We recently set up an aquarium and went in to Union Aquarium to buy some fish. The gentleman was extremely helpful and took a vert personal approach to our tank and the well-bring of our fish. He explained in laymans terms about the natural bacteria cycle in the tank and urged us to wait to add too many fish. He also offered to test our water any time we wanted to be sure the tank was healthy. He used a sentence that says a ton about the ethics of the establishment..."Id rather not make a sale than have you introduce too many fish and lose them." He made us customers for life and in 8 weeks, we will return to Union Aquarium to get fish. They happen to have a better selection than Petsmart, cleaner and healthier tanks than Petsmart and their prices are extremely competitive. We look forward to dealing with Union Aquarium for years and years.

I strongly disagree with The Evil Genius every interaction I have had Dave he has been a great guy with great knowledge of what he does. The employees that work here are some of the best I have seen out of all the fish stores in the region and the have the knowledge of all the fish store employees in the region. The reason the basement is being refinished is because he is upgrading and making it a better store. Half the reasons you claim this place should be shut down I have never witnessed or heard off! What I say to anyone reading the reviews you will not be disappointed and to disregard The Evil Geniuss comments. HATERS ARE GONNA HATE!!!!!!!!

Awesome selection of fresh and salt water aquariums. EXTREMELY knowledgeable about all aspects of fish keeping. Lots of supplies. Purchased probably 50-60 fish from these guys now, and have never had a problem with sick fish or disease. I went to something fishy, and they were terrible. The people here love to offer solid advice and help with any questions you may have. Prices are also very good for a small business. I will continue buying from union aquarium for all of my fish supplies.

No body greated me, while the owner looked at me while talking about how he sticks his breeders.* if he even has any?) half the lights were off in the salt section at 2 pm. 6-8 to 8 tanks full of alot of dead stuff and skeltons. . Plumbing and lighting is a hack and laugh. Skilters. for protein skimming? This used to be my LFS of choice. I really question my morals if i should of been calling animal control. I really regret the founder selling the place.

I was the only person in the store. Employee did not greet me said nothing the whole time i was there. They had a large selection of african cihlids that i was interested is but litterally every single one had fin rot or ich or was beat up to all hell. saltwater fish downstairs looked decent but i would be very cautious buying anything from here

Went there and purchased 2 saltwater fish. The owner helped me pick them out and gave me excellent advice. I used to be a customer at Eddies Aquarium in Cohoes. Eddies has awesome customer service as well but their prices arent nearly as good as Union Aquarium. UA also has a wider selection of Corals for a much better price as well.

Person working there was so helpful last visit but its when you can catch them. Today its Tuesday, 1240, no note on the door, lights are on but its locked up tight. Second time this has happened.They are supposed to open 12pm on Tuesday. Plus dont try to buy Saltwater fish here. The tanks are horrible. Fresh seem ok but only ok

The owner do sent honest customers. I bought a fish the next day it died. I worked then day after that. So I couldnt return until a two days later. He wouldnt give me my money back.

Very basic pet store has a lot of things that need some maintenance but fair selection of fish and corals for salt water and a decent selection for freshwater fish
