After more than twenty-years of client development lunches and dinners, I gained not only weight but also jaded taste buds that are not easily impressed. Nobu? Terrible and going on by reputation alone. Daniel? Not impressed. Babbo? Uneven quality depending on which day and what time you go. This is why I was so shocked to find this gem in Peekskill, NY. It is now one of my favorite restaurants. The Hudson Room is unique because of the variety in its offerings. You can have excellent fresh and tasty sushi, sushi rolls (including fusion rolls) and many types of western foods, including chicken wings, nachos, burgers, pasta, pork chops, steaks, salads and seafood. Now, if you are a foodie who is rolling her eyes at this menu variety, you owe it to yourself to try the food at this place before judging. There is a common theme to every dish I tried: extremely fresh ingredients (much of it organic and sourced locally, including the owner/chefs own local farm) and skillful cooking that accentuates the flavors of the ingredients rather than masking them. Even beer, wine and soft drinks include local products, including organic sodas that are fruity and not too sweet. The menu is so diverse and the food is so good that you need to dine with a group and share a variety of dishes. This is the only way to do justice to the high quality of the food at this restaurant. The watermelon, goat cheese and onion salad was a light dish that was a great start to the meal. Freshness and crispness of the watermelon combined perfectly with the light and flavorful goat cheese produced at the owner/chefs own local farm. The BBQ chicken wing was the best chicken wing I ever tasted (and I have tasted thousands in NY, LA, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong and even Buffalo, NY). The wings are smoked (not fried) and the meat not only falls off the bones but is also extremely moist and tender. The BBQ sauce is not too sweet and has a slightly spicy kick. Spicy tuna rolls and dragon rolls (yes, I know... but I am not a sushi snob - when done right, rolls are artistic creations - try the toro scallion roll at Masa and you will agree) were prepared so masterfully that dipping them in soy sauce was deemed blasphemously wrong by everyone at my table. None of us wanted to alter the already superb flavor. Most importantly, the fish tasted very fresh. Apparently, the sushi chef goes to NYC almost every day to pick out the fish he will serve at the restaurant. The pork chops were moist and tender and devoid of any "swiney" smell or flavor. They tasted like veal but more flavorful. The last time I had pork chops this good was at Babbo (on one of its good evenings). The cheesecake (again, using goat cheese produced at the chefs local farm) was just about perfect. Not too sweet and not too heavy. In fact, this cheesecake was better than any cheesecake I had, including those at Lady M and various steakhouses in Manhattan. So, in one evening, I ate (i) the best chicken wing I ever had, (ii) the best spicy tuna roll I ever had, (iii) the best dragon roll I ever had, (iv) the best pork chops I ever had and (v) the best cheesecake I ever had. Moreover, all of the other dishes we tried were also consistently excellent. How much did it cost per person? $62 per person, INCLUDING drinks, taxes and tip. Amazing... If I could give six stars, I would give it to The Hudson Room.

Our first time here and it just might be our last. Since we just moved to the area, heard rave reviews, so friends of ours made reservations for a Saturday night in March. We were seated promptly, got to order drinks and were served promptly and politely. Our entrees came and were delicious... I ordered another beer, and our server said they ran out so she gave me a taste of a similar beer... It was all so wonderful... And thats where it all went down hill. My wife ordered coffee at 8:25 and was served and then we placed our dessert orders and after dinner drink... And we waited, and we waited, and we waited...as our server closed out tables next to us and served newer tables... NEVER once addressing us or saying, let me check on those desserts... And we waited, and waited... At 9:05, I called her over and she said your two desserts are almost ready (Mind you we ordered 3 desserts and one cordial drink). When I informed her that we were leaving and to cancel the order, all we got is attitude... No apology, nothing... She took the items of the bill and dropped off the check.. We paid and still gave her 15% tip. No thank you, no Im sorry... Just attitude... SMDH...She was either overwhelmed by the tables coming and going or more likely, totally forgot to put our order in... I get it..We are all human..but own it.. Dont make the customers feel awkward because you made a mistake...Left a bad taste in a first impression.... Definitely gonna steer clear of this place :(

The servicr was fine but strained. The waiter seemed to have a problem relaxing and being more personable. The food came out in a timely manner and was hot and tasty, however, the desserts were served cold when the chocolate mousse cake should have been served at room temperature. The worst offence was NO espresso. Having been told the espresso machine has been broken for four months! Are you kidding! Buy a new one! Such a let down.

Third time there and third time having a not so good meal. This time I ordered their burger (like 19$!) medium well. It came almost raw. I hate sending food back and tried a few bites but had to have them recook it. I felt nauseous all night after. For the prices I expect better food and better service than one would get at a diner.

The manager and bartender were very helpful. We came late, almost closing time and they still took us. (if you ask me it was a minute to closing time.) The service was excellent. The food was served with great detail and were not rushed at all. Will definitely always come back here. They also have live shows daily.

Food was very good, although the portions were small relative to the high prices. Espresso machine was not working on a Friday night.
