Well, Ive tried to be a regular patron as a local from Asbury Park. My last 2 experiences have not been pleasant. Its not that the food has been horrible, the drinks are actually great, but the service is disgraceful. It appears that there has not been good training for the staff and everyone is running around like crazy, but service is slow or you are just plain ignored. One of the last times we went, the wait for food or refill of drinks was forever, one would think theyd be quick with the drinks as a money maker. Oh, and the host told me if we waited about 20 minutes at the bar, my girl and I could have a table. Really, its Asbury Park and you assumed I was with a girl? We went again yesterday and were encouraged to sit at a high top table near the bar. It seemed like it would be okay since host brought us menus. After more than 10 minutes, no server acknowledged us and we couldnt find one to give us attention. Then, another couple walked in and sat at the table next to us and a server attended to them immediately. We decided to leave. Two hosts were notified of our experience and didnt seem to care. One even smiled and said, "Oh wow" as if that was the appropriate thing to say. Since Marilyns staff doesnt seem to care to have business from a local, we went elsewhere and our experience tells us its not worth returning.

Friends suggested Langosta Lounge. Website looked promising. Great location and interior design is cute. Party of 3 waited 5 minutes at the door to be acknowledged at 8:45 on a Tuesday night (bad sign). Told thered be a 15 minute wait - not bad. Sat at the bar for 10 minutes before being acknowledged by bar tender (bad - bar was not crowded - there were empty seats). While waiting for drinks, hostess comes over to tell us that she can seat us. Still waiting for drinks and to settle tab, hostess returns to tell us that she cant seat us (kitchen is horribly backed up). She wasnt sure when shed be able to seat us but we were more than welcome to sit and eat at the bar. Decided not to risk further frustration. Left and went to Carmines. Probably wont go back - poor service left a bad taste in my mouth and I didnt even have anything to eat.

Waited for about 8 minutes at the bar. Kory server #502 yells from 15 feet away what do you want. I ordered 2 langosta margaritas and a beer. The margaritas which were made together were not shaken well resulting in 2 different tasting drinks. When the bar tender finally came back over and his attention was brought to the different taste and color of the drinks he said they were the same drink and walked away. He then came over a second time after the drinks were made and asked how they were. When we showed displeasure in the drinks once more he grabbed thw drink and poored more grapefruit juice in it to make it the same color. After another 10 minutes he offered to make a new drink because there was "no point" in having it if we werent going to drink it. I said that we will finish the first margarita and leave. Will not be returning.

A bit disappointed. My 50th BD was on a Tuesday and I wanted to go someplace with music. They listed a bad playing at 7 pm and when I checked with the restaurant earlier in the day while walking the boardwalk, they confirmed a band was playing, though the waitress was shocked she said shee needed to check because "Its been a LONG time since we had a band play" Hum. I see them advertising live music on specific dates All the time. So we went and the bad was A NO SHOW. When talking with our waiter, I mentioned how I noticed that over the summer there seemed to be bands playing every weekend. He looked at me like I had no head. Is there a pattern here, of saying there will be music and then there not being any? I wonder. The food was good, though nothing to rave about. I won’t be back.

This is the first review Ive ever written, but I feel they were worthy of my time. Caban Olives and fried Calamari as appis... the olives were outstanding, very different, certainly fun appi food. Calamari was perfect fried, light and crispy and NOT greasy (so important)...so good. Even the breadsticks were probably the best breadsticks Ive ever had!! I had Umami (something like that) noodles with shrimp and veggies in a light brine...PERFECT! My daughter had the curry dish, my son had a combo fish thiing, I dunno what the hell you called it...MY GOD the food was to die for!! Its my new FAVE Asbury destination..no doubt. Service was excellent...ask for JenDaley!! Shes the best!!! Great night, fabulous drinks, great food...what else could you possibly ask for?!?!

We have only been coming here right after Sandy. Asbury Park was devastated by the heavy seas and the high tide. The area was devastated. But two bars were open, Langostas and the Salty bar. We come here every year. The place just keeps getting better. The restaurant serves some of the best sushi around for miles, the food is amazing and the service just gets better and better every year. I feel like now that most of the construction is over and the Bennies are coming back, I might have to find a new place to dwell. NOT!!! He he he.. along with the shops and the pavilion. Not to mention the Stone pony with down town investments Asbury Park just looks like a good place to raise a family. So now its up to you come and enjoy a gem in the raw.

I had made a reservation for 8:15pm, and by 9:05 I was still not seated. That was quite disappointing. Once seated our server, Sondra, was very nice. However, after ordering, we were informed that multiple items were no longer availble from the menu. Shortly after substituting the entrees, we were informed by the manager that another entree was unavailable that we ordered. Needless to say, we were disappointed, again. The food was decent, the mac and cheese was very spicy, which I liked, and the short ribs fell off the bone-perfect. There were two bartenders on duty, and they were managing the bar well. I received drinks quickly. However, only one bartender knew exactly how to make a dirty martini, the other one forgot the olive juice!

This is a really cool restaurant across the street and down a bit from Stone Pony. It was very busy so make reservations in advance if its a busy time. Very loud due to the bar and lots of drinkers. Its on the water which is very nice, but we sat inside. My wife had the lobster bisque which had pesto drizzled in. It was very good, so was her Mediterranean salad. I had caribbean chicken and it was very good. Ambiance is great, even some nice couches to sit on when you are waiting for a table, great touch. Kind of expensive of course, being in Asbury Park in peak season. Waiter was very attentive. Try the mango ice tea, not too sweet and very good!

It was Friday night. I called ahead - reservations for 2, 8:30. Although there were many tables unoccupied, we were asked to sit at the bar. By 9:00 (right before we walked out) the host found us and told us he "forgot" to seat us! They sat us right on top of another couple - we might have well sat at the same table. The server got me the wrong drink 2ce! I had to go to the bartender to correct his mistake. The food was ok. But, we never saw our server! We even had to ask someone else for our check and then take it up to pay! Strange. Would not go back - also, the bathrooms are RUN-DOWN - gross!
