This place doesnt dea ever a one start. I refuse to go back to this place because my friends and I got there at 6:30 to make it in time by 8 to get in for free for cheap beer on Tuesdays we just made it by 7:50 we get up there they let me go in but they refused to let my other two friends in because one of my friends clearly had the license we now get in New Jersey when someone turns 21 but for some reason in New Jersey it will say provisional if you havent driven for more than 4 years, they refuse to accept debit cards or her work ID that had a picture but smudge. My other friend had his old license, his new license but had provisional on it, two debit cards and his social security card and they STILL refuse to let him they said they prefer college IDs which is the MOST DUMB idea ever because someone can have a fake ID and still be in college and not 21 lol I mean who really has that much IDs with a picture of themselves on it unless its a license? It just doesnt make any sense lol so when I proceed to ask one of the females there a question about if my friends leave to go get their ID from around the corner will they still be able to get in for free since they were here by the time? She said very rudely to me, "but we already started charging" when they werent even charging the people that were coming in. So I went to the other back entrance and ask the people if I can get a stamp on my hand so I can leave with my friends to get another proper ID they told me no that starts at 9 meanwhile I JUST saw someone get stamped. I dont want to pull the race card but at the movement thats for real how I felt and they do very much discriminate because their is no reason that my male friend (who is a black guy) should have not gotten in with all those IDs he had. But hey live it up its .50 cent beer and if you so happen to be the few they dont discriminate towards or try to make money of by refusing to let u in for free by the time u get there toots to yall I would keep going their too

Let me start off by saying that I am 24 years old, a nurse and a volunteer EMT. I have been going to Bar A since I turned 21. I have never had any issues with them. When I go there I know there is going to be a high volume of people and will be difficult to move around, etc. This past 4th of July my boyfriend (30 years old) and I decided to head to Belmar via NJ Transit to celebrate Independence Day. After spending the money and time traveling there we walk up to a fairly empty bar and I hand my NJ License to the bouncer. He says I need another form of ID so I hand him a debit card and my EMT card. He then proceeds to tell me that it needs to be a photo ID since I have a duplicate. Mind you I have had a duplicate for 2 years because my purse was stolen. I do not like to carry many valuables and IDs with me because of this incident. When he instructed that I should carry around my Passport, I explained to him the situation he stared at me blankly. I have been to Bar A with a duplicate and never have been asked for another photo ID until this past Friday. The very rude bouncer then proceeds to tell my boyfriend he cannot come in due to a duplicate. My boyfriend shows him his entire wallet full of credit cards, Union Worker IDs, CPR cards, etc (all under his name), and the bouncer denies him too. Not only did Bar A turn away two paying, responsible customers, but then proceeded to discriminate. All of two minutes later, two young girls walked up to the bouncer and presented what I can only assume were duplicates or out of state IDs. I could hear him ask for a secondary photo ID and the girls just proceed to show photo-less credit cards. The bouncer glances at them and says, "Its alright, go on in". I was blown away. Needless to say I will not be returning to Bar A and people should know what is going on down there. No wonder they are having issues with fake IDs and underage drinkers.

I usually love this place.. We drove 45 minutes to get here for a typical "beat the clock" Tuesday but were denied entry. My friend did not have a second form of photo ID. She did however have over three different credit cards and debit cards with her name on them. They would not accept that. They did not ask me for a second form, they allowed me in. When we tried to talk to the manager and the employee who was checking our IDs, they were extremely rude. I asked the manager to scan her ID and he said "we dont do that here." Then the manager cut me off mid sentence to talk to another patron right as I was trying to explain the situation to him. I witnessed the employee we were dealing with talk down to a patron while we were waiting on her to help us. She belittled him for absolutely no reason other than what seemed to be a power trip. Honestly, Ive never had an issue with this place and I have always remained polite, but tonight even with my polite nature these people were extremely rude to us and to others. I was extremely disappointed with the way they handled things tonight. To avoid this situation- bring TWO forms of photo ID and check their policy for checking ID on their website. Theyre strict. I just am not sure how I can give them one form and get in and another person needs to promise their first born to get in. Its inconsistent and really rediculous.

This place is a REALLY nice late night spot in Belmar, NJ. But the blonde-haired hostess/ door girl was extremely rude and showed no interest in assisting us with a table, not even in front of management. Very disrespectful. Last Saturday was my first time trying the place after hearing about the wings... also was the only happening place around 9pm when some friends and I arrived on the bikes at the beach. They had a bash going on with live music/ DJ... we just came to eat but enjoyed the music nonetheless. If it were not for the manager who is also a biker, that rude door girl wouldve made sure we left the place with a bad impression. I would give this place more stars but you know the saying about first impressions. Management made up for it but they definitely need to move that girl to the back of house (in restaurant terms). Shes a liability to the frontline of your business, and she behaved this way in front of you. No bueno... If management were not there we wouldve walked away never to return. BTW- Krystyn our server was excellent! Thx!!

The website says that a valid passport OR drivers license is needed to get in, i was told by the extremely rude doorman my passport was not enough i also needed a license, i told him i didnt have one because i dont drive and he proceeded to question me why i didnt have one, if i ever had one, what dmv it came from, what happened to it, how do i get to work, what town i live in and what do i do for a living. i tried to politely answer his ridiculous questions but it was clear by his bad attitude he was looking for an excuse not to let me in, this was after i was harassed about my clothing, i was abiding by the dress code but apparently he didnt like the pants i was wearing. When i asked what the problem was all he said was "the answer is no, you need to leave." Ive heard other people have had similar problems, so i guess if your over 21, have valid I.D and are within the dress code that doesnt mean their going to let you in. went to DJais and headliners right afterwords and had no problem.
