This was my first time staying at a DoubleTree and I would happily stay at a DoubleTree again. Despite the hotels appearance from the outside looking like an old office building, the nice landscaping and modern, clean interior make up for that. The fact that the hotel is located near the highway is not a negative, its a convenience - during my stay I did not hear any traffic at all coming from the highway. When I arrived to check in I was able to get my room upgraded which was good, but the design of the room I got is kind of strange. Other than the bathroom, its one big room with a sofa bed and desk on one side and then a wall in the middle and then on the other side of the wall is a king bed. The wall in the middle divides the room in half but does not extend all the way across the room so you can walk around the wall on either side with no doors, so you can hear whats going on in the other side of the room. This DoubleTree has a pretty good location - its a less than twenty minute drive to the beach (Long Branch Beach) and a less than five minute drive to Monmouth Mall which also has a movie theater. Also located just five minutes away from the hotel is the All Seasons Diner which is located across the street from the Monmouth Mall. The All Seasons Diner has a huge menu, good quality food and is open late. Of course staying at a DoubleTree means complimentary warm cookies! This was my first time having the DoubleTree cookies and I was impressed! The cookies are soft and chewy - just how I like it! Because were Hilton Honors Diamond members we got to go the new Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond Lounge. The lounge was brand new at the time we were staying here and is a former hotel room. You can hangout in the lounge and watch TV and eat and drink free food and beverages.

I booked this hotel for my out of town guests for my wedding last month. We asked for early check in, as my wedding was 20 minutes away and the ceremony began at 4:30, which we were assured would not be an issue. We arrived at 10am and my bridesmaids and I began getting ready in my grandfathers room, as none of our rooms were ready. We continued to attempt to check into our rooms up until 2 oclock (when we were scheduled to leave for the venue). I (the bride) had to move from room to room as they SLOWLY became available to my bridal party, as none of the rooms had enough space for me to get into my dress. By the time we were all getting into the limo everyone FINALLY was able to check into their rooms except me and my then fiancé.. we were not able to check into the governors suite until we arrived back from our wedding at 11 oclock that night. My bridal party and guests were treated TERRIBLY by the front desk throughout the entire morning/afternoon. THEN when I asked what time my breakfast would be for my guests the next morning (since they failed to hand out vouchers or inform anyone of it) no one had an answer for me as to when it started or ended. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you are not an in-house wedding, as it is apparent that my guests and I were the least of their concern. If I had known that we were going to be treated in this way I DEFINITELY would not have booked this hotel. I am completely and totally disgusted by the employees and management of this establishment.

After you book your room, they e mail you asking for any extras you may need to make your stay more enjoyable.I requested extra towels,4 people in a room only 2 towels, not only is that not enough for 4 people,if I didnt request extra would I have no towels in my room? We had breakfast at the restaurant,I used my chg.card signed for the amount on my receipt(tip was given in cash)when I reviewed my credit card statement online..the charge amount that I paid was different then the amount on my bank statement.I went to the front desk to inquire only to be meet with the nasty front desk associate who told me the hotel is not responsible,I need to speak to the manager at the restaurant, the problem was resolved, but know one had an explanation for the additional charge on my credit card. The front desk manager was also nasty, she could not resolve an issue I had with my reservation, she then told me she was putting a tin of cookies together for my all my troubles with the hotel and would bring them to my room,a day and a half later still no cookies. Housekeeping cleaned my room and left a half roll of toliet paper,no extra roll and no coffee cups,I called the front desk o request toliet paper and coffee cups, when the gentleman bought up the items,he felt the need to tell me his shift was over and he already punched out,but had to bring the items to my room...how rude!! So do yourself a favor and find a different hotel to stay in. save yourself the aggravation!

The DoubleTree property has been nothing short of excellent. I do natural disaster recovery and am required to stay in hotels all over the country. I usually stay in Marriott’s until I had the opportunity to stay at this Hilton Property. I am being honest when I say that the staff have been wonderful and I look forward to continuing my business with them. They were all very responsive in working with me and meeting my needs as a long-term resident – and they have met me with a smile every time while doing so. The breakfast food is actually pretty good, too. If you’re not into the buffet style breakfast (which they have – bacon, sausage, eggs, etc), they have a variety of fresh fruits, yogurt, and an assortment of breads and bagels to suit your needs. The staff at the bar are always helpful and very attentive. Oh and the bar food is great, too. I’m a sucker for some chicken wings from time to time and I love theirs! The location right off of the Garden State Parkway and Highway 36 connects you to anywhere you want to go. Highway 36 to go to the beach or the Parkway to head north to NYC or south toward Cape May. This place really is ideal.

If I could find another place to stay on a holiday weekend, I would. Our toilet clogged so I called the front desk. "Maintenance isnt in yet, we will see what we can do." Its now over 1/2 hour later and we still have no one calling us or doing anything for us. The beds here are TERRIBLE, unless you want to sleep on a rock- and this is not an exaggeration. No one in my family got a reasonable night sleep. Then I opened the shower curtain when I wanted to take a shower... and the inside of the curtain is COVERED in mold. Then there is the noise. Wow, someone in the hall might as well be in bed with me. Right now theres a busload of kids on some sports team and no one is bothering to control them- and the hotel isnt either. all night people yelling and running back and forth down the halls. Ive spent the last 1/2 hour searching for a new hotel, unfortunately its impossible to find on this holiday weekend. I am considering cutting my trip short so I dont need to spend another night in this place.
