impressed everytime I go there... these girls are very friendly and nice. I never rate a store but when I do that means they are very good on what they do.

I had watched " The king of DIY" on youtube while he was at monster aquarium and descided to check it out myself. I live 2 hrs away and this store is better in person. I ended up leaving with a beatiful super red dragon flower hirn, best prices. Looking to set up another tank for another flower horn.

Honestly one of the greatest store. Staff is very helpful with any questions and gives advices if you ask them. New fishes brought in weekly usually Sundays. Sundays were crazy busy, staff was a bit short handled but they take their time to help me even though I wanted to pick my fishes.

Great place to visit for any level aquarist.Anything from small community fish to large exotic oddball fish including a great variety of plants.Very knowledgeable and welcoming staff. I can also guarantee they have the most reasonable prices in the tri-state area

Great little shop. It has so much stuffed into its selves both in terms of supplies as well as livestock. They also have cherry shrimp, crystal red/black shrimp and more.
