I was very disappointed by Critz Farms. We recently moved to Syracuse and are on a budget, so I did a lot of googling to find a tree farm with the best prices. The first and largest advertised price on the Critz Farms website was, "Cut-your-own trees starting at $24.95. Any size cut-your-own white pine, white spruce, or blue spruce $24.95." This price sounded good so we decided to go. When we got to the farm, we asked the owner what the procedure was. He gave us a saw and told us how everything was done there. I asked him if different types of trees were in different sections and he told me that all the trees were the same, but where the different heights could be found. We found a tree that we liked and cut it down, then when we went to pay we were told that the tree was $39. We were surprised by this because of the price we had seen on the website, and we mentioned that to the cashier. She told us that the website didnt say $25 (it does) and that the $25 price only applies to spruce trees. Confused by her explanation, we told her how the owner told us that all the trees are the same, so how could the price be different? She told us that all the trees are the same, and that the $25 price only applies to the Spruce trees. We were obviously confused by this explanation, so the conversation went back and forth like this with us trying to understand the pricing while the cashier got increasingly rude. At that point the owner happened to come over and we expressed our frustration to him regarding the misleading price on the internet. He didnt seem to know about the price on the website, but clarified that the spruce trees were in fact in a different field, and that all the trees in the field he had directed us to were fir trees and were more expensive. If he had told us this in the beginning when we asked where different types were located, we would have gone into the Spruce field! We had driven all the way out here and we didnt want to leave without a tree, so we went to the pre-cut section and found one that was in our price range. When we went to get it tagged so that we could pay for it, we expressed our frustration with the situation to the women tagging the trees. She very curtly asked if we needed the pricing explained to us and when we answered "no", she brushed us off very rudely. Overall this was a very disappointing experience. The staff were rude and the owner and his website were blatantly misleading. Needless to say we will not be going back next year.

This place is well known for their apples, pumpkins, and occasional festivals. Great place for children because they have a playground (open daily) that allows children to enjoy with their imagination with wooden ship, wooden train, and a playset. A farm animal may come out and say hello. For the adults, they have a tasting area for hard ciders ranging from dry to sweet. Dont expect much for food except for a standard panini. Otherwise, a great place for the family.

We came with a 2 year old and he just loved it. Many animals to see and pet, the cow tractor ride was a real hit too. He also enjoyed playing on the playground . The apple cider barn was very interesting showing how apples became cider and the cider was delicious. For the adults we sampled the hard cider which was good too. He ran out of steam but would have loved the pumpkin patch and apple picking. Lots to do I highly recommend a trip.

Went today to pick blueberries.....they were terrible. Hardly any on the vines and the ones that were tasted sour!! Not sure if we are too early but I didnt even see any unripe ones on the vines. We ve always gone to Critz and been pleased...not this year.

We used to go to Critz all the time. No more. Now they want an admission fee of $7.50 per person just to get in - everything else is extra on top of that! What a sellout and rip-off!
